Hola Carmen! I love vanilla perfume and body sprays when it’s cold. 🥶 It’s good that you are starting the year off, decluttering. I woke up this morning thinking that……I might be a hoarder because I can’t imagine getting rid of my stuff that I have too much of and that includes perfume & body prays. Although, I’m doing good because I haven’t gone to Bath&bodyworks.
This is a safe space, you hoard your perfumes all you want 😉

I love Nirvana Bourbon and very much dislike Vanilla Woods, they have no similarities to my nose but check with me next year to see if my nose changed again.. who knows! 😅😅 Good job decluttering!
Carmen just go with your gut feeling. I have de-cluttered many perfumes only to re-purchase them up to three times only to end up de-cluttering them all again lol. I have tried and purchased hundreds of perfumes in the last five or six years but I now have downsized to 25. I would like to get down to around ten and I love the smaller size bottles because I worry they will go bad. Good luck on the downsizing. It’s so hard to pick a favorite with so many to pick from.

If it didn't work out the first time, it's for a reason. I'm trying not to blind buy anymore either so I don't bring in perfumes I don't love.
25 seems like a perfect number to still have variety but not be overwhelmed with too many perfumes.
Would love to know some of your final 25? So interesting how much you've been able to narrow down after trying hundreds.

Hi girl! ❤ It really does take a concerted effort to declutter, it would be a lot easier to just keep everything. 😅 And I'm currently decluttering my whole house.. I started with my upstairs bathroom and holy cow! It's tough and you have to really get in the right frame of mind and make yourself release stuff! But then it feels so good afterwards. 🥰
Right! I can't just declutter whenever! When I feel in a decluttering mood, I take advantage!
I agree to avoid those declutter regrets. I move on mentally and never go back. I am glad you talked about Casablanca. I was just about to order it, but will layoff for a bit. I gave Kayali 28 to my daughter and love smelling it on her more than I ever did wearing it. No regrets. Can’t wait for the rest of this series.

Its definitely my favorite vanilla of all time! It lasts a lot better on clothes! But it is very light indeed.

Nirvana bourbon is too much pencil shavings to me that I don’t love it. I have a bottle and plan to just use it up by layering. I find it way different from Vanilla woods (the pear in vanilla woods stands out a lot to me).
Vanilla Woods is not linear to me and I like the dry down more than the opening. I don't think I love Pear 😕
I think my nose just isn't familiar enough with Woody vanillas to pick up every difference. I think Bourbon smells more interesting but I can tell the ingredients are cheaper.
I’ve got a bunch listed on Mercari that I’m decluttering but I’m wanting to pick up a second hand bottle of vanilla woods as one of my buys this year. Im being super strict and it will be a super low buy year but that’s one that’s been on my list.
Hope your perfumes sell soon! One thing I do is transfer the money to my bank account right away so I don't feel tempted to use that "credit". Before my brain convinces me it's free money and I can spend it on Mercari.

I don't think your nose is a snob! Some of the most expensive perfumes I've smelt in the last few years are FULL of Aroma Chemicals. Tbf, one of your faves Blanche Bête has a lot and that perfume is mad pricey - smells gourmand to you but smells like sweet body lotion to me, so ingredients vs price can swing so far in either direction! I feel like it's as much to do with trends as well as depleting natural resources, convenience and making thing vegan etc, as it is price.
Showing my age here but it's like in the 80s when everyone got over excited about electric keyboards and sound effects then replaced all their musicians with fake instruments! Now the songs sounds sooooo dated and tinny and soulless! The real instruments and musicians started to come back though and these days we have the perfect mix!. I'll wager the same will happen with perfumes! ❤❤❤
100% agree with you!!
I think so many natural fragrance ingredients have been banned due to people allergic. That's why so many perfumes keep getting reformulated too.
I noticed Blanche Bete had some weird aromachemical musk in the ingredients and I don't smell it😱 its one of the only ones I'm anosmic to I guess.
I hope in the future we find the right balance! Because so far the fragrances I can enjoy are getting fewer and fewer.
I really wish that instead of banning natural ingredients they would let us choose. I understand some people can't wear them but some of us can't wear aromachemicals either. So they are only catering to one side 🤷♀️
