In this video, I'm sharing my facade design process where I discuss how I incorporated (2) design principles: Contrast and Hierarchy. I also discuss sizing, proportions, and a lot more.
If you want to learn more about design principles, please watch my previous video where I discuss these design principles in more depth and show you how architects follow these principles to achieve order and balance in their architectural design.

hello mam these two videos are quite informative and kindly thanks for it mean as a civil engineering student it really help me with the design field. Kindly thanks. Will u do a short series on facade design from scratch? ( if no... then can u suggest or guide something which will improve in my skillsets). Have a gret day ahead.
Thank you for watching! Happy to help :) and yes will keep that in mind for future videos to do design from scratch
@malbeldesigns thanks for the feedback mam and really appreciate it.
Have a gret day.
Very good informations about designing. I would like to see facade design rules for adjoining apartment buildings. Like skinny, thin buildings. If you can share your opinions about that I will be glad to you.
Thank you for watching! I will try to put a video together for that soon.
Wowed, Subscribing for more. Thx.
Thank you :) more to come!

👏👏👏👍😘😘😘
Hey Malak! Thank you for the video. I got a question. How can we use shapes to add in new windows and stuff if we are doing the facade after the plan? How can we work on the shape hierarchy if the plan is already finished? What do you suggest in this case?
Hi thanks for watching! Ideally you would keep the facade design in mind while laying out your plans so they are designed simultaneously. However, if the plans are set and your facade is still not there, it’s a more challenging task. In that case you really need to study the facade and chose a few elements that you can highlight by adding frames, screens, or strips of different material to give it some depth.
@@malbeldesigns Thanks for the explanation! I really appreciate it! :)
Black window frame is little disturbing though
Humm in what sense? What would you suggest?
You are beautiful 😍. Had to say it.
Nice designs. I have a concern though.
In the second design, i feel like you cared less about the confort of the home by leaving the balcony completely opened to the sky. Which make the place unusable during raining days ...
I am graduating in civil engineering and I do not know anything about designs rules. I prioritize confort when i happen to design a house.
So i guess what i'm asking is if it is OK to not prioritize confort in every place of the building.
Because that would give me some freedom to explore more design ideas.
Thanks for watching :) I agree, thinking about comfort and function is crucial in design. When It usually rains, the temperature drops as well (in this case, Canada) and people avoid lounging in balconies in winter whether it’s shaded or not.. that was just my thought process. That’s why site context can change the whole design and needs to be taken into consideration.
You look like Sarah ali khan
Haha I don’t really see it but my indian friend told me that before
