  • Here we look at correct armature spacing and how 'high-down force' and 'low-down force' setup affects it. We can disregard thermal expansion, as it is less than .001" in this application.

    hi Jeff. This is centering in the actual field, since the distortion of the field by the traction magnets, pulls the armature to the front or rear slightly. Only with a 2-magnet car should you position the arm in the geometric center of the magnets.

    Where can I buy arms and does it make it faster snappier and if so how mjch how hard is to wind your own

    Quick question - do you not center the arm in the magnet field instead of they way you are showing?
