Before you buy this vehicle, let me point out the error BMW made in its design. On the front grill area where the radiator is located and slightly visible. Designers should have considered to put a mesh grill cover. Just recently purchased the M35i version, in less than 3 weeks of driving on the freeway to go to work. A rock hit the radiator, took it to BMW for service and unfortunately it is not covered on their warranty. Hefty service price to pay 😏

@rickrolled2691 I just had a 24 has a loaner, holy s***it's a beast and honestly don't think yiu need anymore power than the m40i. Handles amazing, sounds amazing, isn't too big. Perfect suv imo
I have a dealer loaner of this car, its been fun driving it around. Completely loaded. I almost considered canceling my x3mc order and just getting this instead 😂😂😂

How does it drive ?
Like jay Leno said when reviewing cyber beast: nobody wants a giant key fob in their pocket and premium doesn’t come from being heavy and big. It comes from not having one at all, and working with your phone.
you have the possibility to have one key as a digital key on your phone, so no physical key needed.
Every nice feature is optional...who does BMW think they are Porsche 😮😅😂.
If you were going to buy one, you would choose this new x1 or you would buy the genesis gv70 3.5 sport prestige
We are daytime running lamps awesome. More auto manufacturers need to adopt this feature I believe the only other auto manufacturer to adopt this feature is Volvo. You simply cannot see some cars during the day unless their tail lamps are lit up.
I’ll keep my 22 GLA45. I was hoping it would would be a little more powerful. Can’t go to a slower vehicle. Lol.
Buy a real AMG next time ❤
It has the new m139 hand built motor. It’s almost 400 horse power in a car that weighs 3,600lbs and it’s awd. I destroy my body that has a 2015 c63. Not sure what you mean by real AMG?
I wish the exhaust was similar to the x3 m40i with a little gargle and pops.. but still looks nice and sounds good

I have a new BMW M2 and my key fob is pretty normal. That X1 M35i key fob is as big as a small phone. 😂

Why doesn't M package come standard on a m car? I know its fake M but you pay more for the 35i.
I considered an X1 M35i as it’s a great vehicle but for practical reasons I went with a 2023 AMG GLB 35 and I’m super happy with it.
The X-1 has certainly improved over the years, but I’m quite happy with my Mazda CX-5 Signature, which misses out on a couple of perks on the BMW

This is actually pretty common. They usually just don't make to dealerships before the stop-sale is issued

It's fine now, nothing to worry about. Automakers often do that on vehicle that aren't for sale yet
BMW X1 M35I vs Mazda CX50 2.5T (60hp less but torque is 320 lb.ft)...
Buy a Toyota or Honda and u can drive it til 1 million miles with cheaper repairs and cheap spare parts

It bothers me that for a luxury brand that the price ranges from 50k to 120k that EVERYTHING is an additional option. Things that would be standard equipment on a 30k economy car from Honda or Toyota and probably with a larger infotainment screen.
That has to be the biggest keyfob I've ever seen and not something I would want to carry in my pocket. My guess is the average person would prefer a much smaller keyfob unless they consider their fob as some sort of overgrown fashion statement. Maybe this is ti compensate for the smaller grill.
The fact that the 2024 x1 got a recall after its not even been out worrys me
It's actually pretty common with new cars before they begin selling them to the public. But usually they make the repairs before they make it to the dealership

X1 (subcompact) is not comparable to the Genesis GV70. That would be the X3.
They now sell X1 as compact suv and not subcompact. Moreover, the x35i of bmw and 2.5t of genesis trim versions have similar specs and price range. Very much comparable!
My regular X1 with upgrades to provide an acceptable vehicle with things like lumbar support, adaptive cruise, sport seats, etc ran $45K. Pricing a comparable M35i runs about the $58K of the vehicle tested here. So what do you get for that extra $13K? Quad exhausts, wee bit faster, better brakes, piped in artificial sound. What do you lose? Spare tire, bumpier ride, poorer gas mileage. What doesn’t change? Lag/jerk from a stop. AWD that does not perform when making a turn in snow - simply skates wherever it pleases on a turn.

It should be the 40i, then it would have a i6 in a subcompact suv.

I love the car. Such a nice improvement over the last gen X1. The blinking sequence of the new BMW turn signals gives me an epileptic fit. It’s absolutely atrocious..
@07slade do your 2024 x1 m35 make a shvroommmm noise when last minute braking like braking too late? When I hit brakes too late it sounds like it's still accelerating while braking I bought it brand new and I hear it while in sports mode and personal mode but if I brake slowly I don't hear it

BMW seems to crush every category except their pricing scheme is just ridiculous, should be 10k less than msrp in this vid for a small SUV, but I guess that’s inflation too😮💨

Yes, they option u to death.. then car is double.. buy a Toyota and u will never see a dealer again.. just drive..save money..
You have to keep in mind that Toyota buyers and BMW customers are often very different people. People who want this also want the performance, handling and the badge (and everything that comes with it). They don't care so much about "never seeing a dealer again". They'll drive these cars for a while, trade them in or return the lease and get a new one.
You certainly don't get luxury features on Toyotas.

@@Ken-vl4wkthis is bmw cheapest suv . Don't expect x5 or x7 like features. Kia's cheapest suv seltos doesn't have heated rear seats
@@kevij371 xdrive28i is around 40k. Something like telluride EX $41K will have ventilated front. Plus heated seats is AN OPTION in the X1.

At that price, you are just paying for a brand name. Most other cars in the class come standard with many of the so called options BMW is nickel and diming you for.
