Great video Kurt. I've been respointing my darts for about 18 months, i started doing it, just for the look. Now I've got some decent darts i won't be changing (yet 😅) i repointed them with perfect nine, 34mm alpha points and they work brilliantly with the shape of the barrel and my throw. I use the Caliburn Cylindrical repointing tool off Darts Corner, it's a smaller tool than some of the other brands and it cost me about £50. I do change my points more often than usual though, mainly coz of the odd bounce out i get when i play in the garage and the points hit the concrete floor. Keep up the good work mate 👍🏼🎯
Thank you mate, yeah concrete floors do a lot of damage. I had a mate who didn't realise his points were basically flat, I had to repoint them for him
@@MatadorDarts I do try and hold onto the points for as long as possible, but my team mates told me last week to change them as I had so many bounce outs 😅
Have the Winmau Craftsman. Managed to bag it recently for just over £70 notes. It really is a beast and I believe it will last forever. It makes removing even the most stubborn points a doddle.
@sag2974 They're the best repointer on the market for me. Easily worth the extra £20-30 you pay for it
Plain black points all day long. Stick in the board well, and don't chew your board up. Just recently used my Craftsman to repoint my Designa Firestorm's with 38mm mission glide black points. Perfect for me 👌
Apparently you can also use a pop-riveting tool as well…
That is true but it's best to use the proper tools, they're a lot easier and safer for your barrels
Can u personalise the SP darts so u can put normal points in them? Like example removing the threads.
You can jam normal points in but in most cases it ruins the threads
Good video, mate. Currently waiting for my repointing tool in the post! 📦🗜️🎯
Thanks mate, they're a little bit of an investment but well worth it in my eyes. Especially if you can do some sets for friends and get a free drink or two out of them
@@MatadorDarts Great idea, though my all my friends are either casual darters or don't play at all. 😅😅
I get quite a lot of bounce outs is there anything I could do to stop getting so many? I went down from using a 35mm point to a 26mm and it’s helping but still a lot of darts lost to the floor, any tips would be great 🙂
@@AThompson77654 It depends on your throw most likely. Some people have a throw that causes a lot of bounce outs either because it's not powerful enough or the angle of entry is too high (point points downwards too much)
@@MatadorDartsI’d say that my throw is quite a weak throw so that will be it. Cheers
Try sharpening your points or turning your board
Sucks I bought 40mm points and they don’t sell mission 45 mm points cause when u push them in the barrel you loose some of the length Urgh I wish I got longer 45 mm so I could have a true 40mm like Swiss points
No pun intended here but what is the “point” in buying 44mm points and cutting them down when you can just buy 42mm. Sorry but going through that hassle for the sake of 2mm just seems silly! You would never notice a 2mm difference. That’s strange that you do that.
@SpoofReviews I buy 50 and cut to 44mm. When you play a lot the difference in a couple of mm is noticeable. Also when I was using 44mm points, 42mm in plain silver weren't available anywhere
@ which player uses 44mm? There must have a reason for such a specific length. Was it MVG? Btw does anyone know which length he actually does use?
@SpoofReviews a few players. Damon Heta was using them, he was probably the biggest name
I’ve had a designa Repointer and mission Repointer, don’t recommend either
@@jasonheneghan8364 interesting, lots of people swear by the designa one. I have this winmau one which I use all the time but also a harrows one which I take to tournaments etc if I travel as its smaller.
Had mission one for ages, works perfectly
@@jeremyfraser976it locks on me, won’t move either way
@@MatadorDartsDesigna was good but somebody done my points for me with too much force and it broke easily
I though this was a demo video, not a commentary/monologue. Would have appreciated more videos showing the how, instead of a talking head.
There's plenty of tutorials out there. This video was more aimed at people who are beginners and probably don't even own a repointing tool amd aren't aware about points being changed.
@@MatadorDarts ignore this melt, great video.
