    This video teaches you how to do the most basic paper sort through 9 client examples. Not sure where to start, but feel like you have to spread it all out to see what you've got? You'll love these stories. I also share my favorite method for vertical sorting when you don't have enough floor space for a big spread. THIS, my friends, is the work many of you should be doing. It's not always a quick fix, but it's the way to do it RIGHT.
    Please leave a comment on the video and let me know what types of photos and lessons you want from my 23-year deep client photo history! If you've got a specific paper organizing problem, I've probably solved it before and have the photos to prove/teach it! Send in your requests.

    I've been steadily de-cluttering papers, next up hanging a thrifted wall unit with 6 file folder pockets for current projects. Thanks for all the inspiration!

    I've been slowly decluttering since I retired. and I've saved the best [lol] for last....Paper!! I never used my front door or front closet and am in the process of taking the rod out and installing several more shelves for all my binders, folders and paperwork. it will always be a work in progress. My goal is to have less and to know where everything is.

      I recommend buying a scanner, I have an Epson E500W. Trying to go paperless with just a binder for original docs like car title, insurance docs etc.

    In process of getting ready to move so I have a bookcase that just has boxes of books on it that I can remove and use for vertical sorting. Never would have thought of that. Have been so overwhelmed with all this paper and nowhere to sort it. Thank you so much! 😊

    I like to use those collapsible bins to sort things into. I sort mostly by date/year. Other organizing channels talk about sorting by “action” (things that need more immediate, within that month) attention....bills, coupons, birthdays coming up, etc. Then by short term (bills already paid, etc), and the Long Term (insurance policies, Taxes, etc). Then of course there are sentimental things. Most everything else can be chucked! It’s definitely a work in progress, always ongoing! TYFS ❤️🦋💜

      In future videos I'll share a lot about sorting via action vs. filing vs. archives. Thanks for watching.

    I have a two drawer filing cabinet in my room and I’m working on getting it down to one box filing. This was very helpful. It’s a long project in a sense that I only put in about half an hour maybe 15 minutes here and there. I rent a room so my room is the only space I have so I have to maximize everything to its fullest. Thank you again for your tips. Look forward to seeing progress in my room.

    Kacy, your channel and approach is unique and timely, if you have the bandwidth, would love to see more videos on what the "work looks like"! I am going through all of my parents' paperwork from the 50s through last year. The room with Bankers' boxes and walls/bookshelves of paperwork resonated with me and my situation!

      Oh my goodness - nearly all of my video ideas are for "what the work looks like." I think those are far more helpful than before/after photos. People need to see that there are lots of ways to do the work! I find that a lot of my clients are highly motivated, but they don't know what to do. I'll show you what to do. Thanks for visiting!

    I had similar situation.. sold a set of pricey books...the buyer contacts me saying it hadn't been delivered but after checking tracking found it was delivered I also had it sent it signature confirmation so I think this person got mad because he couldn't say he didn't get the item so then he had a problem with the cost of shipping so I refunded half shipping but mind you I didn't set the shipping charges eBay did anyways in the end found out this person isn't in united states and the address was his supposed roommate so yeah I feel like I got scammed but you live and learn

    How long do you need to keep medical insurance payments? Also, what is the best way to sort the. As they do not always go by date of service as it depends on when offices do their billing so the are out of date order.

    • @KacyPaide
      @KacyPaide  Месяц назад +1

      Do you mean explanations of benefits or paid medical bills? It depends. Most people keep the substantive medical papers that help them to track their medical history (lab results, docs' notes, etc.), and toss paid medical bills immediately or after a year or so. Some people keep certain medical bills b/c they help them to fill in the blanks on their medical history. If you paid enough in medical bills for a tax deduction, you'll want to keep those for at least 3 years. Check with your accountant on all of this. These are just norms, and many people are exceptions to the norm. I hope that gives you a place to start.

      @@KacyPaide I got a bill 2 yrs after the fact & had paid it but they had no record of it! Fortunately, I had proof that it had been paid. Although, they had a cancelled check it had been applied to some account. That's the problem .... 1 key stroke off and you could find yourself in a mess. I have most all my health hx because I'm complicated & have lots of MD's in alot of specialists. It's good to have a paper trail because I've already had another major problem that I had no proof of any attempt to address it except when I had my documentation. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have had anything to reference as companies, hospitals, etc. don't keep documentation, test results, etc. after 7 yrs.
