I was stunned to hear that you cosign for an apartment, even for your children. I’m going to be charitable and assume that you’ve taught them well and that you are taking very little risk, that you can trust they will handle their financial business properly and you will never be called upon by the landlord to make the rent payments. I watch a lot of your episodes but unfortunately I’m not able to catch all of them. I don’t know if you’ve dealt with this issue in the past or not. Unfortunately many parents and friends and other relatives don’t understand the implication of cosigning. They somehow seem to have the idea that their signature is magic and that it has no significance on the document other than the beauty of their particular style of writing their name.
Best to freeze your credit reports. It is a pain to unfreeze though. Never give your SSN to any doctor, dentist, etc. office. I was told by a government agency that 60% of all. hacks are from these offices. I received a letter from my ophthalmologist office stating my data was hacked. I only give a mailing address and as little data as possible. If you are paying cash, do not give DOB.
Guess what a Credit Freeze DOES NOT do? It DOESNT prevent someone with your SS #, DOB, address and phone number from opening a bank account, hacking your existing bank account and transferring all your money to the account they just opened! Ask me how I know!!
Well done Azul. Seems to me that going to see if you have been hacked simply creates a NEW RECORD out there which can also be hacked. I agree, you probably have been hacked so what is the point. I will also state that the recent hack and others in the past, is just what we know about. There are likely more that we are unaware of. So, freeze your credit and of course, always monitor your credit records. Above all, dont take the bait, click the link, even snail mail. Everything, EVERYTHING is SUSPECT now. Best - mp

I feel like the Internet itself could be obliterated because no one‘s gonna be able to tell fiction from reality ….
The lines are already blurred
Azul.
What breach are you referring to? Details?
Thank you! Very helpful
Unfreezing credit from 3 major credit bureaus can be done all online, no need to call. takes about 2 minutes each.
Who hacked it? Was it foreign or domestic?
Abolish credit. These three monopolies organizations that run the shoe.
is it possible to change our SSNs? and would that fix it?
Which company got hacked?
What is the name of the company?
What record/check company just got hacked? I don't recall hearing the name.
When did this happen? Months ago? Days ago? Wonder how long the info has been out there.
Wow. I did this unexpectedly yesterday. Was a great move I see!
Is your credit joined if you’re married Or do you have to freeze it individually?
So what's the FIX! I didn't find that part!?
Is this referring to the breach in August of 2024? If not, which breach is this referencing? If it is the August breach why is this coming out now?
This dude is an investment advisor. Focusing on retirees. That's about the last place I would go for advise on SECURITY. Why is nobody else talking about this BIGGEST HACK IN US HISTORY???????
My bank let me know within hours of when it happened and I agreed to a credit freeze. Same with my SSN. I'm covered as good as possible.
Can you use your current credit cards still if we do a credit freeze?
Yes. My credit cards work fine even though credit is locked at the three agencies.
These breaches are caused by humans and those humans should be held accountable!
As someone who works in fraud call the credit bureau’s and lock your credit! No loans or credit will be extended. Advise you are a victim of identity theft.
Thank you for the video. I don’t know whether this is a matter of semantics but I do have my credit monitored currently after a previous identity theft. I was urged to place a Credit Lock vs. a Credit Freeze on my credit. After this most recent credit breech, there have been two attempts to inquire about my credit.
Record spending this holiday season. Consumer spending is strong. Not sure where your statement is coming from? People are not cutting back. That’s part of the problem.
We need to go after the bad guys ourselves. Credit monitoring does not do a whole lot.
Just think Facebook and any free social media app sells your data. How do you think they pay all their tech geek employees who most make six figures. It’s all from selling your data analytics to other companies for research and marketing purposes.
1:57 When cops asked the nonplused perp in custody why he wouldn't quit holding up banks after being caught repeatedly , he replied: ' ...because that's where the money is.' ( drum roll stops with cymbal crash ! $;*O)
Why didn't you tell us who was responsible for this hack?
Hey Parisian - I didn’t share that info because it wasn’t clear when I filmed the video, what group was responsible. Has that been determined now? If so, please feel free to share that with us in the chat. Thanks for the question… 🙏 Azul
because spending 10 seconds on an Internet search tells you USDoD was the hacker group responsible.
Freeze ur credit and that can help! U can unfreeze it in under a minute and then refreeze it to protect yourself.
You are always the most informative on these topics with no shrill. Thank you!
I never heard his promised details about what happened besides a hack, did you?
Thank you for the information
This happened in January. A little late to the dance here.
True innovations create surpluses, not deficits and massive debt!!!!
Where and when did thid hack take place? You offer no details about the "hack".
This is VERY OLD NEWS!
I'd suggest you wake up.
The credit bureaus should have freeze defaults that you have to opt out of. Geez. I have mine frozen.
How is it possible that my bank knows nothing of this hack?
I’m hearing nothing about this anywhere other than you?
Help me out here…
It was good until it’s not.
What were the Telecom companies that were hacked by China?
“Just recently” didn’t this happen already close to a year now, maybe 2. Because it took them awhile to even disclose the hack.
Did a freeze four months ago. Not buying anything, anyhow ❤
Locking your SSN # is also important.
Where's the headline, about what data hack?
News sources please.
Credit freezes work great, but If you need it removed in a hurry, it's not gonna happen.
Also, Ft Knox is empty!
Did I miss him saying the name of the company?
I recently read that you can lock your Social Security Number. Any thoughts on that?
Thanks Azul
🙏🙏
I froze my accounts with each credit bureau right after the social security breach earlier this year.
Gee I wonder who created this hacking issue. Govt.
Freeze your credit with the credit bureaus to protect yourself
Guess what a Credit Freeze DOES NOT do? It DOESNT prevent someone with your SS #, DOB, address and phone number from opening a bank account, hacking your existing bank account and transferring all your money to the account they just opened! Ask me how I know!!
Also, get Identity Protection insurance.
Best - mp
What is the name of the company the you are referring to above?
Probably back check
Possibly National Public Data, search for National Public Data Breach
I own 2 laundromats in low income areas. I work about 25 hours a week and gross about 240K a year. whilst working with an advisor like Julianne Iwersen Niemann. I used to work in Sears repairs,, so I saved money by fixing my own machines. Believe it or not, the soap detergent vending machines bring in a good amount as well. Trust me starting and maintaining a profitable business starts with properly managing your finance.
Laundromats are easy to operate...I know this lady you mentioned. I bought a laundromat from a friend many years ago who retired overseas. Repairs are costly. Try to at least learn the basics. I have bill acceptor machines to exchange for tokens, much better than counting and hauling quarters . My locations are near low income housing and apartments, which are very good for business.
I owned 3 laundromats in SF. The biggest 3 issues? The Lease, the lease and the lease. Got screwed by two owners that didn't renew the lease. If you own the building, different story. Probably, it will not be bad to work with your advisor
thanks for talking about your situation. Definitely helps a young and desperate poor guy like me to stay encouraged in striving to achieve my first ever owned business ... 240 gr. < - electric, water, mechanical, supplies, janitorial, city taxes, county taxes, insurance, business license heat, cooling costs & misc.. = ? . these taxes really want to make me work with a CFA. so that i can know how to joggle my way through. how do i reach her
Julianne Iwersen Niemann has always been on the top of my list..She is regarded as a genius in her area and well knowledgeable about financial markets. I highly recommend you look her up if you need an excellent collaboration.
Thank you for sharing, I must say, Julianne appears to be quite knowledgeable. After coming across her web page, I went through her resume and it was quite impressive.
I don't believe I have ever had an official background check done on me. at least since the internet was a thing.
I have no doubt they used an employees login details .
Buy valuable property. It's hard to steal that.
With the market at such a high level at this point where do you currently have your investments allocated as a % (stocks/bonds/cash)? Thanks so much.
One year living expenses in cash reserve, your age as a percent in bonds, rest in stocks. Adjust annually.
Beware of SCAMS!
