He’s a sociopath on the highest level with ADD. His personality is literally the hardest type of human personality to deal with prison. On top of that he’s an entitled doctor who had a flamboyant life. He’s getting the most ruthless reality check he never expected. Donna is on her way to be exactly where he is at 71 years old.

I think you are correct. The mom is playing a doting parent and hoping to convince authorities that she has no intent to leave because she wants to be here for her son.

I think this was her plan from the beginning because within the first 5 minutes of the interrogation she had already planted the seed about Charlie with the cops. And she also planted the seed several times with the ex-boyfriend in regards to Charlie wanting to give her a divorce present. She's the mastermind she knew it would go down like this and she knew that she would be the one taking care of Dan's money as well as the adelson's money. Her plan is going exactly the way she planned.
