There’s something seemingly off-limits about donating anything handmade. It could be from a friend, child, or family member, and it’s equally true for our own handmade items. Just because it’s handmade though, doesn’t mean you have to keep it forever. That is what I told myself when I decided to say goodbye to my college fabric dyeing class final project. This dishtowel art was 18 years old when I finally let it go. I had used it into the ground, which made my happy. (So many people don’t use things that are deemed too precious.) As with most items in my RUclips Minimalism Series, this one was hard to part with, but I did it anyway. If we hold onto everything forever that is a one of a kind, handmade, or a memento, then they bury us.
Please leave a comment about any special craft or project that you are now able to let go of!
