- Progressive Christianity is a false, heretical and dangerous movement within Christendom today. Many Progressives deny the essential doctrines of the Christian faith including the deity of Christ, penal substitutionary atonement and the bodily resurrection. Basically, progressive Christianity is based on emotion, not doctrine. If a progressive Christian finds a certain doctrinal teaching to be emotionally appealing, they’ll believe it, but if they don’t, they’ll discard it.
I still do not understand the shift from reason/senses towards emotiona, historically spoken. It seems to me that Schleiermacher rejected Kant. What do you think?

@@lovehandles2464 Not sure what Evangelical Church you've been too but that statement can't be generalized. All Churches should fear the Lord, that's correct. You are to come to him with Fear and Trembling. Not the Fear that you think, It's more of a respect, an awe, a submission to him. An understanding that he is the Almighty God, Holy, Powerful, and none is like him. You cannot come to him as you would come to an ordinary human.
You can't progress something that doesn't change, and the Word of God does not change

@@jennywidner4889 that is true, because no human or animal or other things of this world is as perfect as Jesus. that is why it says in the bible that God needed Jesus to die for our sins so that His righteousness and holiness can be transferred to us (which is needed in heaven). But please do not worry because even though Jesus did pray to 'take this cup away from me' (meaning He did get sad of the fact that He was gonna die), Jesus also said 'but not my will but yours be done' (meaning He wants what God wants too). so don't forget, Jesus loves the Father and has compassion for the lost souls (the people) that is why He was willing to die for us all so that anyone who is also willing to believe and trust in Him, will be saved from the pains of hell. Otherwise if Jesus didn't love us that much, then He would have easily said no to death and ran away with His own life to somewhere far. But the truth is, He didn't. so uhh, I'm not that good at explaining but i hope this helps you or anyone understand ! 😊 have a nice day !!
Progressive Christianity literally scares me, the fact that they deny most of the bible scares me, and the fact that people who are new to the faith are influenced by them and are carried away by their heresy is just insane. They need out prayers so much!😔😭

I think you people need to read 1 Thessalonians 4:11 Study to be quiet and mind your own business. This is NOT a theocracy and it is none of any of your business what others think or believe! Jesus taught us to love all of our neighbors. He taught forgiveness, grace, mercy, empathy, understanding, charity, compassion, and not to judge others! That's not what fundamentalist nor evangelicals teach! They teach fear, Hate, judgement, condemnation and exclusion!!!!! They teach that this wrathful God is just waiting at any given second to smite you with a big ol baseball bat if you screw up and cast you into Hell to burn forever! The Bible says Gods grace and mercy endures forever! How long is forever? Until you screw up? And if you have to have the threat of Hell to be a good person and to stay inline then YOU ARE NOT A GOOD PERSON! When I asked why are you a Christian to people they almost always answer because I don't want to die and go to hell. Wow! That is a horrible reason! The answer should be because they believe in the message of Jesus Christ!which teaches to love everyone, to help everyone in need, feed people, cloth them, house them, make sure people can get their medications and have what they need, but not we cant do they because now they say its socialism! It should be because they love Christ. But it is not! It is now if you don't look like, think like, believe like or if there are any differences that differ from yours then they are excluded and are a heretic! And btw, evangelicals and fundamentalist are running people away! Now those preachers are saying they are trying to get away from God, NO THEY ARE TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM YOU! Just look at all the religious abuse and trauma! also look at the things they teach in churches that were NEVER taught in the church prior to the mid 1700's and 1800's which started here in the United States! Look at the damage that has been done to others? Do these people care? No! They only care about themselves and what they think and believe! They are not concerned with the horrible things that have been done in the name of God that have harmed millions! So as a progressive pastor of over 35 years of active ministry and someone who has an earned DTH and who actually does what Jesus said to do like feed the hungry, take care of people who need caring for. Our church helps people keep their utilities on, buy food, medications, buys new clothes for those in need, etc. What do these evangelicals do? I'll tell you: hate, judge, fear monger, make up lies and conspiracy theories, divide people by making people angry telling people everyone who is not a republican is evil and they hate God and want to destroy you! Do you hear Jesus in any of that? All you hear is don't wear a mask, don't take the vaccine God will protect you but lets get us a gun! So if God will protect you from Covid then why do you need a gun? Then you have those who say it's hoax and kick people out of church for wearing a mask! I do not remotely see Jesus in any of that! The evangelical and fundamentalist movement is nothing more that a dangerous cult! The progressives are actually interested in helping people! What do the republican evangelicals/fundamentalist want to do? take everything away they can. Tell me what exactly are they for because we know what they are against! Look at the constant attacks coming from them! Look at how nasty and hateful they act! And that doesn't scare you???? It should! And don't even say well the other side is doing so and so. Now we are not! We are however holding people accountable and fighting back! Lastly, it is you people who need to repent, which means to have a change of mind and you need to have a come to Jesus meeting for yourself with the real Jesus because the one evangelicals and fundamentalist are following is not the real one! Real christians don't do the horrible things they have done and they don't make a deal with the devil to get the things they want like they did with trump! Trump told them in a meeting I will give you anything you want as long as you do what I say and pledge allegiance to me! He told them you keep the people angry! Sir the people up so they will fight for him! And if you ever cross me he said I will destroy you. One of my ministers said they sold Jesus out and made a deal with the devil. My rely was this: There is a scripture in the Bible that says we are like sheep and the sheep knows the voice of the shepherd, another voice they will NOT follow! Well we saw what happened and that leads me to another scripture that says Lord we did all of this in your name and he said DEPART FROM ME YOU WORKER OF INIQUITY, I NEVER KNEW YOU! So they never knew the real Jesus and IF they did they left Jesus to follow another! I hope you people know these people have been lying to you ABOUT EVERYTHING! Please wake up before it's too late.

I get very confused by all these "Christianities". If you can't except the Bible, sola scriptura; JESUS's virgin birth, perfect life, substitutionary death and bodily resurrection, the Church is the Bride of Christ and that HE is coming again and will judge us all, why bother to call yourself a Christian. Write your own book, find your own Savior and pray/hope that you're right. For me, I'll stick with what's proven true and right for the last 6,000 years.

So, the 10 Commandments according to Progressive Christianity:
1. You shall like the Lord your God with some of your heart, and if you're feeling up to it.
2. You shall have no other gods before me unless they make you feel good about yourself.
3. You shall not take the name of thy Lord in vain unless you are really angry, upset, surprised or just stubbed your toe.
4. Keep the Sabbath day locked in a closet because you've got much more important things to do today!
5. Honor yourself; mom and dad don't really count.
6. You shall not murder a good time or someone else's happy emotions!
7. You shall not commit adultery unless you had your fingers crossed at your wedding.
8. You shall not steal unless you want it really bad but don't have the money to pay for it.
9. You shall not lie, but fibbing is permitted!
10. You shall not covet unless they've got something better than what you have.
Progressive Christianity is insane but Sabath is a ceremonial law for the Jews not moral
@@homekey1584 Sabbath is one of the commandments ,not a ceremony law. Also YESHUA HAMASHIACH is a Hebrew who keep the sabbath. There are ceremonial Sabbath that were part of the 613 laws. But the commandment one was not ceremonial. Besides ADONAI gave the Commandments to people, people did not make them up. Read Exodus 20 , Deuteronomy 5. 🙏🗣✝️👥🛐👤🤲. If it is just a Jewish thing we would only have nine commandments, not ten 🧠💔

This progressive movement in Christianity, I believe could probably be a part of the falling away the Bible warned us in 2 Thessalonians 2:3.
So many people that I grew up with have falling away. It's sad to see.
Although it's nothing new is it? If progressive means challenging the historicity of key biblical events this was at it zenith in the 19th century especially amongnst german theologians.
Yes - PC, word of faith, hyper charismatic, NAR movement, etc are false doctrines happening all at once; they all tickle ears and perform signs and wonders. They emphasize the gifts instead of the Gospel, emotional doctrine instead of sound doctrine.

I saw this first hand with a guy I know.
He was an evangelical Christian and part time preacher in my church in northern Ireland. He joined a liberal political party, moved to a more crazy church.
Before long he was attacking anything traditional especially his own upbringing while simultaneously claiming to be working at uniting people.
Last I saw he was in my local city hall demanding everyone declare their support for the blm movement (naturally he's a white guy) and calling everyone who refused racist.
I told him he was a heretic racebaiter and shook the dust off my feet.
Sadly they try to hold hands with the devil just because he gets a few things right.
So much like the Word of Faith theology/Charismatic movement, emotions and experiences supersede the authority of Scripture.

@@Sharonewarnock All I’m trying to say is that the term progressive Christianity is, as I understand it, an oxymoron. If it means a brand of Christianity that compromises the Gospel (that salvation is a doing of God’s sovereignty alone, that we are saved only through what Christ has done, through no meritorious works or dogma), or if it is a brand that claims the Bible is allegorical in scope, gender roles are objective, abortion can be justified, or re-envision what marriage is, or that Christians are to be social justice warriors, then that is not the Bible nor the Gospel. There are several individuals associated with the Gospel Coalition that have compromised much of what biblical Christianity/good theology is; i.e the “social justice “ of Matt Chandler, the pacifism of John Piper, the acceptance of evolution by Tim Keller. I don’t claim to know with certain anyone’s heart, but I do ask that people use the spiritual gift of discernment.

“Why are progressives so afraid of answers?” - I believe it is because the evangelical Christian church has not acted in the ways of Christ. These answers are causing pain. Progressive Christian LGBT folk that grew up evangelical initially feel devastated because they still want a relationship with God, but feel extremely unwelcome by the evangelical church and were in a pickle. Numerous instances of parents disowning their kids, calling them slurs and condemning them to hell. Unfortunately this happened to a friend of mine. We can’t deny that this is happening. The fear that is instilled into someone during this moment is blatantly not of God, and absolutely not something Christ would do. Pushing somebody else away from God through fear tactics is one of the ultimate sins. If you push them away, who will bring them back?
I don’t believe progressive Christianity is a clever loophole for believers to live in sin, but rather is the result of pain, discovering it’s source, all while praying and building a deeper connection to God. Its not just a conclusion you come to after befriending a gay person or reading a book. It’s a long journey. Many people in this comment section are not acknowledging the pain that has been caused by the church and just believe that progressive Christian’s are deliberately choosing to live in sin. I really encourage you all to understand one another. Although I expect to be be disagreed with, let’s encourage each other to act and speak to others with love and not fear, as Christ would ❤️

The more counterfeits there are, the more we all should focus more on the reading, meditating and learning The Word. If you had a job responsible for identifying counterfeit money, should you spend your time studying everything there is to know about counterfeit currency; or should you spend your time learning everything about authentic currency? I play golf often; and meet an array of people. I often share the word with folks I meet. The varying questions becomes daunting at times; and forces me to always look towards The Word for answers. Do this, and you will never truly struggle to see and, answer the false teachings. I love this channel and you all!
Listening to progressives hurts my brain. In the second American gospel I would get so frustrated listening to their “questions” which like you said, were actually their answers that they’ve come up with themselves. You can tell they don’t love God’s Word or trust it.

Thank you, very useful! My denomination (Methodism) is in the process of redefining its church law with respect to marriage, the place of sex outside of covenant love. These changes are couched around inclusiveness and social justice. I am also interested to see where it now goes with regards to other areas of key biblical doctrine. I can only assume it’s on a very slippy slope as it had used a subjective interpretive framework as you set out.
The more I listen to this channel, the more I like it. Calm, well-reseasoned, calm, Biblically sound. These responses are on-point AND not hysterical. This is a terribly needed reference, when interacting with modernist Christians.

Why are they interested in Christianity at all? Would it be similar to why the New Age honors Jesus as the highest holy man, of all religions, but refuses to obey him? Realising how radical and rare we believers are is very humbling, isn't it? A dear old lady at my Presbyterian church yesterday told me that those in other religions have the same God as us, they just call him by a different name. That's pretty "progressive." Big wake up call that the mission field is even hiding in our churches that have expositional teaching.
That Evolution statement is very interesting. Obviously, it's not a salvation matter, but it makes sense that if you start with the inability to acknowledge God created instantly, the way the Bible says, you'll have trouble acknowledging God's Word is superior in other areas. :-(
Why are they interested in Christianity at all? In Western society, infiltrating a Christian church is still a good way for a religious leader to get a paycheck and have a congregation that listens to them. That is one reason but there are deeper spiritual root causes as well.
On Christmas morning (in 2020) 25 progressive Christians disliked this video because it exposed them. Excellent video, brother Alan!!

Question: I see a lot of these younger preachers that talk about the Love of God and Jesus can do this FOR YOU and do that FOR YOU is seems a lot of them talk about Jesus as a Love Genie. but I never hear them talk about the Holiness of God the Father and that we should be Holy, the Blood of Jesus and its importance. or the Holy Spirit or the reality of Hell and even good ppl will go their without acknowledging Jesus as Lord and Savior. To make it abundantly clear these Preacher/Churches are the Liberal Churches your talking about? like say Elevation or Life Changers International Church?

Perhaps the reason all the leading progressive scholars used to be evangelical is because they have personally seen just how damaging and horrendous evangelicalism and sola scriptura is. Oh no, that can't be it. It must just be that they care more about their feelings and justifying their agendas. It couldn't possibly be that evangelicalism has quite literally led to a ridiculous amount of mental illness and harm.

Currently reading "The Ten Commandments of Progressive Christianity" by Michael Kruger and I have Alicia Childer's "Another Gospel" on my shelves to read. I have been confronting this movement for some time, but these resources have really helped articulate what I have been seeing. We need these things to protect the church from such false teachings.
Progressive Christianity is the only true Christianity. God loves everyone, and i pray he will have mercy on you when you have to answer for your hateful behavior one day.
How is it hateful to follow the Bible as written? Progressive Christianity is not true bc it’s based around rewriting scripture to fit your narrative. If you have to change the name of something then it isn’t “true”

I believe God deals with us as individuals not as a group. He may lead one person into the medical field and another into the legal field. When you turn your life over to christ he will lead you in the why you should go. I can see how people would be drawn to a progressive view instead of the present unmoving system.
The Ten Commandments of Progressive Christianity by Michael Kruger is such a good little book providing much clarity.
