      Exactly. We have different roles. That doesn’t make us less. The women in my church hold private bible studies, one on one discipleship, smaller prayer meetings etc. however they do not lead worship and do not preach or teach to the full congregation. That’s just how the Lord instructed.

      @@jcbb3787 The "keep silent in church" thing has a lot of people up in arms. And it needn't do. The entire premise is that The pastor is supposed to teach the men, and the men teach the women. The whole idea being, why would a woman ask the leader something in church when she can just ask her husband when she gets home. Generally speaking, we don't tend to observe that teaching too much these days, I"m a single woman, so I ask questions, often i ask the pastor via SMS, and he sets up a meeting and we discuss it. When we have bible study pretty well everyone asks questions. We believe that specific teaching refers to what we'd deem our "sunday meetings" and most certainly does not pertain to worship. The very suggestion that women should "keep silent in church" during worship would render many of Gods instructions with regards to worship as null and void if only men could worship. Its interesting to note that in my church we have two prophetesses. One of whom also has the gift of interpretation. We have to acknowledge that the scripture clearly does not require them to "remain silent in church" when under the unction of the Holy Spirit. Its not a hard and fast teaching, but one that has to be understood in the context it was meant by.
      Our roles aren't less. they're different.

    I never understood the myopia, on this subject. Egalitarians seem to speak as though ALL men get to be elders and church teachers, and that Paul’s writings discriminate against women, specifically. No. *Very few men* qualify, according to the Epistles. And *then* those few, qualified men face greater judgement, yes? It seems to me that those who argue for egalitarianism do not have a healthy enough fear of the Almighty. Paul says these things so clearly, woe betide the women AND the unqualified men who stand at His pulpit in rebellion. I’ll be content to be silent, thank you very much. 😅

We are all created equally wonderful in Gods eues, DESPITE disparities in wealth, health, status, or rolls. The SJWs want us all to have the same everything, but God clearly made us the same value even if everything else we have is different. Happily left a "church" who, one day, trotted out a "Pastor Tina." This wasn't a women's group, it was for the whole congregation (I had been attending a few months, but had never heard of her til then).
    I called the church to ask if perhaps somewhere in the Bible this was permissable. The person--AND THIS WAS SO TELLING--said he didn't have a Bible in front of him (AT A CHURCH?!), but that "Pastor Tina" felt she had a goft that God would want her to share and it was the church's job to encourage that. I said, "with all due respect, shouldn't "Pastor Tina" deny her desires in favor of what the Lord requires for church leadership as presented in Scripture?" "We dont think God would want her to deny her gift" (!?!?!)
    Thank Jesus this lead me straight to a Bible-believing Presbyterisn church that fed my soul and not my ego, that demanded men step up and women support from the side.

I don’t hate this woman who was speaking to me, as she was using emotion and not the Bible to foster her argument. Prayer for all the future witnessing moments I have would be greatly appreciated. A position within a church that carries with it the authority to make decisions must be held by a male. Many Baptist churches around me have a head pastor, a few staff, and deacons. I find it to be a bad practice to use the word deacon in place of elder as it leads to confusion. The real problem in these churches is that many church choices are left to a church wide vote, completely removing any power from the eldership and putting it in the hands of anyone who is a 'member'.

    Hey Rick!!...Awesome video Mr. Dude. I know as strong women we want to be able to share our love and passion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We should definitely do that, but we need to remember God himself put down an order of leadership both at home, and in society. We are to submit to the husbands, not to be ruled over so much, but to be taught and protected. If a man is submitting to God and honesty trying to follow God's commands, why would we not submit to him and trust he has our best interests at heart? The same in the church. God clearly said men should Pastor churches and Church deacons are to be men. That is what Paul said...we can't change it just because we don't like it . It does not make us less than, or weaker than males. It just means God has other intentions and roles for us females. I know my opinion isn't popular. I don't always like it. I come from an abusive past, I know it can be hard to submit and feel safe and valued. But,, in my opinion...we have to. We need to trust God will put us under kind and gentle, but firm male leaders, both at home, and in church.
    Ok, Mr. Vest Dude....God be with you always. 🙂 🙏 ✌.

    It's so sad to see women in the Church grasping at straws and sounding so desperate to place themselves in a position that God, nor Jesus ever assigned to them. These women need to take Paul's advice. He told the church that not everyone should be teaching because those of us who teach are judged more strictly than others. And every time that I hear a woman open her mouth and say things like what she was teaching, it just confirms the fact that they are the weaker vessels and need to be submitted to a man. No matter how much the Lord allows women to do in the Kingdom and in the Church; no matter all the gifts that they can have and the impact that they can have teaching Christ, it never seems to be enough for them. No, they want to be equal. And unfortunately, God will never allow a woman to have authority over a man in his Church. They just need to accept it and let him use them in the capacity that He can.

      @@PoliteLeader It says 15 minutes to read, that was enough to read the introduction though. So far it gives me a really strawman taste; his response to CBMW is that it works from a defense position to preserve some complementary roles, but fails to recognize that men and women have distinct purposes in life. I think that this response is willfully uncharitable to CBMW by highlighting that they do not recognize these purposes, but rather think/talk about roles. To do so he intentionally downplays the significance of the word role and contrasts it with purpose, an approach that is just playing with words to make a point in my view.
      Whether you call it roles or purposes, the CBMW does recognize that men and women have different roles/purposes, and that our culture at large is rejecting these. Then he goes on to state that society as a whole is left out of the statement and calls that negligent. That is simply because he is holding a wrong idea of the Church's role/purpose in society, not because the CBMW is lacking in their statement. The Church has never had the calling to rule over society, but rather to reflect Jesus towards a godless society. The CBMW therefore took the intentional position to not enforce Christian values onto a godless world. Such a situation will not occur in this world, but in the one to come.
      All in all I think the article is distorting the complementary view in order to push another view. Say if the world is at 1 and the Church should be at 10, complementarianism is a 9 but the article's view is an 11; neither is closer to that 10.

If she is promoting "prayer walking," she is dabbling in dangerous doctrines. When I was in a Pentecostal church, we did prayer walking. While some engaged in this practice may not get into the "demon" aspect of it, the "normal" practice does stem from the belief that demons are local or regional and that the prayer walkers are reclaiming that location or region for Christ (basically, casting out demons over a geographic location by walking through that location while praying for deliverance for the inhabitants).

      “Now Deborah, a prophetress, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at the time.”
      Huh.... look at that.
      Who was Judging the people of Israel? Who was it? What was that person’s name?
      Again, that was found Judges 4:4. In the OT. The Bible.
      And just so we are clear about what a Judge is and who appointed Judges over Israel following the conquest or “almost” conquest of the promise lands via Joshua’s campaign:
      “Then the Lord raised up judges, who saved them out of the hand of those who plundered them.
      Judges 2:16
      I’m not even going to entertain the rest of your comment as it is all conjecture unless you got sone sort of Bible verse to back it up.
      And, seriously, please don’t comment if you’re not going to use or even recognize scripture. I’m not interested in your denominational background or theology or what your pastor told you about this subject, Scripture, God’s word...out of the Bible is all I care about. Its all that matters.

      Mark. Deborah was a Judge. She Judged over Israel. Israel was God’s people. Context! Context of scripture. You can do it using reverse logic too. Who was Deborah the Judge over if not God’s people? No liberties here...
      Again, no scripture., I quoted scripture and gave you the verses. Your responses:
      #1. Based on your own commentary on some twist logic about Judges and ruling over God’s people. What? Keep in mind, we are ultimately talking about women and if they can be elders in the church? So what’s with this weak argument about semantics. (Judge is a Deliverer vs Leader, they were not rulers? ) Judges, Delivers, Elders, Pastors, these are all leadership roles. Who said anything about rulers? Women cannot be elders because they where never rulers? So you think church elders are the same as rulers? Ruling over God’s people? What like kings?) oh my Lord, what a mess. Nooooo. (I can’t believe I’m even entertaining this).
      Judge in this context is a leadership role, seriously look it up in the Hebrew if you need to. Samson was a judge and led Israel for 20 years. That’s not my logic or my opinion, that’s scripture (Judges 16:31 NIV). See what I did, that”s called backing your argument up with scripture. I’m not trying to be mean, but it just amazes me how people, Christians know very little about scripture. Sorry to say, but That’s how my arguments will always Trump your human logic. The fact that Samson did a horrific job as a leader does not mean he was not a leader (judge) who led Israel. He did lead Israel, how do I know he led Israel, because of Judge 16:31 and if you actually read the book starting in chapter 13, it tells you the entire story of how bad of a job he did LEADING Israel. At not point does the story say “he no longer led Israel” at least not until his death. Seriously, we are not talking rocket science here. Mark you are killing me.
      Your argument #2 and #3 are purely based on your denomination and doctrinal beliefs.
      Fine. The body of Christ consist of multiple members. That;s why there are thousands of Christian denomination all over the world, Catholics, JW’s Pentecostal, Methodist, Baptist (which I’m guessing you hail from) Mormons, Greek Orthodox, Coptic, all with their own rules of do’s and don’t. Different beliefs, some more legalistic some more grace-based.
      And let’s be clear. If you and your church hold to this doctrine of women oppression, that’s fine with me. I have no problem with it. To each his own, we all need to stand before the Lord and give an account of our own actions, so it doesn’t bother me either way. I just posed the question. At least the other guy who commented used scripture. You? Nope. Not sure how you can talk about the Bible without using the Bible. That says a lot about you.
      The Bible (both OT & NT) is always the final authority. Not your doctrine. If your doctrine doesn’t square with Bible then, either your doctrine or the Bible is in error. Which, I reason, is why you provide NO scripture. Seriously, it’s a great book, you should read it some times, or are you afraid of what you’ll find?
      If you won’t use scripture and just doctrine, that’s fine, but You should be honest and say so. I could respect that position. Something like, “I know God had appointed women as Judges in the Old Testament to lead his people, but because Paul said that women should not be elders in the Corinthian church because they were too disrupting in the Corinthian church services and since these woman in Corthin had this issue of distracting people and asking questions to their husbands instead of waiting till they got home, this is solid grounds to change things up and NEVER ever, under any circumstances allow women any sort of leadership role....ever. Christians should ignore the OT when it does not agree with our teaching and we should limit and restrict women’s role because the God we serve changed his mind about many things and women leadership from the OT to the NT is one of them.
      Obviously you use your theology to drive your believes instead of God’s word. Hey, that’s fine, to each his own. Just know that that’s what you are doing.

    • @kali8085
      @kali8085 3 года назад

      @Mark OnTheBlueRidge
      No Mark. I’ve mentioned this more than once. You can’t say you gave me scripture without quoting a book, chapter or verse. That is not “giving scripture”, that is giving your commentary, which I previously mentioned, I’m not interested in. Bible doctrine should not be based on opinions or commentary, they are based on the Bible and identifying where and which and what scriptures you are using to base your doctrine on. If you think major Christian doctrine can be based on the commentary of man and not scripture, then own up to it and admit that that is what you are doing.
      I knew this was going to happen.
      You gave me an exact quote when God stated the role of Judges in Israel? You did this without giving a verse or chapter or book? An “exact quote?” If you gave an exact quote without quoting scripture, who exactly did you quote? Are you saying you have the ability to quote God without using his word (the Bible)?
      The bottom line is that you have, thus far failed to answer my question.
      In the OT God appointment Judges as leaders over the people of Israel. His people. One of those judges was a female. It’s a leadership role (judges). This post is about women not being about to have leadership roles in the church per Paul via 1 Corinthians 14:34-35. Even though when you read these verses, it says nothing about women having or not having leadership roles, just that they shouldn’t be talking to their husbands during the church service. How people get that is beyond me, fine. Whatever.
      My question is what changed between the OT and the NT? Did the coming of Jesus restrict the role of women?
      Your answer was Deborah was a Judge but did not ruler and because she did not rule, she was not a leader.
      Me: Okay, you claim that being a Judge and operating in the capacity of Judge, as in the case of Deborah, is not a leadership role because she was never a ruler over the people of Israel. Okay. where’s the scripture backing up your claim?
      You: I did give you scripture. I gave you an exact quote.
      Me: Without using scripture? What was the book, chapter and verse? You can’t give or quote scripture without a scripture reference.
      There are no scripture reference that state that Deborah was NOT a Judge or that God did NOT appoint Deborah as a Judge, as he did with all the other Judges in the book of Judges, or that the role of being a Judge is NOT a leadership role.
      No scriptures in the Bible are available to directly back up your claim like they back up my claim.
      You can take scriptures out of context or pretend the position of a Judge is not a leadership role and play with the semantics of words, but in the end. You have a doctrinal position that loosely works using Paul’s 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 in the NT but is incompatible in the OT.
      Regarding my original question, I see a scriptural contradiction. Can you or can’t you prove otherwise using scripture? Not commentary or you church;s position, scripture? Yes or no?

    of course women can be elders. Ephesians 4;11-12 says "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:" These verses show that God chooses apostles from among people. women are not discriminated, women are not excluded. also, if the Bible talks about women prophetesses then why not apostles, pastors teachers and evangelists? what is the role of those in the office of prophet pastor teacher and apostle? teach and equip saints for ministry. so this one passage of Scripture proves that women can teach and preach and be pastors prophets apostles evangelists and teachers and have authority over men. just as men. if of course God called a given man and a given woman to the office of fivefold ministry.
    in romans 16;2 we read that Phoebe was a helper in the church. the word helper (succourer) in greek "prostatis and means: properly, a woman set over others.
    b. a female guardian, protectress, patroness
    It all depends on the maturity of a person, not gender. when a person serves people in their place where God puts them and they are faitful, full of love, mature then God can use them more and more and makes them a vessel for honorable use. the below verse shows clearly that the person themselves decides whether they are ready for honorable use or not by their pure holy faithful life. gender has nothing to do with that
    2 tim 2;21 "So if someone cleanses himself of such behavior, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart, useful for the Master, prepared for every good work."

      @Joseph Logsdon Hi Joseph. I would strongly agree with Carol. Dr. Wright is not a sound Christian scholar by any means. His understanding of Paul's doctrine of justification is heretical and he often makes outlandish statements such as claiming Lazarus was not really resurrected from the dead.

    Can't some see that Paul's letters are mostly false? Seek Jesus' words, he spoke with women and treated them with respect. In Genesis, mankind is Male and Female alike. So many distractions from Paul. Disregard his words and only trust Jesus. So many try to explain away Paul.

    Polite Leader...and why do you think that scripture is based on Patriarchy? Is it the word of God, or is it mere Middle Eastern misogyny as practiced by the Hebrew race since its inception, and is still present today in the Near East and especially in the Muslim lands.....we are speaking of spiritual things here, not mere anatomy....our female priests, deacons, and BISHOPS in the Episcopal Church are as learned, pious and spiritual as any male prelate I have ever met....(moreso than in many evangelical style parishes)....
    Enlightened thinking in this regard is not anti scriptural nor anti Godly....women are not property on a par with good cattle as they were in the Old Testament any longer...they are brilliant, well educated human beings, nothing less.....

    • @PoliteLeader
      @PoliteLeader  3 года назад +1

      @David Davenport Hi David. Thanks for your comment. Patriarchy is not misogyny. The two terms and concepts are mutually exclusive. Patriarchy means father rule while misogyny means hatred of women. I believe that the Scriptures as a collective whole teach patriarchy because in the Bible, the leadership duties in the family, the church and human society are under male authority. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the infallible Word of God and they are not based on Ancient Near Eastern misogyny. There is no meaningful parallel between the ancient Hebrew civilization and the modern Islamic states. Islamic rule is dictated by prescriptions laid out in the Qur'an and the Hadith, not the Hebrew Scriptures. In fact, I would argue that the author of the Koran was incredibly ignorant of the Hebrew Scriptures in general. The Scriptures do not draw the hard line of distinction between the physical and the spiritual as you are attempting to do. Though men and women have many, many things in common, the sacred writers consistently teach that the natures of both men and women are unique because of both biological and psychological differences between them beginning at Genesis 2. There is no question that there are highly educated Episcopalian women. However, I would strongly challenge the assertion that female priests and bishops are pious and spiritual. According to Paul, they would be impious and fleshy because they are in direct disobedience of the apostle's instructions laid out in 1 Cor 14, 1 Tim 2 and 3 and Titus 1. I reject the idea that women were treated like property or cattle in the OT. Your statement assumes facts which are not in evidence. Women are brilliant and educated. It was a woman who invented the windshield wipers. But brilliance and high education alone does not mean a woman is qualified to be a pastor, elder or overseer of a church. I hope this comment finds you well.

    So if I get this completely correct, women are not allowed to teach men, and they are not to speak in church. They are not allowed to be elders in the church; they have NO voice or input.

    • @carolberubee
      @carolberubee 3 года назад +6

      _"They are not allowed to be elders in the church; they have NO voice or input."_ That reminds of me of Genesis 3 where the woman says to the serpent that God said they were not to eat of the fruit, _nor were they to _*_touch_*_ it._ Well, that's not what God said. The woman added that latter restriction. Don't be like the woman in the Garden; don't put words in God's mouth; be content with, and obey, what He has said; enjoy the liberty He has given you.

    • @PoliteLeader
      @PoliteLeader  3 года назад +7

      @Brandt L Hi Brandt. No, I'd say you do not have it completely correct. Women are not allowed to teach men in a formal context like worship, Sunday school, a Bible study or a conference. They can provide their words of wisdom on blogs, podcasts, etc. The office of elder is restricted to qualified males only. Women do have a voice and input which is why Jesus taught women and Paul said "let the women learn". They are to come alongside their husbands and teach their children the Sacred Word accurately.
