I miss some of the bombast of the previous edition, but this one certainly has much more atmosphere to it. I can imagine this being better suited to play inside the halls of the castle, rather than the former’s sweeping shots of towers and battlements.
I agree, the other felt it held no secret how much it exude Evil lair energy. This here feels like a cluedo manor.
@@JonathanToolonie I am planning on using this one for the dinner and the other for any other time they go to the castle. I think it will put the musical themes in without ruining the posh air of the dinner.
@@JonathanToolonie I’ve got it all figured out. It was the Paladin, in the music room, with the sun sword!
I love that we have both now though. Means you can use this for exploring and the other for battles.
Something about this track gives me serious femme fatale energy. It reminds me just a bit of Catwoman's theme from Batman Returns.
Fingers crossed for a rework "He is the Ancient, He is the Land" or "Dancing With the Wolves." I can never have enough awesome Travis Savoie combat music for my sessions.

I love much more ambient this one is, ima use this next session for sure! (humbly coughs in a theme for the consorts)
This is gorgeous, and acts as a perfect companion piece to the original; one feels dark and grandiose and sweeping and the other mysterious and charming and just a little wicked. Castle Ravenloft is a big place, I look forward to using them both :) this would also be PERFECT for the "Dinner with Strahd' scene.
A fantastic theme, highlighting the many secrets and mysteries hidden in the castle. Not merely threatening (like your old theme implied) but also mysterious and ancient. Opulent and imperial to quote another franchise with a somewhat similar vibe

Amazing rework. I love the mischievious piano playing the theme in the middle. Can't wait to use it for our dinner with the devil session !!! Also lookkng forward for the next reworks and the new pieces !
I'm going to echo a lot of the sentiment here in saying that this is a perfect "Ravenloft Interior" theme. The themes, in tandem, remind me HEAVILY of Hyrule Castle from Breath of the Wild, with the dark Heroic exterior theme and the subtle mysterious interior theme. Love your work!

Hello, Travis. I've run campaign with your music as a main soundtrack. I rebooted CoS with OSR rules instead of 5e after 1 month pause in the middle of campaign. Thank you for your work of art. It's like a gift prior to the reboot.

So my character is Strahd's daughter and we made a session where she relived her memories of Ravenloft and this song just helped me so much get in that old version of her who was much more of a femme fatale

This is exquisite. Very sophisticated yet powerful sounding. This reminds me of the music from World of Warcraft for the Karazhan dungeon (which is excellent). Excellent piece! Have you considered a "peaceful" theme (such as this) and a "yeah, you've pissed Strahd off now" version?

Ah man, I was wishing for "he is the ancient he is the land" rework since I will present my players with strahd for the first time tomorrow, but this is simply to good for me to be sad
I'm assuming that will be one of the last ones as it's his most famous from the original soundtrack
So beautiful, yet so foreboding, welcoming yet chilling, delightful yet haunting. A lilting waltz, as the Count plays his vistors like keystrokes upon the organ.

As both reworked tracks are quite different from the originals I've decided I'll refer to them as "All Will Be Well" for Introduction and "Dinner with the Devil" for this one :D

Its nice dont get me wrong... But previous version was more grimm and therefor accurate for setting. Although it might be useful for less dangerous areas and situations. This one for Rahadin esqorting heroes to bedroom and older version for late night walk with a candle.

I like the use of harpsichord, & the way you worked in an organ. To me it feels a bit like an overture of what could follow as more simple motifs to use throughout some of the castle.0

@@RPGMusicMaker I’d picked up Bandcamp versions of the first version to use in Roll20. The introduction has been the theme for the last 50 sessions (we are near the end now!)
So only 2 will be reworked ?
He said about 4 will be remade with two new songs
