I love this video because my issue is that I actually did NOT want to hear myself and just use the mic as a passthrough, and it actually helped me achieve that, so just for that, I love you.
What the hecc. I've been living without this feature for over 4 years, including recording over 30 songs without it. I was just about to buy a new one, and your tip fixed it for me. Thanks!

Just saved my Live! I broadcast my church service translating into English real time... I found you while the worship team is on... About time for preaching! Thank you!
It's like you watched me struggle with this over the last two days and then went back in time and made a video, because I really almost throw my computer out the window. Thank you SO MUCH for your help.
5 years later and even though I'm incredibly tech savvy, it would have never occurred to me that trying for a sec ' listen on this device ' would mute the monitoring forever lmao, this helped me so much, thanks a lot mate
No 2+ minute long intro, no bullshit, no fluff. Just a quick 15 second dialog and then the solution. Hats off to you you glorious bastard! Have a great 2020!
Bro I love you. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU. I use the Blue Yeti with my digital camera, suddenly it stopped picking any sounds, and was about to get rid of it. I thought either the headphone jack on the mic needs replacement or something is wrong with the cam. Angry af, I decided to give it one last shot. I tested the headphone jack, it was working when playing back sounds, but I noticed I only can use it in playback and can't hear myself live. A google search led me here and voila. Without your video, I would've replaced the headphone jack, it still won't be working, then I would've took my a7iii to repair... again, big THANKS
More than 3 years after you posted this video, and you are still helping people! Tnx man! I accidently clicked that checkmark and cursed alot before i found this video 15min later haha. Again THANKS DUDE!!
5 years later... And I got this exact problem!! I couldn't find anything on how to fix it and wanted to throw my pc out of the window too!! THANK YOU ♥
WOW, this occurred with my mic on two different computers. I was already typing up a response to support when I decided to watch your video. Saving tons of time and effort! Thanks!
Actually this method isn't the in-built live monitoring that the Yeti has, and this way running through software will introduce that slight lag that makes it weird to speak with it. For the built-in live monitoring you want to press and hold the Pickup Pattern Toggle Button for 2 seconds and that will toggle live monitoring on/off. This also enables you to have the monitoring going to a device that isn't plugged into your computer or even have it to more than two computers at once.
My headphone jack is messed up on my yeti so i came here looking to fix that problem(didn't). Fixed a problem I thought was a standard thing to hear your own voice with yetis for 3 years now. Fixed that issue. Thanks.
Thank you so much, spent all day yesterday trying to figure out why i heard clicking/myself talking and I had listen to this device checked. Amazing and straight to the point!
I had muted the speaker somehow for the Yeti, when you'd plug it in you would hear the feedback for a second then it'd turn off. I thought something terrible was wrong, turns out I'm just dense. Thanks so much for helping to lead me down the right path!
Dude you are the GOAT - I thought my Yeti has been broken for a while. Somehow it stopped working, and I did exactly what you said - enabled monitoring and echo so turned it off. Followed instructions and for sure the mic was muted on playback :) Now fixed. Cheers.
Thank you! It took me for ever because i didn't know the terminology for what I was trying to fix. I was in a sour mood the whole time I was playing dnd with my bros because I could hear noises but they weren't coming through the live monitoring.
literally said "why would you do that??" out loud to my new computer when this fix worked - 11/10 video, cannot believe i didn't think to check the levels on the playback when i've been having to fuss with the levels on the recording for ages (my old computer would randomly set my gain to 0 or 100 lol)
Dude holy crap, thank you so much. This was literally what I did step by step!!!!!! When you were like "My first reaction was to throw my computer out the window." I couldn't stop laughing bro....lol Same..........THANKS AGAIN!!!
Thank you so much, to think the solution was hidden there all along. I got this problem right when a recording program suggested the "Listen to this device" option. Perfect solution!
I don't ever really comment on youtube videos like this but you really saved me. There was no other place that explained this. Thank you very much! I can start singing my covers normally again :)
nvm I found the problem you have to go to "Recording" click the blue yeti microphone. make sure the "listen to this device" have no check mark. Then go back to "playback" and click your blue yeti properties, got to "levels" and make sure microphone is on.
I literally watched this video without having this problem and then a week later the problem happened. Thanks to your video I didn't have to throw my laptop out.
i love you.................. thank you its been driving me crazy to hear my voice back at times and not being able to monitor when i want to... so i kept switching my headphones to computer to mic back and forth for many moons i cannot thank you enough
Thank you so much - this exact scenario happened to me except that I didn't realize that the monitoring wasn't working anymore for like a week after I was fiddling with mic properties.
Heyy I had this same problem but for me I found out it was because of the pattern selection button on the back of the mic!! It controls the microphones monitoring and you just need to long press it to enable it again. :)))) (this is mostly for yeti mics i think)
Thank FUCKING God I finally found a solution. Thank you so much! Since Blue Disabled any functionality in Blue Sherpa and instead insists on you using GHub it's been a pain in the ass to get the mic working in a way that allows good sound, equalizers etc. to work in any way. Thank you!
OMG dude! Thank you so much! I was losing my mind trying to figure out what the heck happened. I knew the mic worked and the headphones worked, but couldn't get them to work together. Thank you!!!!
This helped me turn off my live monitoring. Can't afford a dac right now and my mic is better than the default soundcard that gives me a shit ton of white noise. Thanks
Thank you, I actually used it backwards than what you meant... I needed to disable Live monitoring as I started using Blue Yeti as SoundCard for my headphones because my internal SoundBlaster Audigy FX V2 makes strange noise and Blue Yeti doesnt and also it has great audio and the volume is at least twice as high as the motherboard has
YES, NOW I CANT HEAR MYSELF IT WAS SO ANNOYING TO HEAR MYSELF THANK YOU SO MUCH, ik the tutorial was made for the opposite but it still helped me, thanks bro
BRO!! YOU ARE LITERALLY THE BEST!! IM SURE YOU GET THIS A LOT XD BUT THIS JUST SAVED ME SO MUCH TIME AND ENERGY, PLUS YOU MADE IT ENTERTAINING AND RELATBLE TOO. HATS OFF TO YOU FRIEND
god bless once again i had to find this video i even made a playlist of just this for the future I might even download it in case something ever happens to your channel
I love you dude! This was not my case but I had the headshet plugged into a different channel of my pc. Thanks for helping figuring me out stuff so I can record something decent without stuttering for my gaming channel!

Just saved my Live! I broadcast my church service translating into English real time... I found you while the worship team is on... About time for preaching! Thank you!
1.5 years later and this just saved my bacon. Thank you for this no-frills "get to the point" video my dude. Now I can start using my mic again!
You legend. I've had this problem for so long I've just learned to live with it. Thanks for your help!
same hahaha
It's like you watched me struggle with this over the last two days and then went back in time and made a video, because I really almost throw my computer out the window. Thank you SO MUCH for your help.
I wasn't looking to fix it, but get rid of it. You unintentionally helped me out. Thanks.
4 years later and the solution still works like a charm!
5 years later and even though I'm incredibly tech savvy, it would have never occurred to me that trying for a sec ' listen on this device ' would mute the monitoring forever lmao, this helped me so much, thanks a lot mate

5 years on and you're still helping! Thanks
I did not think this would actually work and thought I just damaged my cables, but even in 2023, It worked! Thanks for the help!
Ive been stuck on this for YEARS till thinking to look up a solution, youre a hero I totally thought something on my Yeti was just broken
2 years later and you saved yet another computer from being yeeted out of a window at mach speed. Thank you
5 years later...
Thanks!
Even three years later this has helped me, THANK YOU! Also why did you have to call me out on everything that I did to try to fix it
Actually this method isn't the in-built live monitoring that the Yeti has, and this way running through software will introduce that slight lag that makes it weird to speak with it.

4 years later and I was dicking around doing exactly that... Thank you, fixed it instantly.
Thank you so much, spent all day yesterday trying to figure out why i heard clicking/myself talking and I had listen to this device checked. Amazing and straight to the point!
Idk where you're at in life or what you're doing with it, but I hope it is amazing because you deserve it!
This is crazy. I thought my yeti was broken, THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I WAS FOLDING MY LAUNDRY AND THE STATIC MADE IT ALL MESSED UP AND THIS VIDEO HELPED SO MUCH!! thank you so much senpai
I had muted the speaker somehow for the Yeti, when you'd plug it in you would hear the feedback for a second then it'd turn off. I thought something terrible was wrong, turns out I'm just dense. Thanks so much for helping to lead me down the right path!

I was in a sour mood the whole time I was playing dnd with my bros because I could hear noises but they weren't coming through the live monitoring.
Thank you. I full heartedly hope you win the lottery or something for posting this video.
Life saver I had no idea what happened one minute my headset had audio I came back and it went but this video help so much appreciated
literally said "why would you do that??" out loud to my new computer when this fix worked - 11/10 video, cannot believe i didn't think to check the levels on the playback when i've been having to fuss with the levels on the recording for ages (my old computer would randomly set my gain to 0 or 100 lol)
God bless you. This just fixed my problem after my Yeti errored out and changed a bunch of settings. Now I've got my live monitoring back! Thank you!
This video solved my problem twice because I forgot how to do it from 4 years ago when I first had this problem. Thank youuu
My live monitoring did not work for whole year. I thought mic is broken. But now the issue is resolved. Thanks!
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH IT HAS NOT BEEN WORKING FOR SOO LONG
You literally just explained step-by-step what had happened to me. Thank you!
Dude holy crap, thank you so much. This was literally what I did step by step!!!!!! When you were like "My first reaction was to throw my computer out the window." I couldn't stop laughing bro....lol Same..........THANKS AGAIN!!!
I am very glad this helped!
How can I get live feedback using my android. I tried using a splitter and it didn't work
Thank you so much, to think the solution was hidden there all along. I got this problem right when a recording program suggested the "Listen to this device" option. Perfect solution!
Thank you!! I tested evertything thought i broke my Mic, but thank god we have people like you man!!! Thank you so much
This problem came up for me after a Windows update. THANK YOU FOR THE FIX!
I don't ever really comment on youtube videos like this but you really saved me. There was no other place that explained this. Thank you very much! I can start singing my covers normally again :)
2 years later and still helpful thanks man
First thing I did was RTFM but there was nothing about this in the manual so you've saved me a lot of fiddling around.
i was stressing for 2 days, thank god i found this video
If I set Yeti Speaker as my default device in playback, I won't hear anything coming from my headset. How do I solve this please?
did you ever find the answer plz I need help from this
nvm I found the problem you have to go to "Recording" click the blue yeti microphone. make sure the "listen to this device" have no check mark. Then go back to "playback" and click your blue yeti properties, got to "levels" and make sure microphone is on.
This is _exactly_ what I did. Was frustrated for days until this video...
i love how this was to turn on monitoring but i watched it to turn it OFF cuz the yeti speakers are louder than my pc ones idk why but tysm
this solved my 1 year old problem! thank you soooo much!
I was so frustrated. Subbed. Please keep fixing the things we accidentally break.
You are a life saver. One min away from jumping off the ledge with my PC
I wanted to do the opposite and turn the feedback off due to loud fans but assumed it was a hardware setup. This worked perfect thanks a bunch.
Bruh. Relevant 4 years later. I can hear it all again!
I had thought my Mic was broken for good. THANK YOU!! Back to recording some music
Woah! I had so far resorted to disabling and enabling the device in Windows Device Manager. Good to find this tip.
Oh my God thank you soo much. I felt like I was crazy and could not find an answer to this! I was literally a day or two from re-imaging my PC
Dude thank you so much. I was literally about to throw my computer out my window and then subsequently myself.
works like a charm even after 6 years, cheers
Thank you so much - this exact scenario happened to me except that I didn't realize that the monitoring wasn't working anymore for like a week after I was fiddling with mic properties.
HOLY CRAP I can't express how much you just saved my ass from having to buy a new mic... THANK YOU
THANKS, had this issue for over a year and couldnt find a fix till now!

Wow. That took 15 minutes to figure this out on the new dumb windows layout but thank you for the simple tutorial. It ended up working!
Man, huge thanks. I was legitimately at a loss. This video was exactly what I needed - so thanks!
Str8 to the point... And that fixed my problem in 2024 ! Great video.
You are a fucking legend, my guy. This video will remain on my "I am stupid, here's how to fix" for years to come!!!!
Thank you so much! I had a feedback that I couldn't get rid of with normal means and this fixed it in 5 seconds!
OMG dude! Thank you so much! I was losing my mind trying to figure out what the heck happened. I knew the mic worked and the headphones worked, but couldn't get them to work together. Thank you!!!!
I've had this problem nearly a year now!!!! Thank you soooo much
This helped me turn off my live monitoring.

I had the opposite problem, thanks man, I did the inverse what you did. The live monitoring seriously aggravates me :D
That's cool. I clicked hoping to find out how to disabling live monitoring, which was not the intent of this video, but got my answer anyway. :)
Thank you very much 👍

Hello, from the distant future of 2022. Can confirm, this is still helping people!
