Get a haircut or trim your beard? You sinned against God! Seriously?

  • If you think this you missed the mark; its not about getting a haircut or trimming your beard. Some say "so if you ever shaved our had a haircut, you've broken the law."
    Not true because in other passages of scripture, specifically the New Testament its states that long hair is a disgrace to a man. So if long hair is a disgrace then the ONLY way to rectify that is by cutting your hair. IF cutting your hair was a sin, then we need to throw out the NT because it contradicts with God's commandment. Consider the NT where Paul and other believers took the Nazarite vow - guess what that involved? Yep cutting one's hair. So is the bible full of contradictions or is our interpretation flawed?
    Scripture states God does not lie and that He is the same yesterday, today and forever. So either the bible is wrong or your statement/belief about haircuts is wrong. I'll stick with God and His word and here is way.
    The commandment 'don't round the corners of hear or mar the corners of your beard' is in regards to a pagan practice of ripping out your hair to show reverence and or to compel the false god/s to answer your prayers. If you looked up the Hebrew word נָקַף naqaph (the word for round) means strike off, to rip out round the compass of the head (ever seen the old pictures of pagan followers who had a circular bald spot? thats it and it was a way to pay reverence & homage to the sun god, which goes back to Nimrod). The Hebrew word שָׁחַת shachath (the word used for 'mar') means to corrupt, to ruin, to injure.
    You see one of the telltale traits of false gods of the time was that the god/s would not listen unless the followers injured themselves; it was a way of showing devotion and only MAYBE would god/s answer.
    What most people don't understand (just like I used to do) is that the Hebrew is about producing results. Its not just hearing God's word but also doing it. Something the apostle Paul talked about - don't just be hearers of the word but doers! We also need to take the time to study and research the times and peoples when these passages were written. If you don't then you make the mistake like you did (BTDT).
    BTW if you say that the pharisees missed the spirit of the law, in ways, they did but Yeshua/Jesus rebuked them mostly for adding to and taking away from God's commandments; IOW they made up their own laws, commandments which scripture refers to as 'doctrines and traditions of men'. That was what Yeshua was rebuking them for the most part.
    BTW Jesus did not obey all 613 laws ;)

For ex. today someone might say it is raining cats and dogs which we know means its just raining really hard. But lets say someone from Spain reads that and takes it literally they would be pretty confused. Whenever you find scripture like this trust me there is an answer and it isn't its done away with. If we were to take everything literally every Christian male would be walking around with no eyes because Jesus told us to pluck our eyes out if we ever lusted after a women. Shalom!

    Here is a thought....look at all these verses about shaving the head, marring the beard, and cutting yourself in this context:
    DO NOT DEFILE YOURSELF FOR THE DEAD
    Lev 21:1-5 And יהוה said to Mashah, “Speak to the priests, the sons of Aharun, and say to them: ‘No one is to be defiled FOR THE DEAD among his people, except for his relatives who are nearest to him: for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother; and for his maiden sister who is near to him, who has had no husband - for her he is defiled. ‘A leader does not defile himself among his people, to profane himself; they do not make any bald place on their heads, and they do not shave the corner of their beard, and they do not make a cutting in their flesh.
    Lev 19:27-28 ‘Do not round the corner of your head, nor destroy the corner of your beard and do not make any cuttings in your flesh FOR THE DEAD, nor put tattoo marks on you. I am Yahuah.
    Deut 14:1-2 “You are the children of יהוה your Alahym. Do not cut yourselves nor shave the front of your head FOR THE DEAD, for you are a set-apart people to יהוה your Alahym, and יהוה has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.

    Now it doesn't matter. Our consecration is in Christ now.
    God will not reinstitute something he disannuled ,that also means the Sabbath day. Jesus represented the whole law not just part of it.
    Jesus abolished the law in flesh. The commandments he is talking is the one to one another as have loved you.

      The change of the priesthood was under Jesus. The Levitical priesthood had the law of Moses. Jesus has the law of grace and mercy. Psalms 110 you see in the old testament the name of Jesus was secret until he came. God said he blind their eyes. Now they can be saved to. When we come to know Christ he changes our carnal mind to spiritual mind even though we are in a flesh body. We don't have the same laws under the new covenant as under the old one. As God said in Jeremiah 31:31. It wouldn't be same.
      The part people get mixed upon is where he would write his laws on our heart. It wouldn't laws of old covenant because he has already fulfilled them, but the laws of the new one. Preachers doesn't explain what the new laws are. They take presidents over over the old ones. For example , Jesus said come him for rest and learn from him. Yet people want to want to keep the Sabbath day holy. We are not under that covenant anymore. Some want to say we can't eat certain foods. Yet Jesus what we eat doesn't make us unclean. Some want to tithe, Jesus said if you give some a cool drink of water you are doing to him. Anytime we do some thing for someone that really needs it we are doing to it to him.

    Didn't the apostle Paul tell us not to keep the sabbaths and feast days anymore because they were blotted out in the death of Christ on the cross? Haven't you read Colossians 2:16-17?

    • @PrototypeScope
      @PrototypeScope 4 года назад

      That is why I reject Paul. He taught lawlessness. A complete contradiction to Jesus and the Father, and the true apostles. He taught it is okay to eat meat sacrificed to idols. Rev 2:14 happened after Paul. So what is right? Jesus words or Pauls?

    • @PrototypeScope
      @PrototypeScope 4 года назад

      Also Paul contradicts acts 15, which that council was led by Peter, who was given the keys to Heaven by the Son of Man. Whatever he looses is loosed, whatever he binds is bound. Peter and the others made it very clear to NEVER eat meat sacrificed to idols. Paul says otherwise in 1 Corinthians. Again, who is in the right? Paul? Or Peter?

      Exactly , he said not let any judge you of these things because the substance is of Christ. Jesus is our Sabbath rest. We don't need to worry about keeping these traditions.

    Is this similar to the kosher prohibition of mixing meat and cheese? Where as Leviticus says do not boil the calf's meat in the mother's milk, which was a pagan agricultural fertility practice? I believe this is the case, and I believe I'm conforming to god's law by having a cheese burger. If anyone has any input on that, I'd appreciate the correction. Thanks. Why does the scriptures tell us that Jesus was without sin? And how come Jesus , the Son of God, was the only sacrifice capable of paying the debt of sin? Well, that is because He was sinless. That is why He was able to rise also. Great video, I like the research about the hair. But when you claim that Jesus didnt obey all 613 laws, you simply referenced laws that didnt pertain to Him. Not once did He disobey a law...You said He didnt "obey" all 613. Can you tell us which law He disobeyed then? That would mean that Jesus is not God...God in not capable of sin, which is when you dont follow a law...I think what you meant to say my friend is that Jesus was not in a situation where those specific laws would pertain to Him...for example the laws pertaining to women...they are for women...haha "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God...Jesus is the Word in the flesh ;)

    • @Guizajohnathan
      @Guizajohnathan 6 лет назад

      Yea. What he's saying is Jesus didn't obey all 613 commandments because some did not pertain to him. He made that clear in the video.

    Regardless the reason why God told us not to round the corners of our hair or mar the edges of our beard is irrelevant, He said do not do it, so yes that means do not do it. So today if you get a haircut in that style or if you destroy the edges of your beard a.k.a. shave it you are breaking that commandment from God. Yes it may be because the pagans used that as a way of worship or identification and that is exactly why we should not do it today. It’s what God said and what God says is forever. You can’t just say well He made that up because of this or that and so it doesn’t apply today. That’s irrational thinking.

      @@candiceporter6769
      That is a common misunderstanding: "God commanded the Israelites, not the Gentiles, to do this or that."
      God wanted to show himself to mankind, so he picked a nation through which he would represent himself. That was Israel, because God had made a covenant with Abraham. The Israelites should live by God's standards and through that make God's ways known to other nations. Because if they keep God's laws, he would bless them. Through that the Gentiles should become aware of God's standard.
      How much more are Christians now called to be a light in the world! (If you live exactly like the world, then there is no difference between you and them, no difference between light and darkness, because it would all be darkness). It is better to do that which God commanded to the believers in ancient Israel than to do what the world tells you.
      So if God told something to the ethnic Israelites, it does not mean that it does not apply to people that became part of Israel through the sacrafice of the Lord Jesus Christ.
      The ancient Israelites were the belivers then, the Christians are the believers now.

    I disagree with this man. I’ve met many who are in lustful relationships, listening to secular music and having children and seeking a new wife… who cut and shave their hair. A bald man is always on the look out for “her”…. Never satisfied, and continuously shaving head to be “cleansed” of sin…. Every woman involved in a hideous relationship that makes her question herself, cuts hair/colors it.
    If you cut your hair you are sinning. And the demon of lust, in order to get permission to feed off of you, only needs the feelings of lust in your heart to have access- and when you lust it is because you are feeding a demon of lust.
    You have to starve your demon of lust. You have to flee from it. No one can fight it.
    Your hair is a symbol and if you don’t agree- that’s fine- but I’ve seen enough and no one will ever convince me otherwise once I’ve seen the truth.
