- In this full #review I will explain all the specs of the 2024 #BMW #x1 m35i then take it for a test drive. The x1 m35i is new with more performance out of a turbocharged inline 4 cylinder engine that makes 312 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The Bimmer is sportier with bigger brakes and adaptive dampers but they still have quirks which will bring me to my pros and cons.

Thanks for this thorough review! Im researching possibly purchasing my first BMW. Got my eye on Msport x1 or x2. Still torn. Love the look of both

Before you buy this vehicle, let me point out the error BMW made in its design. On the front grill area where the radiator is located and slightly visible. Designers should have considered to put a mesh grill cover. Just recently purchased the M35i version, in less than 3 weeks of driving on the freeway to go to work. A rock hit the radiator, took it to BMW for service and unfortunately it is not covered on their warranty. Hefty service price to pay 😏

I would go for this
The 2025 JCW countryman is almost exactly the same price too. The 'base' countryman is about 40k. Is it really worth the 10k up charge? The standard X1 compared to the M35i is only 5k difference.
@@stevelouie5928 the difference in price is 9,400, I’ll add BMW specs sheet (base price to base price). Yes it is, I did a comparison video this week which I will post for next week that explains.

You'll find the non blockout sunroof blockage is super annoying on a sunny day

I did because of the price not because of electric and to stress how Volvo has more power. BMW is normally the more performance in any class or price 👍
The reason no one talks about the Volvo is because it is TRASH. Was recently rated near the bottom in terms of dependability. Also, not everyone wants an EV.
I do not want an EV either but even the B5 is quick for the price. BMW makes a great vehicle and its hard to say they do not make the best but a true M would be perfect for this trim
So for $15K more than a regular X1 you get ? Quad tailpipes, artificial sound, fractional second faster, no spare tire, poorer gas mileage, and bumpier ride. And still a lurch or lag from a stop because there is no mild hybrid electric assist. Not a big advance over the regular X1.
Msrp is around 9k difference
But you get 313hp with a 0-60 at 5.2
The xdrive28i is 241hp with a 0-60 6.2
Adding features makes the price more which would do the same on the base trim so 9k more power, styling, m sport brakes , etc I think it’s a good deal but it’s not a vehicle for everyone 👍
My regular X1 at $45K has sport seats, lumbar support, premium package, 18” wheels, basically all but the M-sport package. A similarly equipped M35i prices out at $57K, but has 19” wheels. Personally, lack of a spare tire, bumpier ride, and poorer gas mileage outweighs the opportunity to canyon carve occasionally at a few mph faster.
@@johnbrews9724 like I said it’s not for everyone both are nice vehicles but you are correct this will be more rigid and performance driven which I explain on the review
@HawkeyeRides those are pretty terrible. Even my old 2013 X1 with the 6 cylinder does 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 sec. BMW needs to match the performance with the looks.
@@fooleos personally I would go with the x3 or x4 m competition that is where the performance sweet spot it
