I'm likely overthinking this, but does anyone know if it matters how open/closed your hand is while squeezing?
The studies I reviewed didn’t mention that. They only mentioned the amount of pressure and time.

If I just clinch my hand ...I mean make a fist with full strength hold as much as possible then release and repeat.....will it work the same
No because the intensity of your grip shouldn’t be full strength.
