I’ve going on my tenth cruise this year and I’m only 14 So here are some of my tips: If you have kids or teens and your going on a bigger cruise line make sure they go in the club suitable for their age they will need to be signed in and out for the younger ages usually under 11 but older they will not need to be this gives you time to relax without your children ( I know this though my parents) Also make sure you always have your cruise card but DONT PUT IT ANYWHERE NEAR OR TOUCHING YOUR PHONE it deactivates it that’s the reason I suugest getting Langlards go to the ships shop get one with the cruises name on it so you have a keep sake for that cruise
Correction, always take your passport with you when you get off the ship in a foreign country and leave a copy of the main page in the safe on the ship. If something happens and you can't get back on or if you miss the ship, you WILL REALLY want to have that with you or your problem will be much bigger and way more expensive. Just FYI.
I can understand both schools of thought i cruse from Australia and have never been crusing into internationial waters to need my passport . How would I get home with just a colour photocopy of my passport? Wouldn't it be easier with the physical document ? Any advice would be of great help- as I hope causing is something I get to do again as I did love it and miss it - although with the Australian government they may never let it resume again much like the US cdc.
@@davidyoung3237 My thought is the likelihood of missing the ship when it leaves is greater than having someone steal your passport. Wear a waist pack to keep belongings hidden under your shirt or waistband. Don't wear flashy jewelry to attract thieves. If you miss the boat due to a traffic accident, ect. you'll be glad you have your passport to get home. Having a copy on the ship will just speed up processing in the event the original is lost or stolen.
FYI In the US you can get a Passport card for $10. I keep my passport locked up and carry the card with me. It will provide the identification that you need a passport for without risking your p[assport.
You are spot-on correct on #6. Some of the most wonderful people who have become dear friends are the friends I made on NCL Escape at Vibe Beach Club. There were about 15 of us that bonded, from all over the UK and US, all over the age spectrum, and we just clicked (thanks to the 3 bartenders there) and still keep in touch. Several of us are doing some reunion cruises as well.

I love you guys! This is the best cruise channel. Have to admit, on my first (and only so far) cruise in 2017, I had a lot of trouble with the boat vs. ship thing. And people did NOT like it. Lol Keep up the good work!
Always enjoy the ship tour and the "special" receptions. Started getting the beverage package so not quite as excited about the free drinks now! We also found the laundry to be fascinating.
All these videos are truly making me rethink that I booked a cruise in late 2021... I am worked out and severely toned, you bet your ass I am sleeping with my drapes wide open, and WILL enter my balcony naked in the morning... I don't care, I know I look good... I fear my cruise is going to be filled with older out of shape people... I am introverted, and I do not like having small talk with people...nor do I care about people or their status, or the captain,... the only fun fact I enjoyed was the second one... I really should have just went home to Europe for two weeks instead...but I guess trying something new will be a bit of an adventure. *shrugs*

I learned very quickly the difference between a "boat" and a "ship" on my first cruise. I had just boarded and made a comment like, "Wow, this boat is bigger than I thought!" Crew members around me looked as if I just said something about their mother. Another crew member told me a way to remember the difference: a ship can hold boats (like lifeboats), but a boat cannot hold ships.
Great video, gentlemen! I have tip # 11 for people travelling with kids. I work as Youth Staff on a ship. Take advantage of the "Kids Club" on the ship. Your kids will love it, and you will love the kid-free quiet time poolside also. ;)
Hi Guys! Being fabulous as always! Yes, something we didn't think through re.balcony viewing...... We had a suite on the back (sorry aft) of Celebrity Reflection. We realised that these cabins are sort of in a staggered terrace, but it wasn't until we visited the bar on the top deck, fully aft that it then occured to us that you could see into every balcony with the minimum of leanage over the rails......Whoopsy...!
You're so right about the status thing. I'm Platinum on Carnival and on my next cruise I've decided to tell people when they ask, that is my first cruise ever, just to see what kind of advice I get. :)
Dont expose your bits visit the laundry it’s mind blowing,don’t stay in your room all day,queue for hours to meet the captain,flash your status,meet people you don’t know they are everywhere,tendering wait in long queues to be taken to port,passport you don’t need,dress code remember your clothes,it’s a ship not a boat it’s vital🤔

I was on a cruise Once and I hated, i was a child and my parents pretty much booked an "old folks cruise" so there was pretty much no other kids or kids activities and the only thing I enjoyed was the hot tub but then a worker kicked me out of the tub saying I was too young. It sucked... most entertaining thing to do was order room service lmao
On my first cruise, I did not know anything about tender boats. I learned about it the night before we docked in Cabo (a tender boat port). Luckily I had paid for Faster to the Fun (Carnival) for priority embarkation, priority tender boat
I've only ever been on 1 cruise ( back in the 1990s )......a 3-day Carnival cruise, that I won as the grand prize in a Halloween costume contest. I know as far as cruises go.....it isn't the best.....but I had an absolute BLAST. Basically just circling around off the coast between San Pedro in southern Calif. & Ensenada, Mexico. Having once visited Tijuana ( while in the military in 1974....)...I had ZERO desire to get off the ship in Ensenada THIS time. So while most all of the other passengers disembarked.....I just wandered around exploring the boat.
Even though you don't necessarily need to have your passport at every port, I recommend that you bring it. You never know what is going to happen. If there's an emergency or perhaps you don't get back to the ship before sail away time, you may need it to get out of that country. Just a thought 💁

We were changing for night time on a NCL cruise when all the sudden there are window washers outside window! I dove to the foot of the bed hiding and laughing my but off at the same time. My husband kept peeking from bathroom to see if they had gone. good times!
Oh boy, cruise snobbery... :-( we have booked our very 1st cruise and it will be on P&O's Brittania in Oct and we are both kinda nervous about it (wife and I) . Your videos have given us some idea of life on board cruise liners but still concerned over ports, formal nights etc etc. Hopefully our 1st experience won't be our last and our minds will be at ease within a short time of embarking....
I’m ten almost 11 and I’ve been on 8 cruises only because once you go on one you have to keep going. I am not bragging I just wanted you to know that cruises are amazing not just for kids but more for adukts

But last time got stick on pads from Dr and didn't feel anything and we had some rocky days I never felt a thing. Get some of these for ur wife there amazing.
In the United States Navy a Boat is a Submarine, a ship is any surface vessel on size, a undersized vessel is called a small craft. Love your channel I have subscribed and the bell is ready for ringing. Also do not enter an eating are or lounge covered if you are a US Naval officer, Doing so is such a terrible offense that you will be expected to pick up the check for everyone there. Also do not put your cover on a table or you will ave to pick up every persons check at your table. Thought you might like to know a bit of US Naval Trivia.
The "ship" thing made me laugh. I once called HMS Illustrious a boat (she was an aircraft carrier back in the 80's), I was told, "I will get you a pair of oars and see how far you get rowing it".......... ermm. I got the message loud and clear lol. I really don't understand why some people get some offended by it lol x

On our last Celebrity cruise we had a Canadian King and Queen who lorded over the whole trip. They were at every event, but they didn’t do anything or participate. They just sat there, letting people look at them. Kind of spoiled some of the events really.

I agree about the laundry, they are really amazing and people never believe me when I say it! Every cruise I have been on I have done a behind the scenes, having sailed RCCL most it is funny that I keep following the environmental officer from ship to ship! With dress code, have you both noticed any down turn in people getting involved in theme nights including formal, at least here in Aus I a, noticing a huge down turn in participation and ships are going to sleep much earlier, you would see pro;Le out and about till 2-3am but now you are lucky to find people even in the night club after 12:30am
Lmao! My grandfather was in the navy and he refused to allow someone to call a cruise ship a boat. So I've known that for a long time. But I promise I am not so pushy about it lol.
Hey Shanice. Having a copy of your passport will help. It varies by ports. Some places, especially in European ports, state you need ID with you at all times. The cruise will let you know if you need to take it.
It's all the fault of "Love Boat" that we use the term boat instead of ship. The only person who ever corrected me on this term was the Captain of the ship, when he said I have a fishing boat, but this is a ship. I just use the word interchangeably but agree that Ship is the correct term for a cruise ship. Your video was a fun list as well as informative.
Love the video! What cruise are you all going on next? I went on my very first cruise back in early January and absolutely loved it. It was a 4 day cruise. I am doing a 7 day cruise in July on the Carnival Vista. I plan to try Royal Caribbean cruise later in 2019 or 2020. Which Royal Caribbean cruise do you recommend? My girlfriend and I love to travel.
Our next cruise will be the on the launch of the MSC Belissima. Royal have so many itineraries its hard to pick one for you. They have cruises in every corner of the world so there is plenty of choice.

Never take your passport off the ship ... a copy but not the actual passport
My wife lost all her papers to pickpockets in Rome, I don’t recommend taking your passport ashore, leave it onboard and take only a photocopy.

To be one of the first off the ship to get on port, choose an excursion that starts early. Excursions have priority.

Always pack a day bag for the day of embarkation just in case luggage is slow on arriving at the stateroom or, worse, it gets lost!

With dress code, have you both noticed any down turn in people getting involved in theme nights including formal, at least here in Aus I a, noticing a huge down turn in participation and ships are going to sleep much earlier, you would see pro;Le out and about till 2-3am but now you are lucky to find people even in the night club after 12:30am

Hey Shanice. Having a copy of your passport will help. It varies by ports. Some places, especially in European ports, state you need ID with you at all times. The cruise will let you know if you need to take it.

It's all the fault of "Love Boat" that we use the term boat instead of ship. The only person who ever corrected me on this term was the Captain of the ship, when he said I have a fishing boat, but this is a ship. I just use the word interchangeably but agree that Ship is the correct term for a cruise ship. Your video was a fun list as well as informative.

Love the video! What cruise are you all going on next? I went on my very first cruise back in early January and absolutely loved it. It was a 4 day cruise. I am doing a 7 day cruise in July on the Carnival Vista. I plan to try Royal Caribbean cruise later in 2019 or 2020. Which Royal Caribbean cruise do you recommend? My girlfriend and I love to travel.
Our next cruise will be the on the launch of the MSC Belissima. Royal have so many itineraries its hard to pick one for you. They have cruises in every corner of the world so there is plenty of choice.
