People like to say they're "just" sport touring tires, but my first gen Angel GTs carried me up into intermediate group on track with no issues. 90% of sport bike rides will get more grip than they ever need from sport touring tires. Highly recommend.
Highway 9! Ha Ha! I learned how to race on that road. We would race from Saratoga to Felton and back, full out race back in the day. I'm taking 40 years ago. And I really mean racing there and back with an average speed of 80mph. Try that today! Back then there were no speed limits, no cops with radar, no stop signs. Nothing but smooth black top. Good Luck!
Thats crazy! I remember when I was young like around 17 and just amazed by all the cool jdm cars and motorcycles that would just rip through 9. You don't ride anymore?
@@CoffeeBrakes Just got back from Cycle Gear where I picked up one of those stick-on gas tank protectors for my ZX-10. Yea, I'm still alive and riding! Too many retards on Hwy 9 though to ride like we used to. Way too crowded now with idiots.
I have continental something on my R1 that came with it. Once it's time to replace them I will put on the Michelin Road 5. That's what I put on my cbr600rr when I had it, pricy but man they last FOREVER. and the grip is more than enough for the streets so their my new favorite tires now
Cool, I have the Michelin Road Pilot 4 Gt's, it also has hybrid rubber. Harder in the middle for long commutes with the shot stuff on the sides for the curves. I like them so far. If I did not get these tires, I would of got yours. I think I may get the Pirelli Angel GT IIs for my RC51 next.
The road Pilots are excellent for commuting. Nice, always want to ride an RC51. I definitely recommend the Pirelli Angel GT II. They also feel smooth in the canyons. Have you road up to Alice's on hwy 9?
@@CoffeeBrakes Not yet on the bikes love the area though. I used to meet up there with some buddies back in day. It seems like car people meet up at one time and bikes at another which is pretty funny. Which part is hwy 9? I think I used hwy 84 to get there. It is a little ways away from me now but would make a nice ride on the weekend for sure.
Original GT's are better than the 2's. I'd get Road 5's or Angel GT version 1 personally. The GT 2's are know for pulling you around in grooved pavement.
Think you are a bit optimistic with 10-15k miles. I have these on my blade & have 5000klms (3000mls) and reckon I will get another 2000mls out of them at most. Still way better than my previous 2000 mile tyres.
Have gotten any of these “wobbles” from the front I’ve been reading about? I really want these but that wobble from what I’m reading is pushing me away but it might just be the few
Absolutely, for any tires, always warm them up before riding hard. If it's below freezing point (snowing), I recommend getting tire warmers, the same one used for track.
In freezing weather the tire warmer advice is applicable, but only if you're riding VERY hard in the mountains or on track. If you're riding at normal road speeds tire warmers will only help for the first couple minutes. Check out some of the British motorcycle journalists, they do a good job of covering tire performance in really cold conditions.
Dude you know it's not good to lug your engine like that right? Use the gas and let the revs get up there a bit. It killed me how many times I heard the engine almost shudder cause you were in way too high a gear. These bikes make thier power above 7k rpm.
Appreciate the input bro. I took this road on 2nd and 3rd gear. It's hard to get the revs up if I didn't go according to my skill level. That's why the revs were not in the 7k range. I know more experienced riders that can take this road on 70-80mph. Anyways, thanks for stopping by bro.
@@CoffeeBrakes my bad man, I do see you have your bike set up more for a commuter than all out sport riding. I actually should be giving you props for not riding like a jack ass at double the speed limit. It's just not good for your bike to lug it. You could easily have stayed in first or second the entire time but again. At your skill level. Definitely don't try to ride beyond it. Wise choice. Be safe and rubber side down man
All good bro! Yeah I'll take that advice next time I hit the back roads. Yeah, I don't ride like crazy but I'm trying to grasp the concept more. Anyways, thank you and you too man. Ride safe bro!

Nice dude! Yeah, I'm more afraid of other riders on 9 but I can't avoid Alices. Love going there and meet new people.
Wow, your video is super smooth!

😳😂😂😂Man thats crazy I thought I was the only one that felt the difference
Nah man haha these wheels are awesome. I think even better for your Mt09. Since you have a more upright bike.
I had the Angel GTs, I loved them lasted for a while too.
Nothing bad to say about them so far.

New tires are wheats fun and slick lol

I like to be optimistic but then again it depends on how hard you ride them. Nice! I've seen several people track these tires too.
Nice bike I dont get good mileage out of my back tire lol new sub here
Thank you and thanks for stopping by, what tires are you currently using?

I've had issues with Dunlops in the past, terrible for wet weather grip!
Which ones did you get?
@@CoffeeBrakes it was a few years ago now, when I had my Divvy (Seca II) so I can't remember unfortunately.. Sorry!
I’m going to put 190 55 17 on my Suzuki gsxs 1000 angel gt 2.
I'm debating to Get these Angel GT2 or Rosso 3...what do you guys think? 🤔🤔
Would these be decent in cold weather?
