Thanks for explaining things simple. and having a sense of humor along with it. I'm fixing to start my very first veggie and fruit seeds. I'm going into this blind. You are helping me, so thank you.
I love that you talk to and care for your plants, and i dont think your a liberal, i think your a nice, good, country farmer, who is awesome for making these videos to help others learn. 👍💯
A old timer told me when they are 3-6” tall in your planter to run a light speed fan over then couple hrs a day it causes cell damage in the stalk and it creates a stronger stalk thanks for the nice videos 👍
I was searching for the right video using the Jiffy greenhouse product and not only did I find the right video BUT I also found a great guy to follow!! Love your personality!! I also learned a lot! I love that you talk to your plants, and No, I won't call you a liberal! Who cares?! Thanks for your helpful tips!!
I know u did this video four years ago ! But my love for the garden just stared ! I made six raised bed from our old fence bords 😂 it works ! So excided this Summer! In Canada 🇨🇦
I was going to call you the Bob Ross of tomato growing. haha. Very good video. I took a little different approach to my tomatoes, but I think I'll still end up with a few of them. Good luck with your harvest later this year!
Definitely too good to go Walmart. Quick question though. Why can’t we just separate tomatoes maybe pull gently them out , including the roots. instead of cutting them back. growing both of them? I’m a total beginner so sorry if it’s a silly question.
Thank you for your brilliant videos! I am starting my first garden this year with my kids. I have a jiffy tray with 5 different seeds in. Some have sprouted and some have not (strawberries). Do I take the lid off for the sprouted ones or wait until the other seeds have sprouted first? The sprouted ones (lettuce) are still quite small. Everything is indoors as we are in Canada. Thank you! 💖
Love the video...The "Liberal" Gag was hilarious. ;) Doubt many of those types would be out on the farm doing the hard work you are doing. Great stuff. Subscribed.
They are looking good keep it up.I have my sugar peat white corn started its getting transplanted in the garden next weekend so are my Roma tomato. Its going to be fun seeing how your garden and mine do all season
I love the love you show your plants and garden, i raise a garden every year , start my plants in a hot bed i never transplant untill they get planted in the garden, i have great luck with my plants something to thank about try some non GMO seeds i did last year the non GMO corn and beans were much better as far as drought tolerent and fruit production
weve been doing hanging tomatoes the last year or so from 5 gallon buckets off the back porch upside down grown,, weve noticed a slightly better outcome doing this, but then again we only do like 10 plants,, just learning lol. but keep up the great work
Thank you for making these videos. Like you stated it's annoying how many people have to bring politics into everything, even growing a garden. Keep moving forward sir, you are doing an awesome job and helping so many of us out. We thank you for that.
Now with Tomato plants could I just get a really big plant pot and grow them full in that? I live in Condos and I do have lots of land which I'm thinking of using no one does anything behind the garage area, but if I wanted to try and grow something inside are these the best things to do it with?
I'm doing the same thing, unfortunately minnesota weather is not helping me out and we are in a blizzard right now and I get to go plow snow instead of working on my garden.
Btw, Exploring Alabama and you have much in common, cattle rancher, land n more. He has his dif too but you guys can chat tho. He likes to detect n such.plus mechanical stuff.
Most informative video yet. I've been trying to figure out what to do after they have started growing. I didn't want to buy heating mats and lamps. Question: Do you bring them in every night?
ya know...I"m not sure....however her's what we do...once we start getting leaves and the roots start showing on the outside of the pods....we simply place them in the ground and bury them up about 1 inch above the seed puck. Very very simple
B G Add water to the tray when pellets turn light brown! Just enough water to keep them moist, try not to over water them! Good luck in your gardening!
Just retired from the military. You know they don’t let us have gardens on base but, I just bought a home and I’m starting a big garden. Very informative I’m using peet pods and picked up a lot Brother. Thanks 🤙🏻
Ok question you ever heard of chiltepines is a small super hot pepper that only grows on the wild I want to attempt to grow them with this any suggestions?
I'm leaving after the 2nd time you said "If you're too good to go to Walmart". I live 8 miles from Walmart. I don't go to Target either, it's even farther.
yep....goodbye. You know what I'm referring too.....the "I hate Walmart" crowd....I guess you just answered the question as to where you fit in right? Learn to take a joke...your garden veggies will appreciate it....can't even joke now without Walmart haters getting offended. Personally I don't care if ya shop on the surface of Mars..lighten up..it's called humor
Yes it is...in a world where folks can tell you what everything cost......most nobody can tell you the value of something......something you care about......the value of those canned tomatoes in my pantry...good as gold.....and there for the sharing with people we love
I'm about to start growing some chili peppers using these jiffy things. First question is, should I also be planting more than 1 seed per puck with pepper seeds like you did with your flower seeds? Im only getting 40 seeds in the mail and i want to make out with as many plants as i can, so could I just put 1 seed in each disk successfully so I don't have to kill any, or is there an important reason why more than 1 seed should be planted with each disk? Second question. Once the sprouts are large enough to need transplanting, can I plant them in large pots with the appropriate soil/potting mix, or do they have to be planted in the ground? I have wayy too many fireants already making scores of nests in my backyard, so I just don't dare plant these in the ground. Getting covered and stung all to hell by those things isn't fun, so I'd prefer to use large pots on my back porch if thats possible.
I planted basil, cilantro, mint and peppers, should I follow the same steps in thinning those out too or is it different depending on the plant? Thanks in advance!
I am going to have a grow room inside my house. I just purchased a jiffy windowsill greenhouse to start my tomato plant. I only want one tomato plant. Do I just use one pod and one seed to grow one tomato plant or do I need more than one before I transplant it to the actual pot I am going to use to grow my actual tomato plant?
What's the scoop (if you don't mind me asking) with Home Depot not honoring the Veteran's discount? I have never experienced that. The new ID card for Veterans from the via is great maybe look into it. Similarly, my local HD and Lowe's share the same physical parking lot. I have had the worst experience at Lowe's.
Anyone worried about your political leanings because you like vegetable gardening is probably not the type of person you want watching your videos anyways. To heck with them. You do you! I love your videos!
Im conservative and thanks to you I have started my in door jiffy seedlings. I can care less where ur politics are. Thanks my fellow American. Im looking forward to seeing how the turn out. Subscrbed and liked .
Not much, but the selection of tomatoes in plant flats is very limited, usually the varieties popular commercially due to appearance and simultaneous ripening. Starting your own lets you try heritage varieties. Not as pretty or perfect looking, but superior in taste.

Thank you for being straight up about these things! new at this, and other videos are hard to follow or don't get to the point. thank you.
I started mine about the same time you did and using the same jiffy planters. I'm right there with you.

Fiskars used to make a tiny pair of pruning/deadheading scissors that were good for this; I have 2 pairs.
I use my 60 gallon pearl scale goldfish dump water to fill pellets. Hoping to get em to grow this year 🤞🏻

Do you do any raised bed gardens? They are becoming very popular here in Oklahoma.
great info too funny.
Did you add the fertilizer that came with it?
Do you bring in the baby leafs at night when it gets a little cooler? Or do you just cover them with the lid? Thanks
When do I take the top off the sprouted seedlings. And how much sunlight per day . Im Growing herbs .
awesome video! thank you
You don't have to keep adding water wait till the pods are light weight and almost dry before you add water again
When do you transplant them?
Thanks for sharing..I think my starts are getting leggy...well, do a redo..

Lots of tomatoes on the way..
Awesome video.
Do you have to keep them watered while germinating
water once thoroughly, let them sprout...then water about every 2-3 days. Only water once and use the cover prior to gemination
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer thank you I just brought one like yesterday and have the urge to water them

Thank you, for showing me the next steps to take with my plants. I love the Jiffy seed starter containers🌱🌿

Do you snip flowers to one per pod like the tomatoes?
When do you add fertiliser to plant stage or mix with water?
Can you reuse the little pots that did not start a seedling?
Do I see a sunburn?

you need to get some seed starting soil and put it in a cup...no use in wasting all that on one plant...I'd start 3 plants and keep the best one(s)
Thank you!
