Finishing the broth should absolutely be a requirement. It's Vietnamese Noodle SOUP. The broth is the MOST integral part of what makes Pho. Literally 99% of all Pho places uses the same rice noodles, but the broth is the signature point of what makes Pho different from each other. In my opinion, you're the only one that finished the ENTIRE BOWL and is the true winner on that board.
I was just saying some places the broth is what I come for to chug and slurp up at the end. Either after a long day at work or if you're not feeling to well pho broth or wonton soup is that miracle feel better liquid.

That is because unlike solid foods, liquids are unsafe to consume in these amounts. Immediately unsafe, not through long term health effects. Look up hyponatremia, and yes, you can get it from salty broth nearly just as easily as from water.

Probably because it's nearly impossible. Food can be compressed and mushed in your mouth to make the end result much smaller than the food that was made. Liquid can't be compressed. The volume will stay the same whether it's in the bowl or in your stomach. So unless you train your stomach to stretch (like most food eating professional) you're not gonna be able to do it.

Yeh, its seems like a moderate challenge if it's only the meat and noodles, half the challenge is the broth.
Yeah makes you wonder why they give you so much broth, you'd think they'd just cook it in the broth the ladle it out on a big platter for you to eat.

I live in Edmonton and I've been wanting to try this challenge for a while now. I didn't know you didn't need to finish the broth until now either. That makes it sound easy. But I'll try to finish the broth too when I do it.

I used to be critical because of all the mess but the Beard has cleaned up his eating so much! It's always been impressive how much he can eat and now he's taken his performance to the next level 💪. Awesome work!
The challenge aside which is easy for you by the way it looks, as a Vietnamese, one thing I noticed while watching this video is that your pronunciation of "Phở" is so much better in comparison to the last time you did this kind of challenge in the US (if I'm not mistaken). So cheers for that xD

I live in Saskatchewan Canada and I love your show. I watch only you and Katina(not Randy,oops), and I had never heard of this kind of eating till I found you and Mrs Beard during covid. Love that you're in Canada.
My favorite places to eat in SK are U-Fondue in Saskatoon, Nit's in Moose Jaw, and Caraway and Memories in Regina.
Do you have any recommendations for next time I head up?
@@owlivdejong5086 Sorry, I rarely get to go to a fancy restaurant but I enjoy trying to learn French cooking. Saskatoon does have very fancy restaurants though.
In Vancouver there used to be a pho restaurant called “Pho Bich Nga”. You can pictures of it online.
Long gone now tho.
