Maybe metalheads just don't HATE anything, especially not music.
Like they get something out of every form of music and accordingly every culture too... All they want is sincerity, intensity & dedication. So a country song can pop as sincere, classical can impress with its sheer depth and composition, punk has an attitude and lyrical honesty, etc etc, disco you can thrash too...
No limits. Music is all good.

The daily mosh / rock out session helps release any negative energy. Metalheads tend to be rebels and truth seekers which keeps the soul free. And you just cant beat a metal concert for a great night of old school fun! Metal is a Brotherhood like no other. Plus Bisscute, I think you look both the happiest and the coolest when you are listenning to a metal song which says something since you are not as traditional metalhead! I've been a metalhead since age 13.
I can't say I'm necessarily "happy" or "happier" overall, but I am definitely happier than I would be if I were not a metalhead.
It's been the best medicine for me on many occasions - no booze, no drugs, (and sadly, no sex, lol) - always lots of metal (and other good music).
Metal is definitely cathartic outlet for processing and purging (or even transforming) dark and negative emotions, and no one gets hurt.

Metal musicians are relatable ("Stan culture" thinks the musicians they support are their friends when they really aren't). The masses think that it's mindless screaming about the devil (thanks a lot fundamentalists), but the reality is that it actually isn't.
A lot of them use personal experiences as a drive to make the best music they can and it connects with people. Not just that, but most of them are actually very kind and down to earth people who don't put up a facade. Sadly, we can't say the same about a lot of other genres which has turned into an absolute cash cow.
Whenever I'm feeling down, I turn to it the most. It's pure adrenaline, a dopamine rush and flat out cathartic for those who are in a tough place. The problem is that not enough people give it a chance.
Before I get labeled an elitist, I'd like to throw out that I enjoy music across most genres, not just metal.

Everything in this video is absolutely true. I've been a headbanger here in the U.S. since I was 12 years old. I'm 38 now, and I've remained loyal to the cause. I also had the priviledge of performing live with a few of my own projects of the past, playing drums with my two best friends for over 10 years. Of course, we never went far. But, in our minds, no one could tell us we weren't rock stars. We definitely played the part. Absolutely the best years of my life. We headbangers really are a dying breed in todays society, but I'm still spreading the gospel. I've come to enjoy watching the authentic journeys of new metal fans in these reaction videos. I know that a lot of these people fake the hell out of theiir true reactions and feelings towards the music. But I can always tell when the songs touch the listeners sould deep down. Those cheeky smiles that people up followed by the quick glances at the camera. Once I notice that kind of stuff, then I know. Not that over the top "WHAT IS THIS?!" crap. i've seen a few people truly become fans on here. And when I see that, then I know that it's all been worth every single minute and headbang. My family background is also super religious and what not. So, I am definitely the black sheep outcast in my blood family,. But, the surrogate family welcomed me with open arms. So, welcome to the fam. Keep the faith sister! \m/

Congrats on 150k. For me it is all about musicianship. When I was growing up in the 70's my parents listened to country music just wasn't for me. I bought an AM radio and started to listening to rock which I enjoyed. Then I was exposed to the different types like Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin which I drifted to because of the guitar and drums. This evolved to metal music around the time of the British Invasion with Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. I also started listening to classical music like Bach and Beethoven because of what they composed for various instruments. The journey drifted on for a few more decades (Metallica, Godsmack, etc) but nothing really stood out before finding Porcupine Tree around 2008 while recovering from a bad car accident. Then a few years ago I came across Lovebites which I find truly awesome and from there numerous other female Japanese rock/metal bands along with Ningen Isu (Japans Black Sabbath). Metal helped calm me down when I was having bad days at work and home because I could get lost in the sound of the instruments.

Following the title of this video, metalheads in general are happy people, because they enjoy music and life. Music is very important for a metalhead. For another kind of metal, sad and melancholic: Doom Metal for not so happy metalheads and that is a therapy. That's my example.

I feel like music can't ~make~ anyone aggressive, just unlock something inside them - and not necessarily negative things either, but music can give you an outlet for those energies or emotions. Maybe you wanna headbang and make lots of noise with a guitar, maybe you want to turn up the bass and dance, it's all good! And I feel like for the people who are into the stuff with darker lyrics, sometimes it's about meaning, other times it's about enjoying the theatre - people who really like horror movies are usually cool and nice, y'know?
Congrats on the 150K Biss! I remember that early video where you were all "my friend said I should try this music reaction thing", they were right!

My first metal concert was Black Sabbath (1983). Co-workers had asked if I was going to "give my soul to the devil" at the concert. Lining up outside the arena there were protestors from churches, asking us to give our souls to God and not go to the show. That was wild.
Quiet Riot was the opening act and they put on a great show, but then they drew a curtain across the stage. When the curtain re-opened, the stage had been set to look like Stonehenge. There was a lot of smoke at stage level. A midget in a devil suit popped up, growled at the audience and began running around the stage. A lot of people, including me, began freaking out. The midget left the stage, Black Sabbath came on and put on one hell of a show.
What happened after the concert was an adventure and a half and it's a story for another day, but it ended with me cooking breakfast for Black Sabbath the next morning.

I have listened to many types of metal for 30 years. I love classic rock, blues, alternative, shoegaze, hip hop, reggae, r&b, almost everything except country. Metal is the best thing ever and many people don't realize how huge it is. Thrash metal and power metal, I don't know how I would have lived without it. The topics, the subject matter, the lyrics, the images, the force, the emotion, it is amazing. I am grateful I grew up with all this music and that is all I had was music and video games, no phones or social media, just a walkman strapped to your backpack every morning as you walked to school, just you and music in your ears and mind and the rest of the world was completely out of sight and out of mind, that glorious time of peace and imagination without 24/7 a billion times a second corporate political bs that now reigns supreme.

There is the one reason why we are happier as a people which is not mentioned here and it's: We LOVE this music. It hits all the right spots in us and we REALLY love it. There is no other group in this world who loves other kinds of music as we love our Heavy Metal. I am 48 years old now. My first koncert was Iron maiden Live after Death tour in 1984. I was 9 then, my dad took me because I really REALLY liked the art of Eddie the Head on Killers album which I made my dad buy for me year earlier. Rest is history. 39 years later now I still have the same joy of listening to this music as I had when I was a kid, in fact, it brings me (on top of the joy of listening to heavy, fast sound) all the memories connected to this music and those are most powerful memories I have.

I think the main reason Metalheads are happier people is that they become more emotionally mature. We experience strong emotions through music. We even collect songs just to have them around when they're needed. We learn how to handle emotions and I have gotten to the point of being able to adjust my mood by choosing songs or bands to listen to. I need to wake up and kick ass today? Pulse of the maggots by slipknot. I need to calm my ass down? Jenny of oldstones or many other songs performed by Melissa Bonny. I just had a devastating loss? Dark night of the soul by Xandria. I need a good cry for whatever reason? Christmas truce by Sabaton. The more you expand what you consider metal, the more songs you can find for a specific feeling.
Listening to music to adjust mood and energy levels is becoming just another part of living to me.

I think metal really has it's roots in classical music. Think of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement, played by 17 yr old French prodigy Tina S. On electric guitar. Also check out Ozzy Osbourne's song "Diary Of A Madman" with so much classical guitar in it, played by Randy Rhoades. Old time classical music never went away, it just transformed with the electrical instruments we use today. Love your channel! Thanks!

"I Wanna Be Somebody" by WASP is a perfect example, as well as "Don't Care 'bout Nothin'" by Shotgun Messiah. Most people in my life describe me as such a gentle guy, and they can't comprehend how into heavy metal I am. 🤷‍♂

Yes I would have to say that we are happier people. Our music 🎶 may sound scary. Well maybe it is 🤔, but it helps get out some of the pent up aggression and negative energy that tends to build up in all of us. One good trip to the pit and you feel cleansed, a bit spent but all that trash just seems to melt away for awhile 🤘

The truth that is presented in metal music rings true forever! There is no reason to defend the truth, you can either believe it or remain ignorant! I believe the people who love this music are seeking truth with nothing held back! That is why some people can not handle metal, it speaks truth and some can’t handle that, but all people respect that someone is standing in the truth and not moving, fans, bands, reactors all get a certain amount of respect even if it seems like negative comments! Much Love! 🤘🏻

Im not a metalhead, but i start to listen to Maiden in 1981 when i was 11. My biggest favourite is Guns`n Roses but i have listen to all of the good rock music who was produce in 80 and 90s, im not so into todays metal because i think its to commercal, the best rock music for me is when they play live better then in the studio. But my life would be dark and sad if i only listen to Rock/Metal so in the same years in the 80 and up today there is so much other nice music also. I`m keep saying if the music catch you, it doesn`t matter what kind of genre it is :) Have a nice day Biss :)

My taste in music is all over the place, but heavy metal is my go to genre, and indeed the fans are the nicest people ever. It seems like the heavier it gets, the nicer the fans get. I'm a big fan of melodic death metal like 'Arch Enemy'
I agree 100% with what the interviewed fans say here
It's a sort of niece genre, so we respec tand see each other as family
    take care Biss and everyone

I can see that you get the same feeling that all of us do when you listen to metal. Keep up your awesome work. I’m glad we are helping open your horizons, which is what you hoped for when you started this channel. Much peace and love to you Bisscute. I grew up listening to metal. I like other genres, but metal is one of my best. Its like a drug to me an addictive kind of thing. I have to have my metal fix occasionally. They shouldn't be so hard on you. You didn't grow up on metal like some of them have. So I say to you welcome aboard!

We 🤘-heads are a rambunctious, but kind bunch. You'll encounter some a-holes, but they get snuffed out pretty quick. We are a community and everyone is welcome to join. Some of the best people I've met are metalheads and bikers. Never judge a book by its cover is true here.

    Metal is the best.
In general metal music is much more than most give it credit for.
The talent these musician have is generally insane.
Most metal musicians can learn a pop like song in 5 minutes. But ask a pop musician to learn a metal song. It might take a lot longer.
The understanding it take to not only write it, with the layers, breakdowns, and different cords, and then play it. Is something to respect on its own.
And often. Metal music have really profound and deep lyrics.
I often fall asleep to a band called Austere. They are from Australia and make very melodic metal, where the screams and singing becomes more a part of the melody and feeling that being beside the music. Its an amazing journey and so relaxing.
Also Wacken was the first concert/festival I went to outside of Denmark.
Been to Roskilde Festival often ( The largest festival in the North ), and many many smaller concerts and such.
Also, why its a healthy thing. Or make happy and more none violent people.
Its been proven in countless studies, the more you hold things inside. Have to hide your feelings. The bigger the chance of you exploding at some point. Issues will fester slowly until a point of doing something bad.
So metal music "speaking" about the dark things. Hurt, suicide, or anger. It lets people deal with it, get it out. feel it.
So it does not bottle up. Emotions is a big part of metal music, and the metal scene. And than means less violence.
So, when you take the things most young people normally listen to, and the scenes they are in. The music does not give an outlet to be emotional. On the other hand, emotion is often put in a negative way. with weakness and such things. Meaning people bottle them up. And much more violence and anger follows.
I will add a link to a song I think you will like.
It is a metal song. But there is also clean singing in it. And much focus on different instruments including violins.
I am pretty sure you will like it if you listen to it.

A lot of fair points made in this video. Personally I don't have any one genre that I gravitate to. It's what ever moves me or makes me feel good. Thanks Biss, can't wait until that 200k live celebration.

I'm 52 and been a metalhead pretty much all my life. My oldest brother was Sabbath and Zeppelin fan and I got my music influence from him. Plus he was a drummer in a band for many years. My first metal in high-school was bands like Metal Church, Anthrax, Dio and Metallica. And for me metalheads are happy I guess because we don't give a s@#t what people think about us. I'm talking late 80's early 90's. The way we dressed and looked and acted. I know I didn't care. Metal is rebellion and individuality. That's my take on it.
