20,000 hits. Although I think 1000 are because of me... I adore this song :) Surprising how many people have watched this, clearly not his most popular hit but still has a cult following. I suppose many don't like him deviating from his "prog" style but at least he had courage to delve into other genres. Besides, his cheeky smile makes this video :)
Thanks ever so for posting this vid...never did see it when it first came out, but heard about it from a friend, which sounded very intriguing. This was the first vinyl I bought of Steve's...loved it so much I immediately went out and bought 'Spectral Mornings' & 'Defector'. Wish I had seen this band live...but managed to catch him a year later on his 'Cured' tour. Wonderful memories...Thanks!
WOW! Thanks for posting this! I never knew it existed! That has always been my favorite track from Defector and to see that there was a vid made for it is very cool!
What a strange video! But I LOVE Steve Hackett, and I agree with sunboyfun, I like the smirk! And I actually dig this tune -- one of Steve's great little pop tunes.
I really like this song, not to fussed on the "disco" bass line though. Like the vocal melodies and movement on the synth. It does reflect the time though, that early 80's thing.
I love Steve, I love his music - I love this song... This is the worst music video I've seen in a long time. (local middle school drama dept may have helped?)
Most people dont know this superb song exists. what a great posting.
Nice song and video, even with the pop influence all prog composers and bands had in the early 80's, still, it's Master Hackett playing there !
very nice and original the funky bass line in a rock-progressive song like this...

Superb!
I love steve!
Great find.
Was the most talented Genesis songwriter by miles ... awesome.
ah when music was beautiful and that music still is!!!
This little gem has been rattling around my head for years, and at last it has turned up again! Catchy, simple riff, was it ever a single?
I agrre, not the thing Id normally listen to, but this is catchy, saw him do it on The Defector Tour.
"Defector" is one of my favorite Steve Hackett's album.

Love the '70s funky bass line in this as well as the synthesizer riff and vocals. As far as I'm concerned, Steve can do no wrong.
Still a good song, after all those years, beautiful voices, slightly uncanny guitars

amazing video
what a surprise .great
I wonder if this song has any type of reference to his time w/Genesis if you know what I mean
remember seeing this live
Alan Parsons' 'Children of the Moon' 1982, from Eye in the Sky Album is a virtual copy of this riff. Check it out for yourself.
no no no. Not is copy. Very Different.
great video!!!!-even greater song!!-is this from "cured"??
It's from Defector.. but was a sign of things to come maybe?
skintrade
kool
Awesomesauce!! =D
little tune, big fun!
good old steve, sometimes he makes bad choices (nad sylvan anyone?), but he definitely knows how to do it
this was awesome, no wonder he was in genesis XD!!!! haha
Isn't that keyboard riff from a Genesis song in the 80's? Sounds REALLY familiar...just not placing it.
@voloaltissimo vero, però vedi l'ironia che ha voluto mettere nel pezzo.. anche il video lo dimostra, molto scherzoso ;-)
Touch of Brideshead in the group shots 3.20.

little tune, big compulsion to hear it ehehehehhe
@vinkalor Not Cured, Defector.
trop la classe steve, chaque album ne ressemble a aucun autre
Tout à fait. Le dernier en date, "Wolflight", est sans conteste l'un des meilleurs disques de 2015.
Haha, yeah! Didn't notice that until now and I have been a Hacket/Genesis fan since I learned to shit!!!
I love Steve, I love his music - I love this song...
This is the worst music video I've seen in a long time.

ES UNA CRITICA A LA MÚSICA COMERCIAL
money.....no object
Love this vid. Steve's cynical little grin says it all...Is it just me, or does anyone else think the performers look like the very first Cybermen?
Is that supposed to be Slender Man?
1 person couldn't hackett
suvvia ragazzi, Steve è il mio musicista preferito, un vero genio, ma The Show è veramente una cagata.... :))
'disagree; i personally appreciate "pop sensibilities." if i want art rock devoid of that, i'll listen to mid period Jethro Tull.
The video is kind of lame... too same-y. It needed a couple more visual elements added in. But of course this WAS 1980.
stupidest video everrr, but i love it! its funny cause its soo cheesy! ahaha:)
Love all things Steve just not this, must be satire?
Seen it, it's not even this bad. But it's close. Ssu-ssu-ssudio...god, that's worse I guess because the song sucks. You got me.
this would of not sounded out of place on either and then there were three or duke if steve stayed
