Thank you so much for sharing this, Kacy. It helps to ask the question "do I have something else handmade by them that means more/takes up less space"? I have been struggling with some hand knit sweaters made for me by my Grandma and Mom (both deceased), that no longer fit me. I have considered re-purposing them into throw pillow covers so they aren't lingering in my keepsake bin, but may photograph, label some "handmade", and let them go.

Shari, I'm so happy to know that this labeling idea might make it easier to pass the sweaters along. That is a tough one. Like I say to my clients though, just because it's [fill in the blank], doesn't mean you have to keep it forever. As hard as it's been to let some things go, I never look back, especially as a few weeks pass.

I have toooo small knitted slippers and mittens from my Nana, they were made to be worn, I can set them free. I will keep the pretty shawl which makes me think of her far more.

Perfect. Set them free! These are painful things to let go of, but often the right thing to do. Letting go of internal conflict about something that was meant to be meaningful sets your emotions free too.
