doc. am gonna have a hip bone graft to rebuild the upper jaw am missing 2 teeth .and also need gam graft , am very scared of what's gonna happen to my hip , am I gonna have walking or standing problems, and how big the scar is gonna be .

It had been infected for who knows how long. I would say at least a couple of months if not longer. The doctor who did the work kept telling me to use the liquid ant-biotic on the stiches so I did. When they were removed he wanted me to keep using it. Every time I did this it would bleed. After a few weeks I stopped because I was afraid I was irritating it and not giving it a chance to heal. By the way, I am very into health. I take a lot of vitamin C and eat very healthy foods. I am also spraying the area with colloidal silver. It has only been two months and it looks pretty good except for the spot where there is a tiny bit of bone sticking out. This is the area that kept bleeding too. This is also where he had stitched up my gum. I didn't think it looked very professional. I hope it all turns out well because I was feeling like this guy did not know what he was doing. He didn't even explain to me what to expect like the bone sticking out or that there might be bleeding. To me that is so unprofessional so I have not been feeling good about him. I hope this all works out. My moms dentist who recommended him seems to know what he is doing. I just want this to look great. It is my front tooth and it has never looked good. I had a sinus elevation and an extraction of my right maxillary tooth #5 due to an abscess.....a BMP graft was done and a temporary bridge placed. That was 18 days ago and despite being on antibiotics post-operatively I am having a foul smelling discharge from my right nostril! Shouldn't the abscessed tooth have been extracted and the infection treated BEFORE the sinus lift and graft was done.?

i had a bone graph after a gunshot wound the injury was the beginning of may a few months later i had the graph so about almost 4 months…my lower jaw was draining so my oral surgeon suggested he go in there and clean it out along with antibiotics for and infection cause it was kinda swollen…that was a month ago and its still draining a little not much even after the drainage tube has been taking out…the whole is open still i fumegate it 3 times a day….is this normal healing? how long before it closes up?
Bee Bee your healing will be a little bit out of the ordinary because significant dental trauma. You may require intravenous antibiotics and a culture and sensitivity to determine the type of bacteria that are present to make sure the right antibiotics are given. Good luck with everything. wow thats crazy i had a bone graft done on august 3 of this year , and today is the 15th of august. i have that same discharge coming from my nose and was wondering what it could be. it is yellow in color . also the major swelling on my face and neck has gone down but my gums around the area where the graft was places still feel very sore and swollen , it feels like the pain radiates into the rest of my face
+brent charvet yea I had gone back in and it turns out they gave me the wrong antibiotics. They gave me the right ones, the smell went away, and the graft healed fine. Check the antibiotic.
+Raheem Woods i hope the soreness/pain im feeling is not from infection and just the bone graft healing. i was also born with a cleft and i had to have my upper tooth extracted intitially due to a bad infection , then the doctor said to wait a week and let that heal before he places the bone graft ; during that healing time i was put on antibiotics (amox-clav) generic for augmentin so i thought the infection gone , but now that im having this pain 12 days after bone graft is somewhat scary. maybe im just paranoid

It's scary. I can put up with a partial denture for the rest of my life, but there is risks as well, like having teeth shifting.
What is the best diet to help the bone graft and best oral care after the surgery?
