I saw them live last year and I felt like they would literally blast my nose off any second. I had broken my nose a few years ealier and the crack started vibrating viscously
His abilities in choosing effects and honing in deep tones to perfection is most definitely a talent. I've seen them a few times, but really got to talk to him at one particular show in nevada city California. He was excited to be in a tiny town with an awesome scene. He is inviting, excited, down to earth, and just a nice dude. Everybody was happy that night. 🤘🎃✌
Sure, Conan isn't technical at all but along with the fuzzy tone and low tuning that creates a sonic force like no other, Conan has a way of making riffs that hook you. That all takes a lot of talent and insight.
I feel like there's a bit of a punk aspect to the musicianship which I love and totally agree with. It's about raw energy, passion and intensity, not being able to play a million notes. Sometimes all you need is a few to convey everything you want to say even without words

Create a good song with 3 notes is sometimes harder than create it with many solos

In my opinion, those people who have that opinion about metal, like oh i dont listen to slow music, i hate old metal, i only like fast shit, only like shit about mutilated babies or it sucks....ect ect...defy the laws of metal. I cant stand opinionated elitist bs. Its all very cerebral and as they say physical. I need to seperate from my mind, find a grove, turn up the volume and steam roll a horde of orcs with my battle axe. Fuck all the fancy shit. Conan has incredible talent for making amazing brutal epic music.

@@ellisdugg dude I can say the same about my city - Mumbai. Metal uses to rule when I used to attend gigs some ten years ago. Now it's all indie folk-shit, panzy ass singer-songwriters.
