In this stream, I go over the list of parts used in making one of my animatronic skeletons. This list is available publicly on patreon.com/CatsMenagerie. I also answered a variety of questions from the chat covering topics such as programming, building the skeleton, and more.

I'm seeing a some questions about the audio setup for the show so I'll address it here real quick:
The audio is played from the computer (coming from the program you used to program the animatronic itself), so I just connect a bluetooth speaker to the computer and place the speaker in the yard. Wired speakers would also work as well and could help if there are ever any issues with the delays sometimes found in bluetooth. I'll be sure to cover this in the next stream.
Also, here's an update on the next stream and why I've been a little quiet lately: ruclips.net/video/APhraH5GUhE/видео.html

This is super useful! I did my own skeleton based off this tutorial a couple of years ago, but using cheap Amazon servos, wooden dowels, bits of twisted wire and paper clips to make the connections, little threaded eyehooks in the back of the skull. I'm ready to upgrade and this new video came at the perfect time. Very helpful parts list!

Excellent video! I got my skeleton from Walgreen's a couple year's ago. Hopefully they're the same this year. Just bought all the parts and I am going to start putting it together.

SO SAD I only found you yesterday, saw a reference on a FB Halloween group. A couple years ago I made a moving skull jaw using just the audio and a simple transistor (transistor, resistor, diode... ish) circuit to move a geared motor (from an old broken store-bought prop) and it worked beautifully. I can see marrying that with your skull servo system (don't need to program that)! I also wonder, if you crossed the rods in the back (X between the servos and the skull attachments) would you get more left/right movement??? I still love it! Thank you for doing what you do!

This is great and I will be leaning on this to bring my scenes to a new level. As I m new to servos and animatronics can you explain what you do with the computer and audio when the scene is actually setup and live. If you have multiple scenes do you need two computers?

Hi. Don't you need a speaker connected to the skeletons? Also - Dollar Tree has a wide variety of plastic boxes for only $1. :) Btw, what tool did you use to cut the holes in your plastic bix without breaking the box? Thanks!

I would recommend it. If you have the laptop with the skeletons and if it is loud enough, you could just let it use the internal speakers as well, but it is up to you and the budget. I use a bluetooth speaker but if there's ever an issue with delays then a wired speaker will work as well.
And that's a great tip about the plastic boxes! They can be unreasonably expensive sometimes so it's good to know about that, thanks!
I'll talk about this more when I can do the next live-stream, but there are a couple ways to do it depending on what tools you have or what your preference is. I typically mark out the rectangular hole, use a Dremel tool to cut a smaller rectangular hole out of the middle. Then, I use a metal file to file those edges out until they meet the markings I made. I have found this to be the easiest and way to make a very clean rectangular hole. If you don't have a Dremel, you can also drill out a hole in the middle but either using a step drill to make a large circular hole and filing out from there, or using a regular drill bit to drill out four spots into a rectangular hole.
So basically, use whatever tool/method you prefer to cut an unclean hole in the middle of where you want your rectangular hole to go and then use the files to file those edges until they create the clean rectangular hole that you want.
      Hope that helps!

FYI, during playback, at full volume, your sound is pretty low. Ads though, they are plenty loud. I would get you mic levels higher for future tutorials. Otherwise, great tutorial. Thank you.
