    I don't have the winmau one but I'm definitely going to have to have a look at one after this good vid mate

    I have mine and it’s brilliant for me but it was quite a heavy tool to handle. Some of the points maybe a bit stiff and really hard to turn, for me personally I think it’s worth it for the Craftsman tool.

    I have the Mission Repointer - it works pretty well for the most part. Sometimes you really need to clamp it hard or the points slip in the jaws. I had the Harrows one previously - it’s garbage and the main screw stripped out after maybe only 15 repoints. My next one will be a premium one - maybe one of the Target or Bulls bench mount ones.

    That thing looks top shelf for sure. I have the Mission re pointing tool, and I had to lock-tight some center pin areas because it wanted to fall apart. It works fine now, but you really get what you pay for.

    Just bought this for under £70. Had a £50 Harrows one which, ironically, a set of Harrows Knight darts, that felt like one of the points was welded into, broke completely.
    As you said, I was shocked when I received it, it's a tank! And that tank did what the armoured vehicle couldn't, and pulled that point straight out. Think they were around £100 when they were new, so i feel it's a bit of bargain for a shade under £70. Feels like it would last forever

    Can you do a video please of the process? Not sure I get how it forms the point?

    • @Straightdarts
      @Straightdarts  Год назад

      Already made that video, the link is below. It's just a case of undoing the nuts that hold the point then removed, put the new point in the device, tighten the nuts back up and turn the opposite way. It pushed the dart on to the point. ruclips.net/video/k8bPIOvdIys/видео.html

    I’ve just got the red dragon helix (exact same repointer with different branding) and the thread the barrel screws onto won’t turn but the handle turns fine. Any way to fix without having to mess around sending it back?

    • @Straightdarts
      @Straightdarts  21 день назад

      That thread isn't ment to turn. Screw the dart on to the thread and then lock the point in.

    Hi mate,I bought some brand new gary anderson unicorn darts today (already hit a 180!) And they keep falling out of the board,not bouncing out,but they go in then fall back out ,I have never had this issue before and didn't expect it from darts endorsed by one of the best, any advice? They are 23g ,my previous darts were 23g and never did this

    • @Straightdarts

      Do they have silver points or black points? And are the darts that stay in the board loose?

    • @hgzz961

    • @Straightdarts
      @Straightdarts  Год назад

      @HGZZ Silver points are knows for this. You have to ruff them up with fairly aggressive sandpaper or a stone. I also like yo put the dart in a drill like in this video, but it's not needed, 30 seconds by hand will make a big difference anyway, just not as much. :)

      @@Straightdarts thank you,I also think the board might just be a bit worn ,as I was using another set of darts and 1 or 2 also fell out of the 60 and 20,but none fell out of the 19,18 or anywhere else

    • @Straightdarts
      @Straightdarts  Год назад

      @HGZZ That won't help, but even a new and expensive dart board, silver points don't grip well. You'll never see a completely shiny, standerd silver point of TV. The player will always ruff them up, use black points, or both. :)

      I thought this way when I first started out. Same mentality. All was fine until I clamped a set of barrels too hard. I still have them, MVG’s. They aren’t ruined, but they are defaced at the very least, and one of the onyx points was bent and had to be straightened etc.
      That was the time I said, worth it to me to buy the tool. Not going to risk damaging expensive darts and points just because I can sometimes successfully replace points without the proper tool. Not risking that method on RVB-95’s, or Target Gabriel Clemens etc.
      If I ever ruined my match darts on saving money for the proper re pointing tool, not only did I not save, but lost out in the end.
