The scene when Vader was standing alone when Luke said that his father is truly dead is in my opinion the most impactflu and underrestimated scene in the movie. You can really see and feel how deeply Vader was hurt by this. This is the crucial scene that make Vader turn on the Emperor later because deep in his heart he wants his son to love him as a father and not the robotic monster he became.
I loved her reaction when Leia said I know. It's fun to watch non-Americans react to American classics regardless of genre. They always bring a unique perspective to them.
The funeral pyre hits differently after the prequels. The knowledge that at one time his death would have meant the mourning of so many, but now only one person in the galaxy would even bother to give him a funeral. Aside from R2, I don't think there is anyone Luke could have asked that would have agreed to help him do it.
Tell me about it. That funeral pyre scene is my favourite moment in the saga because of what it represents. At the end of the prequels, Anakin was immolated and left for dead by Obi-Wan, only to be scooped up by evil and turned into a monster. But at the end of the originals, Vader is cremated and watched over by his son, a family member who actually stays by his side to see his soul set free from the mechanical prison that was his suit. Star Wars really was about life, the life of Anakin Skywalker. The funeral pyre is the end of that life, and so the end of the story.
I've been watching these films since I was a child. Every time I watch this one, I come to realize how much Luke truly did save Anakin. Luke felt the good in him, good in him that Obi-Wan, a Jedi Master, didn't even feel. Padme knew he was still a good man, even after all the horrible things he did. Luke did something different than anyone else. Luke didn't turn his back on him when he kept choosing the Dark Side and continuously asking his father to "come with him." In his dying breaths, Luke was calling to his father for help, making Anakin remember why he joined the Dark Side in the first place. The literal proof of his and Padme's love for each other was dying in front of him calling for him, and that alone revived Anakin. Making Anakin remember what the most important thing to him was, love, and that's not only just worth fighting for, but it's worth dying for.

Anakin had as far as I understand it a higher raw force potential than Luke (and anyone else for that matter), but as cyborg Vader his potential has been Nerfed. Luke on the other hand augmented his already impressive potential inherited from his father with a greater wisdom and instinctive understanding (perhaps inherited from his mother) once trained. This is how he eventually became so powerful, more powerful than Vader ever was. Powerful enough that he could have destroyed the Emperor given time. Raw strength is important but not more important than knowing how and when to use it for maximum effect.
Indeed, losing both of his arms prevented Vader from ever being able to use Force lightning, and, as a result unable to tap into his full Dark Side potential.
palpatine had vaders suit made with explicit drawbacks for him, so that he would never powerful enough to take his place. for example, it was designed to keep him in constant pain.
41:35 what a good question, if only the directors of the sequels were able to answer that themselves 41:48 nothing or you'll be disappointed lol Consider the Star Wars saga ends here But hopefully the SW universe expands into multiple series and tv shows which are really excellent!
Jabba dropped the dancer (her name is Oola by the way) into the Rancor pit because she was trying to escape from her chains, not because she was a bad dancer
The idea for the next three movies was a new adventure with new main characters. But they didn't bother planning out an overall arc for the trilogy for some reason, so they're all over the place. They're VERY divisive among SW fans, so it'll be fun to see what you think of them!
That still shot of everyone standing in the cargo bay of the death star just before the emperor and Darth Vader come out of the ship is actually a painting. I always thought it was actual video until recently.
At 8yrs old, in 1983, I waited in a very very long line to see this movie on opening night. It was my favorite for many years, and it took me some time to accept the prequels, but by about 2003, I eventually did 😎
No matter how much you learn about something, every so often you find out new trivia. Apparently there was a reason why Solo was frozen in Carbonite in ESB. Originally Episode 4 - A New Hope, was simply called Star Wars. It hit the cinema as Star Wars. It was designed as a standalone matinee movie. It's immediate success demanded a sequel. They planned Empire Strikes Back, and Return Of The Jedi together, at least in terms of the big picture. For some reason Harrison Ford's contract was different from the other lead actors. They were contracted in for BOTH movies. He wasn't. He was also in the middle of the Indiana Jones heat too. So they didn't know if they could get Harrison Ford for Return Of The Jedi or not, so they had to work around that. Do they recast him? Do they just ignore the character? So the decision was made to freeze him. Han could always appear as a wall decoration, or as a sub plot or whatever. Obviously Harrison Ford DID return, so they had the whole rescue / defrost plotline to resolve that.
and key that director dint wanted of dint know how to handle the line when leia said him i love you, harrison though that if saying i love you too would be so cliche so he improvised saying i know xD
This is an amazing end to this trilogy. The sequels are not as amazing as many wanted them to be (except for episode 7), but they're still worth watching at least once. Basically, it takes places few decades after this episode, where another evil organization, formed from the remnants of the defeated Galactic Empire military forces that fled to other unknown star systems, is fighting to control the galaxy and how the resistance which is made up of former rebellion members tries to stop them.
Sith have no particular loyalty toward each other but it is all about power. Palpatine was likely aware of Vader's ambition but knew he won't turn against him until he remains strong.
Hi Biss, as always great reaction!!! so in 1983 when this came out. i was 9 years old . our family had visited Califonira in July. and we went to the Redwood forrest, i remember the tour guide discussing how the redwood forrest was the location for teh Moon of endor (ewok planet) that is why the treest are so tall and big. another cool anecdote. the dark deep low pitched song that plays when the emporor is on screen, the emporor's theme. i fyou go back to the very end of episode 1 for the parade and they play that happy music it is the emporor's theme played in its repsectve Major music key , faster tempo and 2 octaves higher. and one other thing is. in its very orginal form the ending had a slightly different song. not as many planets but the force ghost of anikin was in fact the guy /actor wh you see when luke takes the helmet off and is the more proper age ruclips.net/video/TvXm5HuR72k/видео.html
He didn't really give up the androids to Jabba. Just like the Chewbacca and princess got captured and Lando was a guard. Luke used the force to foresee everything and positioned his allies in key positions
Considering your reaction, I can accept the decision to include Hayden as the force ghost of Anakin in the end. Too bad you didn't get to hear the original "Yub Yub" Ewok ending song though.
33:48 "That's payback." Nope, that's love. That look she's giving him, adoration and love, with a sly grin. She's not saying "Hah, you do you like this payback, fool!" She's saying "I heard you before, I knew what you meant, and i mean it too." Shared bonding. Not payback.
FUN FACT: this movie is actually not the first time Carrie Fisher dressed as princess Leia in a gold bikini. While promoting the original movie, she hosted an episode of Saturday night live back in the 70s and they did a skit that was a parody of those old 1950s beach party films where she portrayed princess Leia and straight up wore a gold bikini. Some people have actually theorized that the bikini she wears in return of the Jedi is a secret reference to this episode, though it has never actually been confirmed.
The ewok who finds princess leia was played by warwick davis,a dwarf actor, who would go on to play "willow" the wizard, and the "leprechaun" in the hirror films.and he would appear in future""star wars" projects such as"phantom menace,"rouge one"solo."
I always enjoy watching reactions from the new generation of fans to the original trilogy. It brings back memories of my first time watching Star Wars: A New Hope and waiting four hours on a line that stretched 3+ city blocks. Glad you can watch them all comfy with your coffee and take some enjoyment from them. You are now a Jedi. I hope you continue your journey with the new content available - only then can you become a Master Jedi. May the Force Be With You, hope to see more.
Ok, have to go full nerd here, but the reason why the rebel fleet could not just enter hyperspace was probably because the imperial fleet had ships with gravity well generators on board. Those ships, also known as interdictor cruisers, can prevent any ship from entering hyperspace and even pull ships out of hyperspace. That type of ship can be seen in the star wars animated series star wars rebels. ;)
I think you will like the rest of them. Just because some other people don't like them doesn't mean you won't. Please please continue your reactions to the Star wars movies.
The next three movies are not terrible. Whether you like a movie or not is subjective. I love your reactions to movies I think you should continue watching the rest of the Star wars movies.

Star Wars Episode IV "A New hope" was titled that referring to Luke Skywalker who will bring balance to the Force and not Anakin as originally believed. Episode 6 titled "Return of the Jedi" meaning Anakins return from the Darkside.
Luke: Soon, I'll be dead and you with me. Emperor: Your faith in your friends is yours. Luke: Faith in yo mama. Emperor: What? Luke: I said, yo mama so fat, Obi Wan said, "That's no moon. That's yo mama" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Btw in my VHS of the Special edition of star wars, Vader doesn't yell no while throwing the emperor himself.. And the force ghost is Sebastian Shaw's unmasked Vader not teen Anakin.
Actually this was the intended finish to the movies . The next three movies expect fan fic quality additions of what happens to the Star Wars universe after a gap of time similar to the gap between 3 and 4. You might want to watch Solo. It is a good movie and you get back story on Han, Chewie and Lando.
There's a guy in Dublin, Ireland, called Nicxtar, he is SO funny. And when he presses a button, it whips its head out toward you and makes a laugh like the evil laughing alien at the beginning of Return of the Jedi! It scares the shit out of people lmao!
also, you see that he does fulfill the prophecy afterall in the end. remember how obiwansaid "it said you would bring balance and destroy the sith" he did just that inthe very end. also. a paralel as padme died, she said "there is still good in him" luke saw it too and every time vader says "obi wan has taught you well: luke is thinking oh he started it, but the grand master of 800 years of jedi triaing personally tutored me , that is why i am so damgood
To answer your question:The sequel trilogy is mainly about a new generation of heroes (and villains). Luke, Leia and Han are in it, but they are not the main characters in the story. Although one or more Skywalker kids play a major role, I think is safe to say without spoiling anything. The sequels are controversial with the fans though, especially the second movie upset a lot of fans. Then again, the prequels were not exactly a slam dunk either, yet lots of people seem to love them anyway. You’ll have to see for yourself, I guess.
"Okay, so the next movies are about what exactly?" Why, they're about how Luke and co have to rebuild the Republic and Jedi Order amidst the power vacuum created by the deaths of Palpatine and Jabba, all while touching upon the deepest mysteries of the Force! At least.... that was the original plan
Wow, that film has been changed from Return of the Jedi (the third film). There are some changes. It is now called episode VI. R2D2 was the original flash drive, they are much much smaller now. /some humour/ He was the original, very “chonky” flash drive. /laughs/ It is so funny the way you say that word Biss. Excellent reaction. Brilliant review, you are really smart. Hoping you are right well.
I understand why Lucas felt he could improve on his movies with the advancements in technology, but if we went back and autotuned and quantized all the Beatles’ music NOBODY would consider it an improvement. IMO some of the charm of the original trilogy is the way some of the FX “struggle” compared to the modern CGI age. I still love the story and don’t HATE the changes, but if the original versions were available I’d definitely purchase those over the altered versions. Of course, I’m an “old head”, lol. I love that term. It’s hilarious how younger people act as if it’s some kind of curse to have more experience and perspective, but I know I was EXACTLY the same when I was their age. Glass houses and all that.
There was supposed to be a much longer fight that was cut from the movie between Luke and Boba Fett. One of the jet pack props was made with a lightsaber slash going down it. This also would explain why it malfunctioned when Han hit it. It was also found in the BOBF that he had been drugged before this incident by Bib Fortuna and was not on his A game. It's one of the reasons why Fett straight up executes him without saying a word at the end of Mando season 2.
28:48 It's so curious, while surveying this planet, that the _Empire_ didn't become aware of the Ewoks. I mean _obviously,_ they're not aware of them, or they would've _accounted_ for them. But instead, the Ewoks ended up being the deciding _factor,_ here.
I really, *really* suggest you watch the Obi-Wan television show. It's one of the best shows, and it expands Obi-Wan's and Vader's stories in ways Episodes IV, V, and VI just can't. Most of the series you can skip, but Obi-Wan is all but a must-watch.

"Grossest character (jaba) they could invent & went all in on it" - basically! "Solo popsicle" 😃 That look at the Leia cosplay 'suggestion' - LoL 😃
"oh 3pio great golden robot" LoL 😃 The Ewoks were kinda cute! 🧸 R2D2 is the secret MVP! You're adorkable! 💚
40:54 funny how it is Han who has more of reaction to the news of Leia being Luke's sister than Leia did.
Raw strength is important but not more important than knowing how and when to use it for maximum effect.
leia was also powerful but like yoda supportive force use
Indeed, losing both of his arms prevented Vader from ever being able to use Force lightning, and, as a result unable to tap into his full Dark Side potential.
According to George Lucas, Luke and Leia both have equal force potential to Anakin
@@kaitosevski3881 I was not aware of that. Got a link to the source?
palpatine had vaders suit made with explicit drawbacks for him, so that he would never powerful enough to take his place. for example, it was designed to keep him in constant pain.
33:28 "pew pew! That's the sound (the Walker firing) makes." It's also the sound you make if you bop an Ewok in the nose 20:30.
41:35 what a good question, if only the directors of the sequels were able to answer that themselves
41:48 nothing or you'll be disappointed lol
Consider the Star Wars saga ends here
But hopefully the SW universe expands into multiple series and tv shows which are really excellent!
Don't listen to such haters
Jabba dropped the dancer (her name is Oola by the way) into the Rancor pit because she was trying to escape from her chains, not because she was a bad dancer
Thank you for the 6 reactions in this saga. I was enjoy so much.
40:05 Well.....
Great reaction, Miss Biss. Onward to the Sequel Trilogy!
NO
The idea for the next three movies was a new adventure with new main characters. But they didn't bother planning out an overall arc for the trilogy for some reason, so they're all over the place. They're VERY divisive among SW fans, so it'll be fun to see what you think of them!
Bisscute: "All the furries." Me: I'm a mature adult. I'm a mature adult. I'm a mature adult.
😆
That still shot of everyone standing in the cargo bay of the death star just before the emperor and Darth Vader come out of the ship is actually a painting. I always thought it was actual video until recently.
If I knew then what I know now.....all those Star Wars action figures/toys I had as a kid would be worth $$$$$$'s! Who knew?
So Anakin Skywalker brought balance to the force and saved the galaxy, at the end.
... just like the prophecy foretold.
From certain point of view.
The "ewok" that steals the speeder bike, was played by kenny baker, aslo plays R2+D2.
Hayden Christensen as the revised Force ghost.... the cherry on top to this films ending.
I still miss Yub Nub though.
'Is the balance back?'
Yes
The Clone Wars is what I'd recommend to watch next
Sith have no particular loyalty toward each other but it is all about power. Palpatine was likely aware of Vader's ambition but knew he won't turn against him until he remains strong.
Fantastic reaction, as always. I enjoyed the film MORE this time round with your wonderful reactions. You're seriously one of the best in the game.
"You've failed, your Highness. I am a Jedi...like my father before me."
Hi Biss,
as always great reaction!!!
so in 1983 when this came out. i was 9 years old . our family had visited Califonira in July. and we went to the Redwood forrest, i remember the tour guide discussing how the redwood forrest was the location for teh Moon of endor (ewok planet) that is why the treest are so tall and big.
another cool anecdote. the dark deep low pitched song that plays when the emporor is on screen, the emporor's theme.
i fyou go back to the very end of episode 1 for the parade and they play that happy music
it is the emporor's theme played in its repsectve Major music key , faster tempo and 2 octaves higher.
and one other thing is. in its very orginal form the ending had a slightly different song. not as many planets but the force ghost of anikin was in fact the guy /actor wh you see when luke takes the helmet off and is the more proper age
ruclips.net/video/TvXm5HuR72k/видео.html
He didn't really give up the androids to Jabba. Just like the Chewbacca and princess got captured and Lando was a guard. Luke used the force to foresee everything and positioned his allies in key positions
Considering your reaction, I can accept the decision to include Hayden as the force ghost of Anakin in the end. Too bad you didn't get to hear the original "Yub Yub" Ewok ending song though.
It’s Yub Nub, but yeah, I miss it at the end.
33:48 "That's payback."
Nope, that's love.
That look she's giving him, adoration and love, with a sly grin.
She's not saying "Hah, you do you like this payback, fool!"
She's saying "I heard you before, I knew what you meant, and i mean it too."
Shared bonding.
Not payback.
Ohh the old light saber jump scare😂
16:21 yes, the Force granted him insight. It happens anytime it’s convenient for the plot! Ha ha!
That type of ship can be seen in the star wars animated series star wars rebels. ;)
The ewok that finds princess Leia was played by Warwick Davis.who would later play"willow""leprechaun"some other Star wars characters.
I think you will like the rest of them. Just because some other people don't like them doesn't mean you won't. Please please continue your reactions to the Star wars movies.
Thanks for this wonderful SW journey....so far. Great reaction. Also your eyeshadow( I think its called that) is always on point. Love it.
My favorite theory is that R2-D2 is really Darth Plaugeus and has gone through these movies working on his plan to kill Sidius for killing him.
I hope you’re planning on watching the shows too! They add so much more depth and information to the overall plot .
if you like the little bears here are 2 films related to these characters:
Ewoks: The Battle for Endor
Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure
The next three movies are not terrible. Whether you like a movie or not is subjective. I love your reactions to movies I think you should continue watching the rest of the Star wars movies.
6:38 Han and Leia are my parents.
You are so funny, love it.
Ah..this makes me yearn for a cup of tea and a biscuit!
I love how you adore R2. And your facial expression when Obi One, Yoda and Annikin appeared at end was priceless. Please watch 7 8 9, they are good movies.😊
That's yo mama"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fun fact: The brown blanket that Yoda has is Qui-Gon's cloak.
im sure many of us would like to see you cosplay in that costume.
Btw in my VHS of the Special edition of star wars, Vader doesn't yell no while throwing the emperor himself.. And the force ghost is Sebastian Shaw's unmasked Vader not teen Anakin.
41:34 - "OK, so the next movies are about what?" - We keep asking ourselves the same question. Even after watching them.
He made this robot that he could carry around and it looks like he's carrying his girlfriend in his arms or something, but it has an evil clown face. And when he presses a button, it whips its head out toward you and makes a laugh like the evil laughing alien at the beginning of Return of the Jedi!
It scares the shit out of people lmao!
also, you see that he does fulfill the prophecy afterall in the end. remember how obiwansaid "it said you would bring balance and destroy the sith" he did just that inthe very end.
also. a paralel
as padme died, she said "there is still good in him"
luke saw it too
and every time vader says "obi wan has taught you well:
luke is thinking
oh he started it, but the grand master of 800 years of jedi triaing personally tutored me , that is why i am so damgood
Hayden at the end works so much better when you watch it one thru six like u did.
The Ewoks and Chewbacca were modeled after George Lucas's dog, its name was Indiana, he named Indiana Jones after the dog as well.
Glad to see you again :*
"Okay, so the next movies are about what exactly?"
Why, they're about how Luke and co have to rebuild the Republic and Jedi Order amidst the power vacuum created by the deaths of Palpatine and Jabba, all while touching upon the deepest mysteries of the Force!
At least.... that was the original plan
I thought it was always supposed to be about the grandchildren though..
@@kaygee2121 That too
Thank you for the great reaction! And the first time I watched the final scene I also teared up. ~ Vals
Kenny baker(R2-D2)played the ewoks that steals the speeder bike.
Warwick davis played wicket, the ewok who finds orincess leia, went on to play "willow, the wizard and to horror fans the "leprechaun ".
Wow, that film has been changed from Return of the Jedi (the third film). There are some changes. It is now called episode VI.
R2D2 was the original flash drive, they are much much smaller now. /some humour/
He was the original, very “chonky” flash drive.
Fun fact about episode VI, the title refers to the return and redemption of a Jedi long thought dead - Anakin Skywalker - Return of the Jedi
The force awakens is actually a great movie. And the Han Solo movie is a fun movie to watch.
16:36 - "But most important of all..." CUT! 🙂
Thanks for watching
11:55 - LOL!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"It seems very finished"
Yes it is, the movies end at episode 6. ;)
Correct.
Wrong. There are still 3 more movies after RotJ.
@@Mecha82Correct. Episodes 7 and 8 are great!
The Mandalorian series happens 5 yrs after Return of the Jedi. Season 3 comes out March 1st if you wanna binge watch the first two in time
28:48 It's so curious, while surveying this planet, that the _Empire_ didn't become aware of the Ewoks. I mean _obviously,_ they're not aware of them, or they would've _accounted_ for them. But instead, the Ewoks ended up being the deciding _factor,_ here.
29:34 _"Everything_ that has transpired has done so according to _my design."_
A design that did not account for the _Ewoks._
I really, *really* suggest you watch the Obi-Wan television show. It's one of the best shows, and it expands Obi-Wan's and Vader's stories in ways Episodes IV, V, and VI just can't. Most of the series you can skip, but Obi-Wan is all but a must-watch.
The "ewok" who finds leia, isplayed by dwaarf actor warwick davis, who later on plays the wizard "willow" and the"leprechaun".
@BissFlix- I want my phone ringtone to be you singing, "Da na nah-nah, na nah-nah, na nah-nah." :)
thank you, I was really looking forward to this reaction!
25:51
"So impatient.. hm.. so impulsive your mind are, walking the dark path down you will" as Yoda should have said. 😅
