6th accessory: money
it's not an accessory it's the main tool
Yeh and unfortunately I realised that after a bit and was already hooked
That's a pretty good one. I feel it's something I could definitely have in my arsenal
was just about to say this lol
WRONG, it's the 1st
0:20 prop tool (aka 8mm nut driver)
0:50 motor grip (or just a rubber battery strap )
1:54 backpack (specific drone backpack or just skateboard backpack)
3:16 antennas (i wouldn't call this an accessory.... but)
4:29 radio lanyard
king
It's not a prop tool, it's an 8mm nut driver. Here's three accessories you actually need.
1)charger 2)soldering iron 3)tool kit (2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm hex driver and a 8mm nut driver)
That's a much better list
Read this ^^^^^ first, save 6:09 of your life. "Gotta force content out". SMH. Cmon RR.
I wanted to comment but everything sounded like hate so I'll just agree with you.
I always use 1.5mm for camera mounting, 2.0 mm for the frame and 2.5 mm for motor screws. I have never had a need for the 3.0 mm driver that always comes in the tool sets. What do you use it for?
@@Life-In-Bits we have some really cool stuff coming. Get your friends to watch the awesome videos and we are happy to make more of them. Help us fix the YT algorithm. I love doing Monster Trucks, Roller Coasters, sporting clay target chasing and Cool projects.
Stuff you probably already own: "Prop Tool" - 8mm driver. "Prop Grip" - one work glove for your off-hand. "Drone Bag" - any bag, really. Sk8 bag is smart, thanks Drew. (Look for old DJI Phantom bags. They're cheap now and hold lots of stuff.) "Radio Lanyard" if your TX didn't come with one you can use any lanyard, but use one cuz dropping your radio even once will likely damage it. (bybe bye switches!)
Antennas: It's good to have a patch if you need it and having a set of LHCP antennas as an option to help filter out a buddy's "leaky" VTX can come in handy. (RHCP guys can still ride along with you but with less reception...for them.)
A battery checker is very valuable as well. It's a hassle to plug in and have to wait for OSD only to find out you've plugged in a flat pack.
rubberized battery strap works perfect for gripping the motor.
That's a great idea I've been using the rubber strap wrench but it's a little bit overkill
That is a good idea!
Thanks for that idea! I will use it from now on and not cut my hands anymore😂 Greetings from germany 🇩🇪👈
Or your freaking fingers
I'm feeling like this was an episode because an episode was needed..
Agreed
100%
Entertaining video gj guys, but how are antenna's accessories? Everything else you can do without (except the prop tool @Bubby FPV), but antenna's are an essential piece of gear, not an accessory.
The thing they didn't push about antennas was that it was PLURAL. You should have an extra set. Some of us fly like they're disposable.
@Hella Copter 01:55 🤣
Backpack
Tool kit
Soldering iron stuff
Fireproof battery bags
Hardware stuff like Standoffs, Nuts n Bolts, Screws, Rubber spacers..
folding table - fastest way to make friends at a meet-up.
How can you not mention the smoke stopper?
And if antennas count I would go with a self powered buzzer. It is optional but can be really helpful when you try to find your quad.
Absolutely, smoke stopper and self-powered buzzers, I would agree with that
Good video, I feel like I'm watching the Disney channel
lmfao dude
Lanyards are like guitar-belts... Some like it high up near their chin and some like it down low near their knees you know. ;P ;D
Y’all need to come down to the bass pro shop pyramid in Memphis TN and see if u can get clearance to fly around there
Fyi directional antennas have a null of the back but not as big as of the sides and certainly not the gain you get from in front. Because the signal rejection isn't as strong off the back, this is why you can get a decent signal behind you.
+1 for battery checker
ps: not sure if anyone already mentioned extra battery straps
ISDT makes a great checker but I am unsure how much it costs, I have two
first time I went to an fpv spot, i used my laptop bag and ecobag to bring my gear.. while riding a bike xD
Cricket in the thumbnail, no cricket. 🤦♂️
🤷🏾♂️
honestly though,, beards are a required accessory
Dang it! I knew we forgot something haha 🧔
LOL, Chad Kapper and I came up with that rubber grip in a field in Shanghai. We had a stuck prop and no "Motor" pliers.
I use patches too and I fly way behind me. Crosshair for life
My FPV backpack is the back of my car lol
I expected better. :P
As antennas are not an accessory, I would include a battery checker and colored XT60 TPU ends for battery voltage color coding. :)
Lol Stew really hit home with making fun of you with the backpack 😂
For a motor grip can I suggest a RDQ battery strap with the battery grip on inside of strap for no slip 😉
Or...or... a RotorRiot battery strap ;). 😂
Does the Riot strap have grip on inside to prevent slippage?
Those regular straps without grip are cute but not as grippy lol
Can y'all please do more challenges or anything interesting?
Can someone please tell me what’s going on with my V2 goggles when am I going to get them? Support is not much help..
Got Motor grip ? Haha Great list fellas
I definitely need good back pack 😎🤙🏼
@@brentandspencerfpv8097 right on bro 😁🤙🏼 by any means necessary
@@brentandspencerfpv8097
Stay Fly bro 🦅
@@brentandspencerfpv8097 ^^^ Good tip.
A battery checker is waaaay more important than a motor grip.
I disagree. Both are equally important. You can check the battery level with your quad and use any fabric to protect your hands from prop cuts. So you could do without both.
However, in my case I rarely take out my battery checker throughout the day of flying, but whip out my motor grip every time I need to swap a broked prop.
I didn't get the point of a motor grip, but ever since I used one I don't what to spaw props without one.
@@MateuszPolkowski in 3 years ive never need a piece of rubber to grab a motor, but I constantly use my battery checker. When you have a pile of batteries its nice and more reliable to be able to check before you plug in. BF will not give the actual per cell voltage. It will only give you an average based on the cell count it is guessing you have plugged in.
@@bigdatapimp That is the reason I have red, yellow and green TPU XT60 plugs to color code my LiPos empty, storage or full. :D
I can have a ton of batteries that I don't need to check at all while in the field. ;)
I also stick a label on each LiPo with a number and a date of first charge.
And lately I also keep a notebook and a pen to record some notes on my flights like weird things that I noticed with any of my drones to check out later, that I would otherwise forget.
Ok, I'm a control freak. XD
What if I have those popo motors though
Always look forward to the rotor riots weekly uploads. Especially when my man Bubby is featured. Would love to see you make a video on prop choices for different 5” freestyle styles and weighted frames. All my quads are heavy boys (720-760g) and lately I’ve been confused on which props I like lately. I tried everything from low pitch P3s to high pitch 4.7 Gemfans... I’d like to hear your take on it
Yo wassup bro, rn my kwad weighs 780g and I’ve realllyy been loving the HQ 5.1x2.5x3 props! Super super light and low pitched so when paired with the high KV of the drib motors, it’s awesome, super responsive
For me, a must have:
Fire extinguisher. Learned to carry this in my pack so it's always at hand back when I used to fly giant scale planes. Saved several of my friends and even put out a brush fire or 2. Strangely I've never had to use it on one of my planes or quads. I wouldn't be without one. Get a 2 or 3 pound halotron if you can afford it, but the aerosol can cheapies work ok and are better than nothing. I keep 2 in the door compartments of my truck and a smaller one in my backpack.
PS Edit - NEVER use a dry chemical, they will ruin anything you spray with them, you'd be better off stomping out your balsa stick built biplane than spraying it with dry chemical. Jet flyers won't even allow them on the property.
I have a lanyard bc I'm not a mad man, and antennae bc you need them. The rest of this stuff is really meh.. I am a newb and can put my props on without the motor grip. My bag is the same one I use for school because I don't feel the need to advertise that I am carrying around a thousand bucks worth of equipment on me, and I use an old 8mm socket from my rc helicopter tool kit. No special "prop tool" needed.
Awesome video guys. Been keeping up with all of it, keep it up! 👍
First aid kit to bandage all the cut fingers from putting your props on 😁
i have a controller and cant take off the sticks so i found gym bags to be the best, paid $99 for underarmor gym/backpack model .im going out more now that i just grab a bag and go
real tip get a hard case from the dollar store to store zip ties hot glue/lighter and your gopros. also collapsible scissors, just in case you have to bind or pry/cut
Agree with #4 always have spare antennas with you, as for the rest of the stuff you can make do with anything you have to hand, you don't need to buy all the stuff. I have been a big fan of Rotor Riot from the start but it seems to be going downhill these days so jump back 5 years and start again. ( Just my opinion and sill Subscribed )
If rotor riot made a cool lanyard I'd rock it 🤣
I agree with a backpack. Its so much easier.
found my first fpv backpack at ross. looked cool and had the strap things. 20 bucks
Maybe not Top 5 things but definitely a 3D printer. Printing out stuff like gopro mounts, Insta360 Go mounts, ducts for blades, etc saves so much time and $$$.
Good one ^^^ my 3d printer is a must
I also invested in a Shaper Origin. Dude. Get one. Custom carbon plates. You should see the hack I did to my Catalyst Machineworks Taz…
@@thewaxlab thanks. I built a cnc mill about 5 years ago from openbuilds. Great investment.
Aghhhhhh bro holding the prop 😂😂
🤢
Lol. I got a 30$ backpack from eBay. It took 3 months to come in from China. But it has been holding up well for the last year and a half😂
Good chemistry with these two. Good video.
Dictionary: "accessory: a thing which can be added to something else in order to make it more useful, versatile, or attractive."
So I wouldn't class antennas as an accessory, much like I wouldn't class props as an accessory.
Backpacks designed for drones are a perfect example of an accessory because you can use other types of bags.
Y’all better not say DJI FPV
I think you only forgot one ting: Cable Ties!!! 😁 Other than that this was a hell of nice and funny episode as every time !!!
A lot of sd cards!
If you drop your radio when your flying that’s another problem in it’s own... leave that as just that lol
Dude radiomaster tx16s, for example, is kinda heavy and if you pinch you are basically holding it up with only 4 fingers. I fly like shit without a lanyard because my hands are super tense from holding it
Motor grip.... you mean man hands? Hahaha the little wee man hands ain’t gone cut it. For those of us that work with our hands, it’s a non issue
Kage is 5 and changes all his own props.... wee hands cut it!
@@karbonroryfpv6897 maybe the question should be, are you stronger than a 5yr old hahaha
I use jewelery box for my soldering gear.
Hello Kitty backpack check
steele would love that
Lawn chair instead of lanyard for me.
Holy shit, I thought I had this on 2x speed when it started. Bring the energy down a notch
You can fly behind yourself , that is how patch antenna works it has small blob or range behind you SIDES are the weakest point of signal
Sometimes you have to work with what you have. If life gives you lemons, use them to screw on your props.
A simple $4 dollar battery checker is a must!
Use a piece of used bike tire as motorgrip. Doesn't cost a thing as you would probably have thrown the tire away if unrepairable
Liking the "new" guy btw. Great cast guys!
Use popo motors and I still carry a prop tool.
Will the shirt make me fly better?? And is an antenna really an accessory or a necessity lol
battery checker
Its okay Bubby I am still using pliers. lol
I have a buddy that uses a laundry basket to the field!
Bubito is such a great actor lol!
I find him super annoying lol
@@sleepyheadfpv1507 🤪
I click so fast becouse of thumnail anywys its helpfull for new pilot
Love your vids they are helping me get into fpv❤️❤️
Why is the kid in like every episode now. Lol
A portable soldering pen, tube of solder and spare GoPro lenses.
Been waiting for this vid!!!
So much fun! loved this! bubby killin it
You don’t need fancy prop tool , I use wrench and it’s fine
Electric skateboard better be on here
^^^. This. My onewheel is the best drone retrieval tool.
Way is efri dron aut of stuk i dint get won on may birtay last wek xd
That was like a weird FPV infomercial! Hahaha! Just kidding... nothing but love. Did great for forgetting to do an episode!!! I like how Shawn was schooling my son 🤣
Fun as always, and thanks for the skateboard backpack tip!
Bubby is a joy to work with. We have a lot of fun together. :) “work” probably isn’t the right word for what we do. Lol.
For me it's a chair or a bench or something else to sit on. I will literally fall over if I don't have anything to sit on whilst flying.
Hello all pilot fpv ^^
Hi
LiPo USB discharger is the ultimate accessory guys....
Why the hell you throw the radio out of your hands? And why crashing makes you by reflex make you throw the radio?
I use a grippy battery strap to hold the bell while I tighten prop nuts. Not sure who gave me that tip, could have been Rotor Riot! :)
And the drivel continues from RR..
1) it's an 8mm drive.
2) No one has ever needed a motor grip - here's a little advice, it doesn't need to be that tight. When you nip it down and the motor starts moving in your fingers, stop trying to tighten it further.
3) There is nothing wrong with using tupperware. Yes, a bag would be easier but it's not an "essential"
Basic things needed when going flying
1) A big bag of batteries - this way you can keep flying and learn how to fly
2) A charger to keep charging the batteries - (if you have access to a field battery/ deep cycle battery even better)
3) A good quality soldering iron - A TS100 is a staple choice and I love mine.
4) A good quality tool kit - An iFixIt is perfect, or the TBS toolkit, another good one.
5) Spare props - You're gonna crash
6) If you have the spare cash either an additional drone or spares of your current rig, (motor, top plate, arms, nuts, spacers)
i hate lanyards! XD
Hahahaha or electrical tape 🤣🤣🤣
You need field charging...
I would disagree with backpack. If you value your radio and your equiopment, a backpack is a great way to ruin your gear. An example would be a backpack in the hatchback/trunk/bed of your vehicle. Yea just let it fling around all willy nilly. If you going hiking to get to your spot OK but if your going to drive to your spot hop out and fly well then store your investment in a somethin of quality storage and foamed out. Just my 2 cents
Guys, you forgot a Camping Chair!!!!
Hey drib you can just drop in!
who are the haters ?? funny to see that a 6 min video get dislikes within the first minute after beeing published ;)
Maybe they're looking at their DJI fpv drones with broken arms and are experiencing buyers remorse.
The battery meter.
you forgot about a Gopro
Yup. GoPro is a must. Good one
Better chase things next time again 🤷
2:00 Don’t buy a torvol, jeez. I bought myself the pitstop pro and it ain’t even worth half its price. All those sided pockets that look so nice have zero space available the moment you close them, and the bag is heavy and bulky af.
Not recommendable even if it costed 50€ rather than 180€.
Oh it's all about TShirt..🤪
Second drone! Just In case...
Man, I have a plastic container!
WHY ARE THE CAPTIONS IN VIETNAMESE???
Those quick in/out varios are great but there is a reason why parfocal and constant aperture lenses are exists, just ruining the otherwise great content
motor grip is the most pointless tool ever IMO
Yeah just use a glove or something or be like me and have cuts on your left palm all the time
@@neonoir__ I never cut my hands ... like let’sflyRC. I hold the motor and the prop at the same time
Agreed its called man hands
@@fishbonez5670 exactly
Enough with the zoom cuts, shit is annoying zooming in every 4 seconds. Set a focal point and leave it...
Grow up I can’t believe someone is complaining about a new video
#deeppenetration
See what I did there? Can’t say penetration without someone giggling. 😂
