When you listen to lyrics backwards, it can sometimes sound like they’re saying pretty freaky things (to some), but at the end of the day, it's nothing more than just a coincidence and a waste of time to get freaked out over. You only hear it if you want to hear it. So just play the album forwards again before you end up damaging the record.

Revolution 9 is not understandable at all. Most of the uploaded songs played backwards are sound illusions created by what is written on the screen. Different people hear different things from the same reversed song whereas this one has really clear pronunciation. Everybody hears the same thing. This one looks more real.

29 years ago while whacked out of my mind on god knows what, I tried to dig my way out of a house through the kitchen wall with my bare hands as this song played from a basement stereo, because I thought something indefinable was coming after me to kill me.
I remember when this came out in 1975. I owned a half-track tape deck (Revox A77) , which means that unlike a quarter track, you can record one way, flip the tape around and hear things in reverse. First thing I did after hearing this cut was to do that and "decipher" what was said.
I reversed that in 1982, with a cassette player Took it apart and flipped the playback head. Spinning records in revers is so low tech :P COOL! "The Music is reversible, but Time is not. Turn back, turn back, turn back, turn back..." This was made during the height of the "backmasking era" and was actually just recorded backwards onto the main tracks. Now true "satanic backwards speak" involves making words sound like other words in reverse mode, see Stairway to Heaven, Another One Bites the Dust, etc. AC/DC's "Givin' the Dog a Bone" says "OMG" about a million times, when played backwards. :D Actually reversing the tape or digital media yields MUCH different results than those dumb@$$e$ got "spinning records in reverse" with their finger, back in the day. They used this (the actual music, not this intro to the song) as the intro/outro on the old Wide World of Sports show on ABC back in the 70's. If you listen to the actual instrumental part of the song backwards and forwards it sounds the same, they went through the progression of notes up and down the scales so it came back to where it started from, pretty ingenious.
Back when I first got this album in the mid 70s there of course was not the tools to research that exist today so I recorded it on reel to reel and reversed it as a party piece for my pot head friends lol

This is exactly what you would hear in a game over screen when your character dies. Imagine you're playing and you're against the main boss, the one who you've been training for this whole time and you are just barely managing to defeat him while at the same time losing whatever health or energy your character has left, your character is standing there giving it all they've got and they're just about to finish the boss off once and for all when BAM...from seemingly out of nowhere he or she gives one particularly dangerous attack that ultimately ends killing them. The screen then fades completely to black as the sound of a heartbeat can be heard, your character is dead...presumably they ran out of lives prior to the final round and you hear the boss's voice....and they saw 'the music is reversible, but time is not. Turn back, turn back , turn back". Bonus points if it is a music themed villain who turns out to be the final boss.

Why does audio played backward freak some people out? We used to flip over the tape on our 3" reel to reel recorder in the '60s and thought it sounded hilarious. We'd even mimic the backwards talk and then reverse it to sound "normal", it was so goofy!
