Blondie is amazing. This is one of my favourite songs ever and always a go to when I listen to music. Debbie Harry was just perfect!
Debbie Harry is the first white female rapper singing rapture, she learnt it from her New York black friends in the 70’s (she mentions them at the begging of the rap, to acknowledge this) 👍👍👍

Other people are going to suggest Call Me, The Tide Is High and Rapture - and they're good songs, sold gold in United States, but I like Maria which sold platinum in United Kingdom and Germany.

'The tide is high'... is another good Blondie tune... 'Rapture' has an attempt at rap in the 70's... 'One way or another' is a rockin' tune... 'Maria' was one of their later hits from the 90's.

She begun as a punk frontwoman in a group with guys only,very pioneering for the late 70's then to reggae,pop,disco and rap mixed together with a cool attitude from a gorgeous frontwoman,which she first introduced to the music scene back then.check also "Rapture", "Atomic" and "Dreaming" (covered recently by the band Green Day) and compare those with the first lp of the group to see their progression and variety in their music.simply a talented and very interesting group.

this was Blondie's breakout hit... you should try some of their earlier, punkier songs...they were part of the original punk scene at CBGB's that also produced the Ramones and Talking Heads... a great one is called "X Offender"

The thing I love about watching reactions is when you guys watch something for the first time, we sort of hear for the first time again too, sort of. This song takes me back to the summer of '79, I was 14, and we lads were all playing football ( soccer ) and this song was in the music charts, known as the Top Twenty. God we loved the Top 20 and we loved Blondie, who didn't? I would like to recommend Blondie's song: 'Denis Denis'.

Obviously I’m a product of the 70’s. The youth never heard of songs in disco and metal. Big back then. Hip pop rules the ship today. It’s not to hear sometimes what the old folks used to listen to.
Sadly someone censored a fun part of the song that gave a hint of sass and fun the band had- that last verse the words are actually "soon turned out to be a pain in the ass" -as you can tell her mouth clearly does not say heart of glass that last time. Is "pita" offensive somehow in 2022?!?
