This is THE VOICE. This show call the voice, so he use 99% of his voice, so nothing wrong with that.
He's tuning his voice to adapt the song to himself and that is just unfair towards other contestants. However he is stunning and good at it, but what he does is more of music than singing and its different things
@@KarishaInDaHouse Why is it unfair? It call "the voice" not "the singing only" competition + he use his voice to make the music. Other can do the same, but they cant, so that why ppl say it unfair because they cant do what he do. Hahaha
@@mhz6886 sure, saying that he's too skilled would be unfair too. But his skill is not that of voice but more of using his dj platform to enhance his vocal. Thats why its unfair towards the other competitors, they are using only their voice while he uses technical instruments to enhance his voice and performance. This show is about voice, but his music is about his dj station. However im not saying that he cant sing, on the contrary he surely has voice and can sing too, but that is not how he won the competition, and that is unfair.

@@KarishaInDaHouse pardon? Yes he uses a technical device called as the loopstation or in that case The RC-505. Does the other singers playing the instruments by their own or not? He does every beat on his own. To perform and also using his voice. Beatboxing or looping is a very high skill which need to be learned to use my friend. Dont talk over stuff u dont into bro

Sam Perry deserves his own record deal with the kind of talent he has and I have to disagree with Boy George AKA the queen of england that he has to be booted out because he wasn't singing....I don't know what crack he was smoking when he made that judgement, but he has lost my respect as a artist for not recognizing the complexities of the artist name Sam Perry.

I don't like "singers" whos just sing the song as the original, its like karaoke. I like singers whos change the original music into their style. I like the originality. Sam Perry is full of originality since he creates his own music.

He definitely earned his win but let's face it even if he didnt win after even the second song he performed I doubt there would have been a club, bar, or music festival in Australia and even around the world that wouldn't try to get him in their door
So sad how Boy George wanted him in the beginning then when he realized Sam could win he had attitude! Sam is so much more then just a singer or a musician, he's a fantastic entertainer!

He has an amazing voice without all the extra stuff. I would vote for him with just his voice any day. That's what makes this not really all that controversial.
He's good. The entertainment value he brings to the show is crazy. The lights and beats are awesome. I'd definitely go to his concert
as a beatboxer/looper i can say that i am (and the whole community) really proud, that he shows how great our hobby is :)
Very few people could do what he has done. No backup. Only his ideas and creative talent. Talent; raw talent.
Whether he would be classified as a singer or not. hands down he is one of if not the most MOST talented performer I have seen in years.. Do you realize how complicated is it to create all those sounds with your own voice, work them together and still have the voice to sing so phenomenally. He is freaking AMAZING!!!!!

DaVinci did a lot of different things. Was he a painter? Or did he do to many other things to be considered a painter.
The argument basically comes down to "He's doing so many things, is he a singer?"
The question should have always been "Is he JUST a singer?" which would have been pretty strait forward to answer.
But the crowd took this spoon fed bull shit "controversy" and swallowed hook like and sinker. It was BS from day one.

I love when Sam battles AP and they do Sympathy For The Devil. Sam using his beatboxing and loop station blends so well with AP playing guitar. If you listen and see, Sam even loops AP's guitar playing with his station and it's really cool how they work together. I'd love to hear a full cover. I also like how they both use different styles of microphones which reflects their styles a little bit.

He is so original. He is singing and performing. And he is able to pull off so many different styles. He is amazingly talented.
Most interesting contestant they've had on the show by a country mile and completely made a singing contest relevant to the time, every song he covered the artist would of loved his version of it

This kid adapted to every song the coach threw at him and he took and
dominated it and mange to go for the theme and and get his voice sounding amazingly perfect every
point of the way.
I remember Adam Lambert coming out each week and we were all anxious to see what spin he put on a song we all knew. This guy took it to another plane. Are there 1000 voice contestants worldwide that are better pure vocalists...sure. What he did was so much next level from what we expect to see on these shows. The song choice, the vocal beds, the singing, the arrangement, the staging...it all adds up into something special even compared with the best pure vocal performances. Guessing the American version doesn’t allow this, but he would have won here as well.
Always got the Muse vibes in every of his performances. He's so dope
Since the voice I have gone back and watched his original content. If anyone deserved to win it was him. There are a lot of people out there that have great voices but sound just like 100 different people with great voices. Sam can sing and he has a very distinctive voice which sets him apart just by his voice. Add in his ability to create music from nothing but his own voice and his ability to put sounds together to create something so inspiring and so unique. Is he a musician, is he a singer, is he a DJ. I would say yes to all. He deserved to win.
gotta say that battle against AP was absolutley breathtaking i cant stop watching it, their styles mixed so perfectly and seemingly effortlessly

well... his doing is very common in the beatbox scene.. just Take a look at MB14 ( he is a looper with high skill, clean musik , ofc only his voice - no effects added like sam do. ) u can exchange him very fast tbh^^

Pretty crazy, thats some insane talent, i don't see how hes controversial, sure his voice isn't the stand out part of his performance but he demonstrates more vocal ability then any of the performers just singing, his voice is by no means behind the other competitors when hes normally singing but he goes beyond to use it to build background music for a song often rebuilding the song to suit his style which is more then any of the other performers can say since 90% are just singing covers to the key of the original which won't really get you anywhere, you need originality if the voice, idol, got talent are anything to show theres plenty of people who can sing just as well as you, so singing a mirror cover of the original won't get you anywhere in the industry.
I love the way he talks a bit about building the song. His timing, melody, harmonics, beats. They are and half to be impeccable. And he pulls it off. He's so amazingly talented. Hope he sells out arenas
