Hey Leah! Just to clarify, when you mentioned 'except for cysteine,' does that imply that for cysteine, the stereochemistry is reversed, meaning D corresponds to L and R corresponds to S?
yes, the stereochemistry is reversed, but you have to be careful: L corresponds to R and D corresponds to S. (D cant correspond to L because D/L are exact opposites (they describe Aminoacids).
Great video, thank you. Would you recommend watching the longer video on the same topic as well?
That's up to you, the longer video goes into more depth with more information, but the takeaway should be the same
I want to cries everytime I study for the MCAT. I swear I can feel physical pain looking at these 😢
I'm so sorry to hear that! Have you checked out the resources on leah4sci.com/mcat? I want to help you reach your MCAT goal
Great video, thanks!
You're very welcome!
love your videos Leah!
Thank you, glad you like them!

DR and LS except for cysteine which is DS and LR
thank you, this video helped me so much with this!
You're so welcome, I'm happy to help!
Still confused on saying that the number 4 H being at the back?
I cover the basics of stereochemistry including what to do with #4 (H) in my chirality videos
Watch them here: leah4sci.com/chirality-stereochemistry-enantiomers-diastereomers-r-s-organic-chemistry-tutorial-series/
5:00 should be CH2 not CH3
You're correct! Thanks for catching that. :)
Thank you so much mam
You're so welcome 😊
Wow❤❤❤ im from chile i'm studying nursing i've always accomplished with chemistry, but you saved meee 😭😭😭😭 thank you very much!!!!!
I am so happy to help! Nurses are SO needed worldwide, keep going!
