Herp de derp, Main character of the original trilogy, must be written broken. Tired of Luke being OP in legends, it makes it feel like a badly written fanfiction.
This is a great analysis. For people upset that Mace lost, you do realize that Skywalker is basically a GOD in human form right? Just to be his equal in saber combat makes Mace one of the best Jedi ever.
Great video as always. Of course I have a differing opinion on Mace Windu with a few points (use of Vaapad and it effectiveness, assessment of Shatterpoint). For me, physical abilities are not determined by age when it comes to Force users. Or else Dooku would not be able to keep pace with a much younger Anakin and Obi-Wan. Or Master Yoda would not be able to keep pace with Depa Billaba, Saesee Tiin and Plo Koon. One's Force abilities, and by extension, their Force augmentation, determined their physical output. For that reason I would actually give the edge to Luke, but that's just my way of thinking. Your dueling assessment was very thorough, though I would say Luke could combat Vaapad pretty effectively. Force abilities was in-depth as well. Very, very good match up and well handled.
the problem is drawing on the force to augment/Supplement one physical abilities is draining in the same way as any other ability meaning that when pressed or when there focus is broken the augmentation vanishes Dokku is a prime example of this on invisible hand dooku is described how draining augmenting himself to keep up with Anakin is and this drain in the end left him with nothing but his own Physicality, an old man. this is where physical ability becomes a factor in the Vs.
I do agree with you on that physical prowess can't be assesed on age. I do believe Windu was more of weapon in a whole. He trained his body to be a weapon for the light and was much more of a warrior compared to Luke. So I give the physical abillities to Mace aswell, And ye! for some reason you seem to dislike or at least don't think very highly of Mace. Eventhough he was such a skilled and powerfull jedi.
DB6195 Actually Dooku was quite capable in his Force augmentation, and it didn't really hamper any of his other abilities. In fact, Yoda says Dooku was in better shape than men half his age in "Dark Rendezvous" which takes places mere months before ROTS. Months prior, Dooku was still contending with (and outclassing) Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. The situation with the Dooku fight in ROTS is that Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker simply got better. Obi-Wan had become a master of Soresu, while Anakin became a master of Djem So. Dooku could not stand to battle two masters of such forms, which in turn, tired him out. However we know that this is not usually the case for Dooku, as he was already contending on par with Yoda and outmatching Obi and Anakin only months prior: Anakin and Obi Wan vs Count Dooku [The Clone Wars Season 6] So I would still be inclined to say that it is one's Force abilities (specifically in augmentation) which informs their physical prowess ultimately. Or else Sidious would not be able to blitz three masters, or Yoda would not be able to fight with the speeds he does. In the case of Luke and Mace, I would say Luke would actually take a slight advantage because his physical output is far more conservative and his Force augmentation would be more thorough.
I wish people would stop whining about how, "Legends Luke is Over Powered", I mean, his midichlorian count is the exact same as Anakin's, and he was trained by Yoda, AND he had a great control over the Force. Maybe it's just because I'm a Luke fanboy, but to me, people saying "Legend Luke is OP" is an un-intelligent response to anything.
***** EU Luke isnt more powerful than the Father, Son, Daughter. So its not really that unbelievable, and during the processes in which he unlocks these abilities, are shown, and talked through. If you think about it, tons of EU characters were strong like Anakin, but its all explained why, and has depth. Rey is good, out of no where. And it isnt explained. Mind trick out of no where, advanced saber combat, competent force grip. Especially when taking from another opponent, like Kylo, when they were fighting for possession of the saber. Theyre coming up with stuff out of no where. The new canon on Kyber crystals contradicts current "canon" lore. Except if you really look at the beginning of Star Wars it's clear as crystal that Luke was on a completly diffrent level than the ordinary force wielders, he was like his father before him, something completly different. His lightsaber aptitide was even greater than Anakins, who himself with 13 years of training surpassed everyone in the order except for yoda, who had 800 years of training and experience. Luke managed to master what someone will never do in 1 year of SELF TRAINING, by pure instinct and going of instructions in Obi Wans jurnals. Luke has always been one of the greatest lightsaber duelists in galactic History, however unlike Windu he has the force aptitude of enteties to augment his physical attributes by a gigantic degree, Windu would not even be able to react to Luke lol, it's a stomp in all categories where as in the force and all out he can beat him by gesturing.

I fail to see how Vaapad's feeding off of the dark side would be useful in fighting a light sider. It's just a complete non sequitur. It's like saying that heat is the remedy to being cold, and therefore using ice will also warm one up.
I'm in the same boat, vaapad is only useful against opponents fuelling themselves with the dark side, and is not applicable against l Luke, I also think Luke is a better swordsman, and faster. but it was still an amazing video two thumbs up definitely
It's not the case of Vapaad being empowered solely by darkness. At the end, both the Lightside and the Darkside are both parts of THE FORCE. It's a matter of personal philosophies and emotional emphasis that distinguish them. Vapaad is about taking the full power of the Force that an opponent is giving off and combining it with your own power to channel the complete package against an opponent. Otherwise it would only be a viable method against Dark Jedi and Sith, rather than in sparring matches or combat outside of duelling. Given the magnitude of Skywalker's power and affinity in the Force and his use of it, it would be extremely effective against him.
True, but Vaapad as a fighting style alone is still powerful, as it by itself is an extension of Juyo, with an overwhelmingly fast and strong offense, and staunch defense.
I'd love to see Aayla Secura vs Darth Talon next season. There have been a couple of attempts on this pairing, but you and Jensaarai1 are the absolute best at this and I know you'd give this fight the review it deserves. Also, I'd like to see your take on the top 10 Jedi and Underrated Jedi. The Dark Jedi and Sith videos were really good
I agree with almost everything said, though I think that Luke has greater large scale manipulations. He and mace both can sweep away armies, but Luke can sweep away vong, who are resistant to force powers.
Good work you did there. Could you please do a Kreia vs. Yoda-one? I think it would be quite interesting seeing a battle of wisdom, ideals and abilities. Yoda had hundreds of years to learn the light side of the force, but Kreia experienced both light and dark. Please at least think about it :3
I love this video EvanNova!!! Easily the best one you have every made. I only have one concern about your evaluation of their martial skills: Darth Sidious. Mace Windu was able to match Darth Sidious and out-maneuver him to beat him. Skywalker duelled and defeated Darth Sidious on neutral ground is a pure test of their martial abilities and Force Powers. I think this is a decisive factor that makes Luke Skywalker a slightly better duelist than Mace Windu, with the same level of difference as their martial abilities (very slight edge, but still leaving both of them above the master-class level)
Hmm how about Darth Vader vs Darth Nihilus? Who is the true ultimate Jedi Hunter, one hunted them so well that they didn't knew who was attaking them, while the other did it so thoroughly that they became a myth, their specializations also put them at odds, Nihilus was.............Decent when it came to lightsaber, but he was but a mere fly in comparison to Vader, Vader was very well balanced when it came to the Force and had a wide variety of tools, but unfortunately was unablet o match the raw destruction that Nihilus was able to call upon, so I really would wanna see who would triumph, variety and flexibility vs raw power and ruthlesness
Well Vader is immune to force drain and is a better light saber duelist. Nihilus lightning wont do much considering he was able to tank star-killer and Darth Sidious lightning.
Kenneth Edema Vader tolerating Starkiller's force lighting was absolute non-canon bullshit, and he didn't at all tank Sidious' lightning; he was going to die from it if he didn't have Luke take his helmet off and hasten his death. And please explain how Vader is immune to Force drain? Are you talking about in that Wii game or whatever? I really doubt that's canon.
1) Vader was able to withstand Sidious lightning for several seconds while they was a opining in his suit ( when Luke cut his hand off) and kill him. 2) he had immunity because Ulic Qel-Droma thought him to resist it in order to beat the dark reaper. You underestimate Vader.
Jesus, the EU turned Luke into a complete Gary Stew. I'm fine with the idea of him being a powerful Jedi, but the amount of powers they gave him is just ridiculous. This is where these vs series can fall down. It's real easy for a badly written character to win if they've got the writer on their side.

Well this was again quite obvious. You can't put anything against a god-like charakter like Luke (as he seems to be at this time). However: it was "closer" than expected (it seems the only being who would have a small chance against a god is Mace lol). In the next season you should do more duels with equally matched characters. Too often I've watched the videos with knowing the result only for taking a look at your arguments. However: it's always a pleasure to listen because your arguments prove a high knowledge and competence and the will to work with an open outcome. I'm no EU specialist. This stuff is in most cases by far too exaggerated for me. So my wish is to see more duels with movie Jedi. Ki-Adi-Mundi is a very interesting character and deserves taking place in one of the videos as you thankfully did with Oppo Rancisis. I still think Darth Traya deserves a duel. She's at least as intersting as Palpatine. They are very similar in many aspects but still very different.

Quite a good match-up, but I think Maul would win. While Maul isn't in the same class as Bane, and therefore wouldn't easily overpower her in a lightsaber duel, I still think that would be the eventual outcome (Maul outdueling her)... because yes, Zannah was a master of Soresu, but she was never the level of master Obi-Wan was with it. And as far as Zannah's sith sorcery, keep in mind she was only able to use her dark side tendrils on Ambria, a dark side nexus. Maul winning is just my opinion, and a hastily-made one at that. I would still very much love to see EvanNova or someone else do Zannah vs. Maul.

TinyTorah You can't blame Zannah for not having her character be explored lol. After we're well aware of her ability to mess with people's mind she says in inner monologue in the third book that she has learned many new and powerful forms of sith sorcery. I flicked through the book to get the exact quote, "In addition to the tomes her master had provided, Zannah had sought out her own sources of hidden sith knowledge over the years. Practicing in secret, she had progressed far beyond Bane's expectations, learning new spells to unleash the dark side in ways he had never even imagined'. That doesn't sound to me like she only knows one other ability apart from the highly dependent upon surroundings dark side tendrils. Maybe she could have used the dark side within Darth Bane to create a weaker version of the tendrils. Guess we'll never know ;). Also, when Bane resisted her sorcery, bare in mind that she had tripped over an obstacle (another dependent on surroundings thing, these things do happen and should not be discounted, Bane didn't say "oh my, dear lady, you have fallen over, allow me to help you up", he took full advantage) and as such hadn't been able to secretly use the mind bending sorcery she had planned to use out of seemingly nowhere. She had to do a fully obvious attack on bane's mind. If there had been no mound for her to trip over, the battle may have ended then and there. She could've swooped in and ended his life with her lightsaber for the quick victory.
can you do something with Ki-Adi-Mundi next season. I read through his database and there is a lot about him, but no one has done anything with him yet, seems like a good option.
While I won't be featuring him in Season 4 I have recently made plans to use him in Season 5. I know its a bit of a long wait but I hope its something.
Don't take this the wrong way, but while I love your videos, I find anything involving Grandmaster Luke Skywalker or Darth Sidious to be pretty much a foregone conclusion. Luke is THE most powerful lightsider in the Star Wars EU, and Sidious is THE most powerful Darksider. The only Sidious matchup I consider reasonable was the Darth Sidious vs Darth Vitiate one, mostly because of Vitiate's hype. Besides that, it seems unfair to pit them against any others, because they are so far beyond their competition. Good video though.
Muad'Dib Jacarutu George Lucas has stated Darth Sidious is the most powerful Sith, and several Expanded Universe sources confirm this, repeatedly referring to Sidious as the most powerful Sith in Galactic history. Technically Darth Caedus and Darth Krayt should be exempt from this as they came after Sidious but I find it very unlikely that they were more powerful than Sidious if guys like Bane, Vader, Exar Kun, Plagueis, Nihilus and Vitiate weren't as powerful as him.
Muad'Dib Jacarutu The problem is that even if the EU claims about Sidious being the most powerful predate Vitiate, they don't mean any less now that Vitiate has appeared (besides which Vitiate is HIGHLY overrated. Vitiate's good, but his lightsaber skills are crap, and while his force abilities are impressive, they're not beyond the scope of guys like Darth Plagueis). Personally, while DE does showcase WHY Sidious is the strongest Sith, enough EU sources, as well as George Lucas himself have stated Sidious is the alpha Sith, who stands above all others. So he would still be the strongest, even without DE. Hell, Sidious took down Yoda. That alone should show how insanely powerful he is. Besides. Even if the next movie doesn't have DE elements.... yes. Sidious is still the most powerful. The only other Sith in the Disney Canon are Vader, Maul, Dooku and Bane. Bane's utterly featless in the Disney Canon, and Sidious is much more powerful than Vader, Maul and Dooku, so he'd still be the strongest unless Disney introduces a new Sith, stronger than he is.

Sidious has definable feats which are quite impressive, Plagueis (under Disney Canon) has nothing with which he can use to measure up with Sidious. Sidious beat Yoda in a fight and killed three Jedi masters in seconds. Plagueis has no feats under the Disney Canon that he can use to match up with that. So yeah. Unless the new movies introduce a new Sith that is stronger than Palpatine-- even if they ignore Dark Empire (which not gonna lie, I hope they do that series was poorly told), Sidious is still the strongest Sith, because there are no Sith under the Disney Canon that can be proven to be stronger than him.

(Mace Windu was dead before Luke Skywalker was even born) They can be whatever age you want them to be. No matter how justified you think the decision was to make one of them older, it was a flawed one if you are using it to give one of them an advantage. (Even a tiny one)

Mace Windu is overrated. There, I said it. Even after losing the lightsaber duel against Windu fair and square, Palpatine could have flicked him out of the window with just a thought if he wanted to. He was one of the most powerful Sith to ever live. And at his full potential Luke would DESTROY Windu.
violatione Palpatine lost the lightsaber duel, absolutely. But he was much stronger in the Force, and could already predict Anakin's arrival. The lightning duel was so obviously staged, if he wanted he could have blasted Windu out the window with absolutely no effort. But he's smarter than that. A hell of a lot smarter than Windu, that's for sure. Palpatine killed two birds with one stone. Turning Anakin over to his side by feigning weakness, and eliminating one of the few Jedi who posed any threat to him.
While I will concede that Palpatine was much smarter than Windu, I don't think that Palpatine had it in him to overwhelm Windu with force attacks. Palpatine's MO is to kill as quickly and efficiently as possible. This is evidenced by the fact that he dispatched Windu's colleagues (all of whom were seasoned Jedi masters) in less than 2 seconds. If Palpatine had the ability to win that fight, he would have. No, he lost handily and had to throw a hail Mary to save his plans.
violatione Uh, Palpatine's MO was toying with his victims and making them suffer before killing them. He never rushed things. And seeing as Palpatine was the most powerful Sith Lord of all time, I'm pretty sure that even if Windu deflected any lightning Palpatine threw at him it wouldn't matter. A telekinetic shove off the ledge was all it would take. But that's not Palpatine's plan. There was even a moment during their lightsaber duel where Windu had Palpatine's saber pointed straight at his chest. All Palpatine needed to do was lunge forward and Windu would be dead. But he was just having too much fun, and if he killed Windu then and there he would have no hope of turning Anakin. Windu never stood a chance, plain and simple.
With Windu feeding off of Sidious' power, the fight would've gone on forever had Sidious not thrown the fight. This is a man who overtook the Republic and turned it into the Empire purely through manipulation. He is no dummy. He allowed himself to be pushed onto the ledge. He realized that with Windus Vapaad and his own limitless well if power that was the dark side, it was a stalemate. So the fight only stopped because Sidious made it. That doesn't mean Windu is weak however and that Sidious beat him. Sidious out thought him.

Luke skywalker is my favorite Jedi but this battle seemed incredibly biased. Mace windu has experience combating a shoto against sora bulq. And in the force abilities category the victory was given to Luke because he had "More variety" but there were no examples given. I still think Luke would win (But only in his prime) but there werent really good reasons for him to win the force abilities of weapons categories. Still liked the video though.
If these 2 fought too the death. It will be a slight stalemate but windu will be the victor. His experience speaks for itself. Despite how energetic Luke is. He will never match-up against the the Sith lords in Windu era. Against dooku he gets a pass on that, he underestimated Anakin and got his head chop off. Including Sidious on the mence of his prime when he face maul (maul nearly defeated him due to sidious using the force too outmatch him) and sa'vage. I doubt he will hold his own against Sidious like Windu did when he face him( due too his experience). Including maul himself! Windu face maul, arcourse he had help, but she was knockout before the match even started. But managed too hold his own against maul also. Luke is a great duelist in his right but he's not the best because there's no number one.

How is that even a contest? If it's Grandmaster Luke we're talking about, then Luke destroyes Windu, Yoda or anyone else, because he is the most powerful force sensitive in the history of star wars universe with his potential fully realized without a conflict and with the midichlorian count of his father. But if it's Return of the Jedi Luke we're talking about, Windu would destroy both Luka and 10 of his clones at the same time, with his eyes closed. Luke at the end of star wars saga was still very unexperienced, young, had little to no training excluding Yoda's week or two of jumping around. Windu is the most powerful jedi of his time exluding only Yoda. He single handedly could fight entire armies of drones with his bare hands and the force. He defeated the famous jedi killer Grievous by a single gesture. He decapitated best bounty hunter in the galaxy with ease. He beat SIDOUS in a lightsaber duel. Well as I said, this is no competition at all. If it's Grandmaster Luke then he wins because he beats all, if it's regular Luke then he loses because Windu would stomp ANYONE besides Grandmaster Luke and Yoda.

every time Luke is put against somebody in one of these VS. videos it always comes down to his force ability to witch the only people that can even get close are Sidious and Yoda.
I think I've said this, or something like this before, but EvanNova, you do very good versus videos, but your picks for pitting who against who aren't very good. It's canon that Luke is the most powerful Jedi in the Star Wars universe, above Yoda... whom was above Windu, though only slightly. And, if Mace Windu is < Yoda, and Yoda < Luke, there's no point doing this video. Luke would win. Simple as that.

this is seriously biased. I mean granted Luke was skilled but some comic material has got to be considered straight up un-canon and I hate that word. but oneness with the force? really. So we're saying Luke became more fluent with the force then Yoda? The Force was Yoda's best friend they took walks together. This is a great analysis. For people upset that Mace lost, you do realize that Skywalker is basically a GOD in human form right? Just to be his equal in saber combat makes Mace one of the best Jedi ever.

Of course I have a differing opinion on Mace Windu with a few points (use of Vaapad and it effectiveness, assessment of Shatterpoint).
For me, physical abilities are not determined by age when it comes to Force users. Or else Dooku would not be able to keep pace with a much younger Anakin and Obi-Wan. Or Master Yoda would not be able to keep pace with Depa Billaba, Saesee Tiin and Plo Koon. One's Force abilities, and by extension, their Force augmentation, determined their physical output. For that reason I would actually give the edge to Luke, but that's just my way of thinking.
Your dueling assessment was very thorough, though I would say Luke could combat Vaapad pretty effectively.

the problem is drawing on the force to augment/Supplement one physical abilities is draining in the same way as any other ability meaning that when pressed or when there focus is broken the augmentation vanishes
Dokku is a prime example of this on invisible hand dooku is described how draining augmenting himself to keep up with Anakin is and this drain in the end left him with nothing but his own Physicality, an old man. this is where physical ability becomes a factor in the Vs.

I do agree with you on that physical prowess can't be assesed on age. I do believe Windu was more of weapon in a whole. He trained his body to be a weapon for the light and was much more of a warrior compared to Luke. So I give the physical abillities to Mace aswell, And ye! for some reason you seem to dislike or at least don't think very highly of Mace. Eventhough he was such a skilled and powerfull jedi.
DB6195 Actually Dooku was quite capable in his Force augmentation, and it didn't really hamper any of his other abilities. In fact, Yoda says Dooku was in better shape than men half his age in "Dark Rendezvous" which takes places mere months before ROTS. Months prior, Dooku was still contending with (and outclassing) Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.
The situation with the Dooku fight in ROTS is that Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker simply got better. Obi-Wan had become a master of Soresu, while Anakin became a master of Djem So. Dooku could not stand to battle two masters of such forms, which in turn, tired him out. However we know that this is not usually the case for Dooku, as he was already contending on par with Yoda and outmatching Obi and Anakin only months prior:

So I would still be inclined to say that it is one's Force abilities (specifically in augmentation) which informs their physical prowess ultimately. Or else Sidious would not be able to blitz three masters, or Yoda would not be able to fight with the speeds he does.
In the case of Luke and Mace, I would say Luke would actually take a slight advantage because his physical output is far more conservative and his Force augmentation would be more thorough.
So Luke kills Mace then heals him.

Mind trick out of no where, advanced saber combat, competent force grip. Especially when taking from another opponent, like Kylo, when they were fighting for possession of the saber. Theyre coming up with stuff out of no where. The new canon on Kyber crystals contradicts current "canon" lore. Except if you really look at the beginning of Star Wars it's clear as crystal that Luke was on a completly diffrent level than the ordinary force wielders, he was like his father before him, something completly different. His lightsaber aptitide was even greater than Anakins, who himself with 13 years of training surpassed everyone in the order except for yoda, who had 800 years of training and experience. Luke managed to master what someone will never do in 1 year of SELF TRAINING, by pure instinct and going of instructions in Obi Wans jurnals.
Luke has always been one of the greatest lightsaber duelists in galactic History, however unlike Windu he has the force aptitude of enteties to augment his physical attributes by a gigantic degree, Windu would not even be able to react to Luke lol, it's a stomp in all categories where as in the force and all out he can beat him by gesturing.

I fail to see how Vaapad's feeding off of the dark side would be useful in fighting a light sider. It's just a complete non sequitur. It's like saying that heat is the remedy to being cold, and therefore using ice will also warm one up.
I'm in the same boat, vaapad is only useful against opponents fuelling themselves with the dark side, and is not applicable against l Luke, I also think Luke is a better swordsman, and faster. but it was still an amazing video two thumbs up definitely
It's not the case of Vapaad being empowered solely by darkness. At the end, both the Lightside and the Darkside are both parts of THE FORCE. It's a matter of personal philosophies and emotional emphasis that distinguish them.
Vapaad is about taking the full power of the Force that an opponent is giving off and combining it with your own power to channel the complete package against an opponent. Otherwise it would only be a viable method against Dark Jedi and Sith, rather than in sparring matches or combat outside of duelling. Given the magnitude of Skywalker's power and affinity in the Force and his use of it, it would be extremely effective against him.
That really hasn't helped ever against any no one that is not a strong dark sider like Sidous

I agree with almost everything said, though I think that Luke has greater large scale manipulations. He and mace both can sweep away armies, but Luke can sweep away vong, who are resistant to force powers.

I love this video EvanNova!!! Easily the best one you have every made. I only have one concern about your evaluation of their martial skills: Darth Sidious. Mace Windu was able to match Darth Sidious and out-maneuver him to beat him. Skywalker duelled and defeated Darth Sidious on neutral ground is a pure test of their martial abilities and Force Powers. I think this is a decisive factor that makes Luke Skywalker a slightly better duelist than Mace Windu, with the same level of difference as their martial abilities (very slight edge, but still leaving both of them above the master-class level)

Hmm how about Darth Vader vs Darth Nihilus? Who is the true ultimate Jedi Hunter, one hunted them so well that they didn't knew who was attaking them, while the other did it so thoroughly that they became a myth, their specializations also put them at odds, Nihilus was.............Decent when it came to lightsaber, but he was but a mere fly in comparison to Vader, Vader was very well balanced when it came to the Force and had a wide variety of tools, but unfortunately was unablet o match the raw destruction that Nihilus was able to call upon, so I really would wanna see who would triumph, variety and flexibility vs raw power and ruthlesness
Well Vader is immune to force drain and is a better light saber duelist. Nihilus lightning wont do much considering he was able to tank star-killer and Darth Sidious lightning.

Vader tolerating Starkiller's force lighting was absolute non-canon bullshit, and he didn't at all tank Sidious' lightning; he was going to die from it if he didn't have Luke take his helmet off and hasten his death. Nihilus is firmly above Vader. Nihilus is OP, and it astonishes me how so few people see that.
1) Vader was able to withstand Sidious lightning for several seconds while they was a opining in his suit ( when Luke cut his hand off) and kill him. 2) he had immunity because Ulic Qel-Droma thought him to resist it in order to beat the dark reaper. You underestimate Vader.

Well this was again quite obvious. You can't put anything against a god-like charakter like Luke (as he seems to be at this time). However: it was "closer" than expected (it seems the only being who would have a small chance against a god is Mace lol).
In the next season you should do more duels with equally matched characters. Too often I've watched the videos with knowing the result only for taking a look at your arguments. However: it's always a pleasure to listen because your arguments prove a high knowledge and competence and the will to work with an open outcome.
I'm no EU specialist. This stuff is in most cases by far too exaggerated for me. So my wish is to see more duels with movie Jedi. Ki-Adi-Mundi is a very interesting character and deserves taking place in one of the videos as you thankfully did with Oppo Rancisis. I still think Darth Traya deserves a duel. She's at least as intersting as Palpatine. They are very similar in many aspects but still very different.

Quite a good match-up, but I think Maul would win. While Maul isn't in the same class as Bane, and therefore wouldn't easily overpower her in a lightsaber duel, I still think that would be the eventual outcome (Maul outdueling her)... because yes, Zannah was a master of Soresu, but she was never the level of master Obi-Wan was with it. And as far as Zannah's sith sorcery, keep in mind she was only able to use her dark side tendrils on Ambria, a dark side nexus.
Maul winning is just my opinion, and a hastily-made one at that. I would still very much love to see EvanNova or someone else do Zannah vs. Maul.

And yes, she knew other Sith sorcery, but as far as what was presented of her abilities in Sith sorcery, besides her one-time use of dark side tendrils, she just used Sith sorcery to essentially mess with people's minds.
TinyTorah You can't blame Zannah for not having her character be explored lol. After we're well aware of her ability to mess with people's mind she says in inner monologue in the third book that she has learned many new and powerful forms of sith sorcery.
I flicked through the book to get the exact quote, "In addition to the tomes her master had provided, Zannah had sought out her own sources of hidden sith knowledge over the years. Practicing in secret, she had progressed far beyond Bane's expectations, learning new spells to unleash the dark side in ways he had never even imagined'.
That doesn't sound to me like she only knows one other ability apart from the highly dependent upon surroundings dark side tendrils. Maybe she could have used the dark side within Darth Bane to create a weaker version of the tendrils.
Guess we'll never know ;).
Also, when Bane resisted her sorcery, bare in mind that she had tripped over an obstacle (another dependent on surroundings thing, these things do happen and should not be discounted, Bane didn't say "oh my, dear lady, you have fallen over, allow me to help you up", he took full advantage) and as such hadn't been able to secretly use the mind bending sorcery she had planned to use out of seemingly nowhere. She had to do a fully obvious attack on bane's mind. If there had been no mound for her to trip over, the battle may have ended then and there. She could've swooped in and ended his life with her lightsaber for the quick victory.

Don't take this the wrong way, but while I love your videos, I find anything involving Grandmaster Luke Skywalker or Darth Sidious to be pretty much a foregone conclusion. Luke is THE most powerful lightsider in the Star Wars EU, and Sidious is THE most powerful Darksider. The only Sidious matchup I consider reasonable was the Darth Sidious vs Darth Vitiate one, mostly because of Vitiate's hype. Besides that, it seems unfair to pit them against any others, because they are so far beyond their competition.

Muad'Dib Jacarutu George Lucas has stated Darth Sidious is the most powerful Sith, and several Expanded Universe sources confirm this, repeatedly referring to Sidious as the most powerful Sith in Galactic history. Technically Darth Caedus and Darth Krayt should be exempt from this as they came after Sidious but I find it very unlikely that they were more powerful than Sidious if guys like Bane, Vader, Exar Kun, Plagueis, Nihilus and Vitiate weren't as powerful as him.
Muad'Dib Jacarutu The problem is that even if the EU claims about Sidious being the most powerful predate Vitiate, they don't mean any less now that Vitiate has appeared (besides which Vitiate is HIGHLY overrated. Vitiate's good, but his lightsaber skills are crap, and while his force abilities are impressive, they're not beyond the scope of guys like Darth Plagueis).
Personally, while DE does showcase WHY Sidious is the strongest Sith, enough EU sources, as well as George Lucas himself have stated Sidious is the alpha Sith, who stands above all others. So he would still be the strongest, even without DE. Hell, Sidious took down Yoda. That alone should show how insanely powerful he is.
Besides. Even if the next movie doesn't have DE elements.... yes. Sidious is still the most powerful. The only other Sith in the Disney Canon are Vader, Maul, Dooku and Bane. Bane's utterly featless in the Disney Canon, and Sidious is much more powerful than Vader, Maul and Dooku, so he'd still be the strongest unless Disney introduces a new Sith, stronger than he is.

So yeah. Unless the new movies introduce a new Sith that is stronger than Palpatine-- even if they ignore Dark Empire (which not gonna lie, I hope they do that series was poorly told), Sidious is still the strongest Sith, because there are no Sith under the Disney Canon that can be proven to be stronger than him.

You are pulling two people from two separate points in time. (Mace Windu was dead before Luke Skywalker was even born) They can be whatever age you want them to be. There, I said it. Even after losing the lightsaber duel against Windu fair and square, Palpatine could have flicked him out of the window with just a thought if he wanted to. He was one of the most powerful Sith to ever live.
And at his full potential Luke would DESTROY Windu.

But he was much stronger in the Force, and could already predict Anakin's arrival. The lightning duel was so obviously staged, if he wanted he could have blasted Windu out the window with absolutely no effort.
But he's smarter than that. A hell of a lot smarter than Windu, that's for sure. Palpatine killed two birds with one stone. Turning Anakin over to his side by feigning weakness, and eliminating one of the few Jedi who posed any threat to him.
While I will concede that Palpatine was much smarter than Windu, I don't think that Palpatine had it in him to overwhelm Windu with force attacks. Palpatine's MO is to kill as quickly and efficiently as possible. This is evidenced by the fact that he dispatched Windu's colleagues (all of whom were seasoned Jedi masters) in less than 2 seconds. If Palpatine had the ability to win that fight, he would have. No, he lost handily and had to throw a hail Mary to save his plans.

And seeing as Palpatine was the most powerful Sith Lord of all time, I'm pretty sure that even if Windu deflected any lightning Palpatine threw at him it wouldn't matter.
A telekinetic shove off the ledge was all it would take. But that's not Palpatine's plan. There was even a moment during their lightsaber duel where Windu had Palpatine's saber pointed straight at his chest. All Palpatine needed to do was lunge forward and Windu would be dead.
But he was just having too much fun, and if he killed Windu then and there he would have no hope of turning Anakin.
Windu never stood a chance, plain and simple.
With Windu feeding off of Sidious' power, the fight would've gone on forever had Sidious not thrown the fight. This is a man who overtook the Republic and turned it into the Empire purely through manipulation. He is no dummy. He allowed himself to be pushed onto the ledge. He realized that with Windus Vapaad and his own limitless well if power that was the dark side, it was a stalemate. So the fight only stopped because Sidious made it. That doesn't mean Windu is weak however and that Sidious beat him. Sidious out thought him.

Luke skywalker is my favorite Jedi but this battle seemed incredibly biased. Mace windu has experience combating a shoto against sora bulq. And in the force abilities category the victory was given to Luke because he had "More variety" but there were no examples given. I still think Luke would win (But only in his prime) but there werent really good reasons for him to win the force abilities of weapons categories. Still liked the video though.
Then if you think Mace would woop his ass too...just set your death battle up with 2 other combatants

If these 2 fought too the death. It will be a slight stalemate but windu will be the victor. His experience speaks for itself. Despite how energetic Luke is. He will never match-up against the the Sith lords in Windu era. Against dooku he gets a pass on that, he underestimated Anakin and got his head chop off. Including Sidious on the mence of his prime when he face maul (maul nearly defeated him due to sidious using the force too outmatch him) and sa'vage. I doubt he will hold his own against Sidious like Windu did when he face him( due too his experience). Including maul himself! Windu face maul, arcourse he had help, but she was knockout before the match even started. But managed too hold his own against maul also. Luke is a great duelist in his right but he's not the best because there's no number one.

How is that even a contest? If it's Grandmaster Luke we're talking about, then Luke destroyes Windu, Yoda or anyone else, because he is the most powerful force sensitive in the history of star wars universe with his potential fully realized without a conflict and with the midichlorian count of his father. But if it's Return of the Jedi Luke we're talking about, Windu would destroy both Luka and 10 of his clones at the same time, with his eyes closed. Luke at the end of star wars saga was still very unexperienced, young, had little to no training excluding Yoda's week or two of jumping around. Windu is the most powerful jedi of his time exluding only Yoda. He single handedly could fight entire armies of drones with his bare hands and the force. He defeated the famous jedi killer Grievous by a single gesture. He decapitated best bounty hunter in the galaxy with ease. He beat SIDOUS in a lightsaber duel. Well as I said, this is no competition at all. If it's Grandmaster Luke then he wins because he beats all, if it's regular Luke then he loses because Windu would stomp ANYONE besides Grandmaster Luke and Yoda.

I think I've said this, or something like this before, but EvanNova, you do very good versus videos, but your picks for pitting who against who aren't very good. It's canon that Luke is the most powerful Jedi in the Star Wars universe, above Yoda... whom was above Windu, though only slightly. And, if Mace Windu is < Yoda, and Yoda < Luke, there's no point doing this video. Luke would win. Simple as that.
