Wanted to take away his nephews father but didn’t think he was sentencing his own kid to the same fate. Poetic Justice. Hopefully another man steps up and raises his son to be a good man.

@@lh98 regardless, Poetic Justice. He didn’t know the love a father has for his sons until after he took Dan’s life. Maybe having a kid before Dans murder would’ve given him a little empathy towards Dan in the custody battle.

It’s so true that all the children affected by this - Dan’s 2 sons, KM & SG’s children, Luis’ children, as well as Charlie’s son Roman - are truly victims of adult stupidity. This is all so senseless and tragic.

I would say he IS home. His home, for the foreseeable future, just happens to be a correctional facility

If you think it smells bad where you are Charlie, imagine how it smells where Dan is... If you think you miss your kids charlie, imagine how Dan must miss his kids... Is he even smart enough for the irony? I found it so funny listening to him say "all I ever wanted was to be a Dad" and then on another tape he said regarding his release plans "I was planning on going to a hotel for a couple of days to relax, go out on my boat..I knew where I wanted to go out for dinner". So in his plans to get out of jail, instead of going directly to see his son and hugging him like he would never going to let him go, he is heading to a hotel... That's all you need to know about Charlie.. it's Charlie first and everyone else somewhere in his dust

I'd think prosecutors would want clear audio to use against defendants at trial.
It's so garbled, static, glitching, echo, & underwater.

It's interesting that Charlie doesn't appear to be that upset about the verdict. I think the mom is more upset that the jury didn't buy his ridiculous story is because now they will be looking at her too.

How do you think Dan Markels family feels? They cant ever talk to him again, and he was only guilty of marrying a crazy J.A.Princess... And think about your other co-conspirators like Katherine who got caught up in this madness. I feel a lot worse for her tbh, she was just poor and trying to make some money for her kids...
Exactly what I was thinking!
During Katherine's second or so proffer meeting with the government, she had a period of idle chatter with one of the officers about the surrounding area, Ocala, and what she saw on the drive down.
Sometime during this talk, she remarked, looking out of a window, "I wish I could be that bird.". It really puts into perspective how total her confinement will be.
I feel for people who are incarcerated, but her actions or inaction led to a man losing his life and a family losing a son, father, uncle, etc.
Sins of the father. His poor son.
I hope the boy can rise above this, not following his father's example and grow to be a good man.
