I'm not sure if you're aware but the artists record their voices then speed it up/down pitch up/down bend up/down etc etc so that they can loop around 5 live and several live recorded live samples that they can then use as cue-point intros to create totally unique genuine 8/16 bar songs etc using only their voice and a tool to manipulate it. Your dismissal of everything else is an "instrument" is downright offensive, sorry but you clearly have no clue how talented in so many areas you have to be to create this sort of music, shame on you
Why did France 5 judges in 2021, I know that there has sometimes been more than 4 judges before but that usually happens when there is a duo for 1 or more judge spots. This was just there being 5 separate judges
I like the loopers but it doesn't really fit the contest. It's a totally different form of music. To be really fair, they need their own venue. The only people that still fit are people with competitive vocal ability on the same level as the other contestants who are just using the looping as backup instead of the instruments. Only a few people in this compilation were on that level vocally. The others created a club like atmosphere that is always going to be exciting but the show isn't "the looper". It's "the voice".
How is it different from "contestants" who join as groups of people? If anything, it fits the contest better than any other singer since they are literally **the voice**. If you are talking genres of music, then that introduces unnecessary categorization imo, because then you could say that rappers aren't at the same level, or someone who is singing opera outmatches everyone else. It is fair game as long as the voices aren't being artificially altered in my opinion, but repeptition does not imply altering hence why a separate venue is not needed.
