    Although atomicempire.com works for some 3rd party pathfinder content, the REAL site Wolf is talking about is Pathfinder Infinite! Thank you @John Willis ! www.pathfinderinfinite.com/

    Thanks for the shoutout!
    Others have mentioned Pathfinder Infinite.
    The PFS website resources could be... better. But the venture captains seem passionate and are very helpful.
    I actually am planning a vid similar to this myself! I will direct people to you guys when I get to the accessories part! :D

    I might have missed it but I want to throw another PF2 character creation tool called Wanderer's Guide! It's my personal favorite and you don't have to pay(you do have to pay for Pathbuilder) anything to use the bigger alternate rules, i.e. Free Archetype and Ancestral Paragon(or something like that)!

    • @brospros6327
      @brospros6327 Год назад +1

      It's literally my preferred sheet as it literally automates everything, I use that alongside owl bear(VTT) and recently Dungeon Alchemist to make maps.

    • @joedafrogman
      @joedafrogman Год назад

      to be clear, you ONLY have to pay for Pathbuilder if you want any of the following features:
      1. a number of variant rules such as Automatic Bonus Progression, Paragon Ancestries, Free Archtype(this is likely the one many groups would want but again it is still a variant rule), Progression without level and a small number of rules many other tables won't run.
      2. Save to google... this is a nice feature to be able to move from browser to browser across multiple machines. it also keep you from loosing access if your dump your browser cache or your computer takes a dump on you.
      I do however agree that this tool should be shouted out.. I personally hate Wandersguide but others may find it easier to use OR not be able or willing to put in any money to Pathbuilder(to be fair I have a number of issues with Pathbuilder as well but thats another issue, it just happens that Pathbuilder works better for me and I am willing to pay a bit for that)

    Hey guy, recent subscriber because I am a Pathfinder not D&D guy. That said, enjoying the Pathfinder reviews even though I know how most of the system runs.
    I happen to be a Venture Agent in Toledo, Ohio so I can help explain a few things and point you in the correct direction.
    So Pathfinder Society or more specifically the Organized Play Foundation which includes PF2e, PF1e, and Starfinder, is similar to the D&D adventure league. You play your character(s) as members of the Pathfinder or Starfinder Society starting at level 1, earning set experience for each scenario you play up to 12th level(I believe that is the current cap), and can take them to game tables anywhere in the world that there is a Pathfinder Society running events. There are usually an A and B storyline for each season which often cross over near the end of the season leading up to a large scale event that run at conventions with multi-table co-operation with as few as 3 tables and at shows like Gencon near 30 tables all working toward the final goal splitting the tasks between them.
    There are hundreds of game stores and conventions all over the US running events regularly and thanks to a certain corporation that will be unnamed interested persons are showing up daily inquiring in our area. The events and groups are out there you just need to know how and where to look.
    Interested persons can register and run simply by purchasing a Paizo scenario of the type they seek and registering the event on the website.
    Scenarios run about 4 hours for an experienced GM, Bounties are 1-hour One-shots, Modules tend to be 1 book that runs 12-16 hours of play broken up into manageable chunks, and Adventure Paths are 3 or 6 books that can easily take several months to a year to complete lastly there are several Free RPG day scenarios that you can get directly from Paizo's site as well.
    Check out these links for a start, with these you can search by state and stores where people have registered groups and local Organizers.
    Locations with lodges
    Paizo.com/Paizo/locator
    New Player page
    www.organizedplayfoundation.org/new-players-pop/
    Co-ordinators
    www.organizedplayfoundation.org/communities/paizo/findpop/
    Also Pathfinder Society group on Facebook
    Additionally you mentioned Roll for Combat, they run the largest dedicated Online Organized Play Foundation Pathfinder/Starfinder Lodge.
    Also for other great Pathfinder podcasts check out The Glass Cannon Network.
    Never checked to see if RUclips had direct messages but if they do feel free to message me with other questions otherwise I try to keep up with the Pathfinder Society Facebook page.

    Pathfinder Society is pretty much the Pathfinder equivalent of Adventurer's League in d&d 5e.

  • @Stansark
    @Stansark Год назад +6

    The Humble Bundle Also includes premium content for Foundry VTT, the beginners box, and Abomination Vaults. These premium modules are insanely good, you thought the beginners box was good for irl play, the Foundry stuff takes it a step beyond. The pathfinder society is basically irl much like the adventurers guild for dnd. In Golarian the pathfinder society are a world(and planar) wide 'guild' of various adventurers, there are archetypes you can take (the pathfinder form of multiclassing) to become full fledged members of the pathfinders. the RUclipsr FullyTrainedNoob (tiny channel) has recently run the beginners box through for a couple of new folk to ttrpgs as well as 5e vets, using the previously mentioned Foundry modules..

    • @roll4stealth671
      @roll4stealth671 Год назад +2

      Just a little bit of correction, the humble bundle does not contain the foundry module for the beginners box only abomination vaults but it does provide you with the digital version of the beginners box which will apply a discount to the foundry module (if you use foundry the module it is well made and worth it)

    PFS is available on the official website, but you are right it's usually a local thing. It basically is like Adventure League, if you've ever interacted with that for 5e D&D it's pretty similar.

    I already had some of the online Paizo products from their last Humble bundle, but their new one still had enough value for me to lay down the cash. Its a great collection, even if you're not a Pathfinder player, with maps and pawns which you can use in other games. Can't believe I hadn't been aware of Pathfinder Nexus, thank you for giving it a shout out, look forward to your next vid!

      @johnathanrhoades7751 Год назад +4

      Like all TTRPG’s, it needs both rules and rulings, but yeah. Better rules than 5e. Learning from others is great, though, and a lot of people learn better that way than reading the text.

      All AD&D spinoffs have rules-- and all of them tell the Judge to do with them what they will to create the best game for their players. PF2eR is no different. Its says so very early in the GM Core.

    Pathfinder Society can be run from home as well. You need to run sanctioned material (Scenarios usually) - Venture captain is a high rank in the real world Society you'd start out as an agent under a lieutenant maybe move up the ranks. You do not have to be an agent to organize a game. You just need a sanctioned adventure and a group, you can report the game online through Paizo Organized play. Society is fun.

      I get the feeling that minis power a LOT of their sales. and going to pawns would decimate that part of their business. i picked up the bestiary pawn box yesterday at my LGS for 60 bucks (canadian) and that's basically... 4 medium sized D&D Minis. i know, cuz they where right there beside them :P

  • @roll4stealth671

    nexus isn't "free" they do have a primer that is free but you have to purchase the books just like you did with DDB, the biggest difference is you also get the PDF of the book included in the price or if you already own the PDF you will get a discount on Nexus for their product. Another thing is the character tools are in Alpha/Beta phase at moment so not as good as DDB's (yet).

    Just got 11 of their books and the beginner box.... I am not excited about the standies, they cut off weapons and other things off the images. It seems crazy for a mass produced item to not actually be cut "around" the image...or make the image smaller so it fits

    • @AlexPBenton
      @AlexPBenton Год назад

      The images are just whatever art was already made for the given creature, and cutting unique shapes would not be cost-effective, so they just didn't bother with that.

    NoNat1s can go a bit too far in pretending his experiences are universal and then impugning the honesty of viewers if they dare to differ. In the short term i just disliked the videos in which he tries to be ‘funny’ by calling me a liar. In the longer term, I’ve since spent more time watching How It’s Played and The Rules Lawyer, who aren’t substituting shock for quality and making negative assumptions about viewers they don’t know.
