    Hello Olga,
    Once again you have given instructions for the sizes. I can't thank you enough. You are one amazing lady, thank you Olga.
    If it it too big or too small for me that doesn't matter. At least you have taken the time and given the sizes for crocheting the cocoon cardigan. Most people on here don't do that. Yes I agree I have looked at cardigan crochet videos on here and most look complicated and go too fast. You are perfect and patient with us by taken the time to do these videos.
    Take care.
    Keep safe.
    I look forward to more crocheting videos from you. Is it possible to do a video of a child's cardigan and coat? Please.😊👍

    • @OlgaPoltava
      @OlgaPoltava  2 года назад +1

      Hi Karen, thank you for your comment! I really do my best giving the sizes, so that people can crochet these items for themselves. It's not always possible for me, but at least with this kind of cardigan, being cocoon and oversize style, this wasn't so complicated. But with fitted garments, figuring out all the sizes becomes much harder. It's mostly myself (size small) and my mom (size medium) that I can take measures off and try on the garments-in-progress to achieve the best fit. I've made some items for babies, but children's clothes are definitely not my expertise. But it's something I'd like to learn!

    Love the sweater. Feel like I hit the jackpot. Impeccable is my favourite #4 weight yarn. I’m making the sweater in Aran tweed and bonus is I’ll have a matching hat. I always make a hat for whatever I make. Even my shawls have matching hats. Thank you again. I am a new subscriber from Toronto, Canada.

      Hi Kim! I work with Impeccable yarn a lot; I really like it. My next project will be a popcorn sweater made with this yarn. Making hats is fun! I actually like the idea of matching hats, even with shawls! I live in California (but originally from Ukraine). I took a trip to Montreal last summer, and I absolutely loved it! The people are so friendly and welcoming! I'd love to visit Toronto some day too! Hugs from Cali 🤗

      Olga Poltava I bought lots of impeccable last year when it went on sale for 2 dollars. So last weekend I went and bought 6 more skeins to make sure I had enough because I’m using Aran flecks and it’s less yardage. I believe it’s 198 yards. Best part there is no due lot. So now I have 12 skeins. Hope it’s enough. Talk soon.

    Hi Olga 😊
    Could you please make me understand that what do you mean by chain divisible by 5? For example if you took 60 chains for your small size what to do next ? Divide it by 5?

    • @OlgaPoltava
      @OlgaPoltava  4 года назад

      I started with chain 60 for a small example, not my real cardigan in size Small. 60 is divisible by 5, because 60 : 5 = 12 (there is no remainder). Basically, the pattern repeats every 5 stitches. For example, chain 65 will also work, then 70, 75, 80, 85, etc.
      To make the real cardigan in size Small, you need to crochet a chain 38 inches long. But you need to make sure that the amount of chains can be divided by 5 (without a remainder).
      Let's say you crocheted your chain 38 inches long, then you count the chains and you have 163 chains. Then you need to ether add 2 more chains (to make it 165, which is divisible by 5) or you can remove 3 chains (to make it 160, which is also divisible by 5). Either removing a few chains or adding a few chains will be fine, because it's a loosely fit cardigan, so it won't affect the size.
      I really hope this explanation makes sense and helps!

      What size did you make & how much yarn did it take please? I am wanting to gift an XL & I am guessing 3000 yards according to her list 2000-4000 yards..., sounds like a lot of yarn, but the stitch does use quite a bit.

    • @ananyachakraborty9931
      @ananyachakraborty9931 4 года назад

      I'm from India...and the yarn I used luckily had the length in yards mentioned. Each ball of wool had around 350 yards and I purchased 16 such balls...comes to around 5500 yards of which I still have a ball left. I made it in L size...so I would suggest you order for 6000 yards and then start off. Having a bit left over won't hurt.

    2 good. Puff stitch must be using more yarn. Can we do with mercerised cotton or it has to be done in yarn

    • @OlgaPoltava
      @OlgaPoltava  4 года назад

      Yes, it does take a lot of yarn! It's really up to you what yarn you use.
