Isn't it 2/100mm runout considering that you have a 0.01mm indicator? I have just added the same type of collet to my lathe, and i got similar runout at first. I manage to reduce it down to few microns by clocking the collet using the next screw hole and gently tapping the collet before fully tightening the screws.
I have been thinking about getting a collet chuck doe my Logan 200. It came with some 3c collets and I want something larger. What brand is that chuck?
@@EnglishHobbyMachinist Mines only a hobby machine. I used to have an ML7 and a colchester student square head, sold them and bought this pile of junk in their place. I've regretted it every day since.

What brand chuck, back plate, and where did you get it? I could use one for my Rockwell 10" X 36" lathe!

wish mine was that good. I'm at 0.02 which I think is very good for chinese c&@p.
I know what you mean about Chinese Cr@p, but as a hobbyist I can’t justify buying professional grade equipment, maybe if I was forty years younger 😂
