How to Crochet a Simple Cocoon Cardigan, Oversized Crochet Sweater, All Sizes, Plus Sizes

Autumn is not that far away, and It's time to start crocheting fall and winter garments! In this video I am showing how to crochet an oversized cocoon cardigan using puff and double crochet stitches.
You can crochet this cardigan in any size you want. Just make sure your starting chains is a multiple of 5.
Start with a chain as long as indicated for your size.
Sizes and starting chains (in inches and cm): X-Small 34 inches (87 cm), Small 38 inches (97 cm), Medium 42 inches (107 cm), Large 46 inches (117 cm), X-Large 50 inches (127 cm), 2X-Large 54 inches (137 cm), 3X-Large 58 inches (147 cm), 4X-Large 62 inches (157 cm).
Skill Level: Intermediate
Materials: Medium worsted 100% acrylic yarn, about 2000 - 4000 yards, depending on size. I used Impeccable by Loops & Threads; US hook size H (5.00 mm).

Thank you Olga, I am really happy and impressed with the style and pattern! 😍😄 Double crochet and puff stitch are what have been using and it's easy for me, just I am having trouble with the sides as they are curling inwards, I will take it back and will have to redo some of the lines. If it it too big or too small for me that doesn't matter. At least you have taken the time and given the sizes for crocheting the cocoon cardigan. Most people on here don't do that. Yes I agree I have looked at cardigan crochet videos on here and most look complicated and go too fast. You are perfect and patient with us by taken the time to do these videos.

Hi Karen, thank you for your comment! I really do my best giving the sizes, so that people can crochet these items for themselves. It's not always possible for me, but at least with this kind of cardigan, being cocoon and oversize style, this wasn't so complicated. But with fitted garments, figuring out all the sizes becomes much harder. It's mostly myself (size small) and my mom (size medium) that I can take measures off and try on the garments-in-progress to achieve the best fit. I've made some items for babies, but children's clothes are definitely not my expertise. But it's something I'd like to learn!
