For any beginner/intermediate struggling, highly recommend imitating the grip at 4:19 (I believe that's Raymond). The dart just flies straight out without any wobble. Very consistent, just practice controlling it and you'll see results in no time.
Tip - when you have 60 left and you have 1 dart. Aim for the double 20 if you hit it you have double 10 left. Miss the double you have 40 left. Good luck and keep practicing.
Take a look at our videos on mental tricks. There we have addressed exactly this example and how to deal with it. A little teaser: turn negative thoughts into positive ones!
You're welcome! 🎯 Love the energy-New Year's resolutions are the perfect excuse to hit the oche harder. Stick with it, and by this time next year, you'll be hitting 180s for fun! Let us know how it goes. 😉
Forget the string , simply aim 3 darts at 20 section , then 3 at 25 / bull then 3 at section 3 , and try and hit 21 sections in a row , if your a beginner then start with 9 successful throws in a row , then up it as you get better. , good luck 🤞🏻
Funny enough, I recognize those things 😁 I've also practiced the same way as with those strings, but with the difference that thinking of a couple of "lines" to throw in between.
Glad to hear you recognize the technique! 🎯 Maybe we're onto some ancient dart-throwing secrets here... Or we just really love strings and lines! 😁 Keep mixing it up, and who knows? You might be inventing the next big practice method! Keep it up! 💪🎯

We would rather say that it's about building muscle memory to build a sense of confidence in your own throw. In fact, in our opinion, darts is less about aiming and more about the feel of the throw.
Ah, the classic “second dart syndrome”-it’s a tough one! It’s like you’re on a roll and then hit a speed bump. Here’s a quick tip: try focusing on your routine and consistency for that second dart. Sometimes, switching up your mental approach or taking a moment to reset before the second throw can help. And remember, even the best players have their off days. Keep practicing, and you’ll turn that “1/5” into another solid score in no time! 🎯🚀
Thnxs for the tips i have 1 for you put 4 darts in your had instead of 3 so you that you are not starting to walk to the board by the third dart the brain thinks you have another one.
We haven't heard of this tip before, but it sounds very interesting, as many players already move forward with the last dart and thus bring unnecessary movement into their throw. Many thanks for the tip!
Why wouldn’t you do some research first or use a board you see used in pro tournaments. I have a blade 6, not the carbon edition but that’s got brilliant wiring design, I’ve had 5 bounce-outs in probably close to 3k throws and it only cost around £50!
Yes, we know the problem. It's always better to spend a little more to have a board without the overwires. The bouncers can be really frustrating in the long run... It doesn't have to be a blade board. There are definitely good no name boards.
Its called practice people. Forget these vids. Practice practice practice... also, if you never grew up throwing darts or balls then youll probably struggle
At 100 if you aren't that good, maybe triple 16 might be a better thing, if you miss 16 completely, you still have a realistic chance of landing on 8, and if you hit triple 16, then 12, tops....
Nerves can definitely be challenging! Here are a few tips to help manage them: Deep Breathing: Practice deep breathing exercises to stay calm and focused. Visualization: Visualize successful throws to build confidence. Routine: Develop a pre-throw routine to create a sense of familiarity and control. Practice under pressure: Simulate competition conditions during practice to get used to the pressure. Remember, everyone gets nervous. The key is to manage it and stay focused. We have some videos about mental training. Maybe you want take a look ;-)
why use string? the board is divided into sections this is utter rubish, never seen any pro player sugest this method, practice practice practice, and dont just play for the 20 as this is bad. move around the board and always practice your doubles.
„The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.“ - Albert Einstein Keep your brain busy and, above all, give it variety. ☝️
Seriously, what’s different than just throwing at 20 like you do when you play darts. Of course you are going to try and hit treble 20. This video is useless sorry. Talk about what dart to use, how to grip, how to release and then the follow through. Repeat and repeat and then repeat it again.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein We believe it is good for many players to have a change from the usual methods of training such as 501, 121 and so on. Give your brain new tasks and it will thank you.
I didn't find any of those three techniques at all helpful. The 21 darts into a narrow column proved to mentally draining and frustrating. Following the first dart, never happened. Just be positive and don't miss. Really!!!
We really hope that you have tried these techniques for at least a few days, as they can be very effective!! The important thing is that you have fun and don't have to torture yourself to practice them. If you don't enjoy these exercises, that's perfectly fine.
😂😂 Right? Sometimes the simplest advice is the hardest to execute! But hey, if we can master throwing 21 into the 20, we’ll all be pros in no time. Practice makes perfect-or at least fewer holes in the wall! 🎯
Right sick of these videos now. I have been playing darts for 30 years. Yes 3-0 years. I’m a half decent league player and won individual trophies on a county level. Not some wally American that hasn’t got a clue what he is talking about. Reason my darts aren’t going where they used to is simple I’m not in my 20’s anymore. It’s all about practice and muscle memory the more you “try” and get annoyed the worse you will play.its about relaxing and muscle memory imagine an f1 driver tense and pissed off… they aren’t going to win or even make it round a lap. Sorry to burst your bubbles but we’re not pros and we realistically never will be. Consistency is practice and practice is consistency Trust me. Also if you’re on a bad mood before you play it probably won’t be a good training session.
Continued. Tips from someone who knows what there talking about. Throwing consistency starts with your feet believe it or not. If your not stood stable and comfortable and can stand the same way in the same place every throw then your darts won’t reach the same destination. Darts if your a beginner and your darts aren’t even hitting the board try a different weight, stem and flight set up… there’s literally thousands of different combinations to try you can’t pick up someone else’s darts and expect them to work for you. Unless it’s similar to what you actually use. Mental, if you’re annoyed at yourself you won’t get better simple. You can try too hard and it’s actually counter productive. If you’re not enjoying it walk away for a while if you keep hitting crap scores it will make you think negative, in harm in walking away and coming back. Also what is a crap score if your hitting 26 but the 1 and the 5 are actually near the treble 20 or whatever your aiming for then your actually not doing that bad. Also if you can pick your darts out the board with 2 fingers and still hitting bad scores… its more aim then technique. I could go on forever but I wont but remember darts is about your feet and your head not just your arm.
Wow, that’s a lot of valuable insight packed into one message! 🎯 You’ve nailed it on many fronts. Experience and muscle memory are crucial, and staying relaxed and consistent is key-just like an F1 driver needs to stay calm and focused. Your point about feet and stance being foundational is spot on. Stability and comfort in your stance can make a huge difference. And yes, experimenting with different dart setups is essential because what works for one player might not work for another. Mental attitude is another big one. If you’re frustrated, it’s hard to improve, and sometimes taking a break is the best way to reset. Thanks for sharing your extensive experience and tips. It’s clear you’ve put in the time and effort, and your advice is invaluable for players at all levels. Keep enjoying the game and best of luck with your darts!

What a pointless video. The dartboard is literally marked up with things to aim for. If you want to hit something keep aiming at it, it’s really not that difficult.
It is explicitly not a video that deals with the throwing technique. It is about training games that can help you to throw straighter. We would be happy to make a video that only deals with technique, even if this is a tricky subject, as everyone has their own throw and there is no one-size-fits-all solution.

If you think so, that's okay for us. But somehow we can't shake the feeling that you haven't quite understood the point of training. It's mainly about building muscle memory and being able to replicate straight throws as easily as possible. Of course, if you are a player who regularly plays 70+ averages, the video is of no interest to you.
How long did you try out the tips? Or are you just making an assumption that it won't help you? In the second case, that would be an unfair assessment.

The video seems more about aiming not throwing. It seems to assume you instinctively know how to throw the dart.

How many Americans are on the pro darts tour 😂 I’d just watch some darts on TV and just practice.
There are currently only two US-American Tour Card Holders. 🇺🇸Jules van Dongen and Danny Lauby. Both received their Tour Card in January.
Basically just aim for the twenty, and continue to aim for the twenty. Or aim for anything you are softer and repeat.. drink beer.
