The "dogs" are called AT-ATs: All Terrain Armored Transports. You've now met Princess Leia, wearing the same dress she is in A New Hope. (Obviously, they had to do her face with CGI, since Carrie Fisher was an old woman when this movie was made, instead of 19, as she was when filming Chapter 4: A New Hope.) They had to throw R2 & 3PO cameos in, since they're onboard Leia's ship in A New Hope.
Her: I'm here for the story. Me: I'm here for her reactions. Her innocent-style reaction to an action packed movie is like watching a little sister enjoy my favorite movie for the first time. Makes me want to find whoever spoiled the biggest plot twist in movie history and beat him up behind the school.
Cassian is not a backstabber. He knew that panicked rebel was going to give them away and they'd end up captured or dead, so he made the difficult choice and did what had to be done. Sometimes you have to get your hands dirty in a revolution.
The "Jedi from the Clone Wars" Leia's adopted father was talking about was indeed Obi-Wan. When talking about someone he "trusted with his own life" to deliver the Death Star plans to Kenobi he was referring to Leia (who is 19 years old by this point). You'll see more of this storyline in Ep. IV.
They didn't have the plans yet so Leia's mission originally was to go Tatooine to get Obi-Wan and bring him back to Bail and Mon Mothma. This was even before the Emperor disbanded the Galactic Senate.
I remember seeing this in theaters and when Vader showed up at the end I said to the person I was with "This just turned into a f*cking horror movie!" That scene never gets old.
When I watched Rogue One in the theater, I ran home and watched A New Hope, because the switch was that instantaneous. I'm so excited you are on a Star Wars journey. You will be busy for a long, long time in a galaxy far, far away!!
In retrospect it kinda explains how "over it" he is when they finally catch the ship in Episode IV. He obviously used his lightsaber to take out the door but screw it let the stormtroopers deal with all these guys.
That’s the magic of this film, how it perfectly contextualizes and frames the launch of this franchise. Making the decision not to watch ep iv simply based on what she expects in terms of cinematographic technology is insane? Which brings up another point, for biscute the focus has become how technology ages, when, I feel the whole point of technology is to drive a fantastic story forward that would be less without it, all the while forgetting that you’re watching it.
Enjoyed your reaction. It was very interesting to see someone with no exposure to the original trilogy watching this. You are right that it has a somewhat different feel to the ones you've seen. The Original Trilogy and Prequel Trilogy lean more into "Pulp Adventure" type storytelling (which is fun), while this one leans more into "spy/war action" movies.
One of the problems with watching in chronological order, like this, is it gives away mysteries and plot twists in the original trilogy. That said, they're still fun and have their own charm this way. Now, try to keep in mind that those of us who've been around long enough started with Ep 4, and all the info we didn't have yet.
This is my favorite movie in all of the Star Wars franchise. I have heard some complain that there isn't much about force users, but the Jedi were thought to be gone by now, and there are only two Sith Lords, so this is about the normal people fighing for their lives against The Empire. Rogue One has great acting, a really good script with comedy, drama, and tragedy... but above all, it has hope! **(Edited for spelling error)
"Your Highness. The transmissions we received. What is it that they've sent us?" "Hope." RIP Carrie Fisher 😢 Fun Fact: Alan Tudyk plays the droid K-2SO through motion capture technology. Tudyk previously played the robot character Sonny in I, Robot (2004). Red Gold Leaders Fact: Gareth Edwards and his creative team discovered some old film canisters while rummaging around the Lucasfilm warehouses. When he asked what they were, an employee said they were old Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) footage. The discovery led to the inclusion of unused material featuring Red Leader (Drewe Henley) and Gold Leader (Angus MacInnes) in this movie. Attention To Detail Fact: Darth Vader's appearance in this film is meticulously patterned after his look in the original Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977). While Vader's chest plate is uncovered in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Star Wars: Episode VI - Return Of The Jedi (1983), his costume initially had his Sith robes draped over his shield, as well as red lenses in the eye holes of the mask. Considering this film takes place mere days before the original film, the costume designers recreated Vader's look down to the last detail. This movie was made with love by actual Star Wars fans, unlike the other Disney made Star Wars movies.
Exactly. I almost didn't bother to see this one at the theater, but was so glad I did. I was actually shocked at how good RO was, compared to the shite that the other Disney movies were. I was going to say maybe we should tell Bisscute not to bother watching them, but her reacting to them might be great, certainly interesting to see.

One thing to keep in mind when watching the original trilogy, other than the very old movie making tech compared to the newer movies, is that you will have a lot more context going into Episode IV. Episode IV was an introduction into the Star Wars universe for the rest of us. Of course, the rest of us had more context going into Episodes 1-3 and Rogue One. For example, there were many characters in Rogue One who were familiar to those of us watching in the release order. Hope you still enjoy the originals though, cheers!
Another thing to keep in mind is that watching the prequels first lessens the effect of all the surprise reveals, of Jedi capabilities and the power of the Force as well as character backgrounds, and will diminish the impact that the original movies had. Especially when you aren't forced to wait several years between movies.
"It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet." And thus this film was born 39 years after A New Hope's Opening Crawl. Love Rogue One it captures the practical look of the original trilogy but adds a dark and brutal tone describe as a war movie by the director. This movie also features my favourite space battle with the Battle Of Scarif. Fun details but the cockpit shots of Gold squadron (in the Y Wing bombers) and Red Squadron (in the X Wings) was actually old unused footage of the Gold and Red Squadron pilots from A New Hope the female pilot who says "Look at the size of that thing" was not featured in A New Hope so they added her to this movie which is really cool. Greig Fraser is the cinematographer for this film who also worked on The Batman and Dune two films with amazing cinematography as well. Can't recall if he worked on the Star Wars shows but both Mandalorina and more so Andor both have that very gritty used look and feel to them just like Rogue One. Characters: The person who gave the plans to Princess Leia at the end was Raymus Antilles. Raymus Antilles should up at the end of of the Revenge of the Sith, Antilles was onboard the Tantive IV a Alderaan Cruiser owned by her step father Bail Organa who was the guy who rescued to Yoda and should up a few times throughout the Prequals ending with him and his wife holding Baby Leia as they're new child. Antilles is close with the Organa family so it makes sense that he would be onboard this same ship with 19 year old Leia. Bail Organa shows up in this film who we saw in Revenge of the Sith like I mentioned above. Mon Mothma the woman in the white robe would've shown up in Revenge of the Sith but her scene was removed, maybe she's in the background of a scene but at the time of The Clone Wars she was a Republic Senator who openly opposed Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's policies. We also have a few background characters who will appear in A New Hope which is why they're in this film so everything's all greatly connected really well. Saw Gerrera the main who released Jyn Erso as a kid is actually from The Clone Wars TV show an Onderon Rebel who was backed by the Republic in fighting the CIS even trained by Anakin Skywalker, Obi Wan, Clone Trooper Captain Rex, and Ahsoka Tano. He's the first Animated Character to show up in Live Action who wasn't planned on being introduced to the big screen. Grand Moff Tarkin the character who may look a little uncanny is a famous character from A New Hope who was played by the late Peter Cushing who past away in 1994. As the character past away they created a CGI version of him using an actor as a stand in while covering his face with the CGI recreation of Peter Cushings face. This is the same with Princess Leia as well at the end of the film both character are pretty much fake but it does the job. We saw Moff Tarkin in Revage of the Sith standing beside Vader and the Emperor overlooking the incomplete Death Star. And of course a bunch of side characters who you'll see more of later in A New Hope and other films just too many to mention. Ships: So if you recall back to Revenge of the Sith we got to see the Venator-Class Star Destroyer a warship used by the Republic throughout the film. Well in this film you are introduced to the iconic Imperial-Class Star Destroyer in many ways the successor to the Venator-Class Star Destroyer. There's also the Victory-Class a ship that was introduced at the end of the Clone Wars that looked much more like the later Imperial-Class Star Destroyer but has never shown up in canon yet. The Hammerhead Corvette that rams into the Imperial Star Destroyer is heavily inspired by the Hammerhead-class cruiser which first appeared in the amazing Knights of the Old Republic video game in 2002 which was set around 3900 years before the events of the original movies used by the Republic. Pretty interesting that there using a design based on a 4000 year old ship but hey i love Knights of the Old Republic is one of my favourite games and i adore the Old Republic setting so I'm not complaining. If the design still works then I can see them using the design for 4000 years just introducing new models and ships. We also have the MC75 Cruiser used by The Mon Calamari admiral Raddus who led the assault on Scarif. Shuttle SW-0608 which we saw Rogue One use to land on Scarif along with their squadron of rebellion solders. Delta-class T-3c Shuttle which was used by Krennic and his Deathtrooper. This is an older model than the iconic Lambda-class shuttle which we see in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. TIE Striker It was specifically designed by a research group on Scarif to protect high-security Imperial bases in an atmosphere. Pretty sure it cannot travel into space which makes it very similar to a ship used by the rebels in Empire Strikes Back. The X-Wing flown by the Rebels such as Red and Blue Squadron are one of the most iconic Star Wars ships for reasons you'll see in the Original films. The X-Wing was the successor to the ARC-170 which we saw the clones fly in Revenge of the Sith and the Z-95 Headhunter a ship we see in other media such as comics and games from the 1990s and 2000s that was the Successor to the Republic ARC 170 but the precursor to the X-Wing. This ship also had a Republic version flown by Clones showing up in the later seasons of The Clone Wars TV series but not in the films. The Tie-Fighter is another iconic ship and one of my favourites flown by the Empire it's in many ways the precursor to the Eta-2 Actis-class interceptor flown by Anakin and Obi Wan in the ship of Revenge of the Sith. If you look at the windows of Anakin's fighter you can see the same window design that is used on the Tie Fighter linking them together while the Eta-2 had small panels on both sides similar to the Tie Fighters large panels. Pretty sure both ships were linked to the same company which is why they share many of the same designs. The Y-Wings flown by Gold Squadron are Republic Era ships used by the Republic at the time of the Clone Wars. The Rebels ripped the outer armour shell off the body to increase it's speed. The Y-Wing doesn't show up in the films but does show up in The Clone Wars TV show. There's more ships as well but there's too many to list so there's are the main one's you'll get to know in later films minus the Hammerhead and MC75 two ships created for Rogue One and have only appeared in media after 2016. Stormtroopers: So this is you're Introduction to Stormtroopers who are humanoid recruits made up of people from across the Galaxy. Sometime after the Clone Wars the Clones were phrased out in favour for normal enlisted soldiers. But the early Stormtroopers were clones once the Empire was formed the Clone Troopers became Stormtroopers it's just enlisted began pretty early so over the 19 since Revenge of the Sith most Stormtroopers are now just enlisted humans. There's also Army Troopers but we rarely see them in live action media even though the Army Troopers make up the backbone of the Empire. They wear more Militant gear instead of white armour which is only worn by Stormtroopers and look much more like a typical Army force while the Stormtroopers are this elite group of soldiers. We also see Coastal defender stormtrooper on Scarif also known as Shoretroopers who you'll find on more tropical planets introduced in this movie. We also see tank troopers who are riding in the new Imperial combat assault tank introduced yet again in this movie both the trooper design and the tank. These are all just normal Stormtroopers outfitted for different terrain and roles. The Black Armoured Stormtroopers are called Death Troopers who were an elite variant of the Galactic Empire's stormtroopers designed for stealth, espionage and lethality. These guys were actually the first image we saw of the movie as they were teased before the trailer came out. There very cool and stood around 6′5″ tall. Land Vehicles: We also see a turbo tank the successor to the Juggernaut tank from Revenge of the Sith used by the Republic. This tank also shows up in the Clone Wars and some video games. That interesting ship you see Rogue One in is called a U Wing created for this movie and is still used in alot of Star Wars media. Overall Rogue One has created the most Disney content in terms of Vehicles and ships along with droids and weapons seconded by Mandalorian. Stuff introduced in Rogue One can be seen in Video games, Comic's, Books, and other TV shows like Mandalorian and Star Wars Rebels. Overall thoughts: Overall I adore this film and it's prequal series Andor which for me has been the best Star Wars show to date 2nded by Mandalorian and Clone Wars. Andor is very different to you're more mainstream Star Wars so it's not for everyone and I know alot of people who just prefer Mandalorian to Andor and I love that how Star Wars can now have a range of shows for everyone from drama's to westerns to war films etc. i do think the 2nd half makes this film but I myself don't mind the built up etc. I do wish we got to know more about this characters but like I said that's what Andor atm is doing set 5 years before Rogue One it will follow these 5 years and showcase how everything came together and then end right from Rogue One starts just how Rogue One ends right before A New Hope.
I think you are using the word "precursor" instead of "successor". Other than that, your comment is very informative. Please don't try to correct "precursor", because your comment may be deleted! I've seen the RUclips platform do strange things like that to some of my comments... Have a happy 2023! All the best to you!
9:52 "I want to see someone I recognize" If you had taken my advice to not watch this until after #4 you WOULD recognize that person you were looking at! (General Tarkin...as a digital recreation) Also the female leader in white is another recreation from #6. Also some of the pilots. And as you know now, later in this film you get a glimpse of R2D2 and C3PO. And of course the final scene would mean a lot more when you saw a recreated Carrie Fisher.
Bisscute, I just started watching some of your movie reactions, and I might like them even better than your music reactions. (which I love!) I can't wait to see you react to Episodes 4-6. Imo 4-6 are by far the best SW movies, and my favorite movies of all time. Imagine being 11 years old in 1977, when SW episode 4 (A New Hope) came out. That was me! Trust me, trust me, trust me, there was NOTHING like SW before this. The special effects in sci-fi movies were CRAP before SW. Add a magical, timeless story, and you have movies that are still loved and considered ICONIC almost 50 years later! The hype is REAL!! I hope you love these next 3 movies! (I think you will) And Bisscute, may the force be with you...always
Hey there my fellow SW Freak!! I was 14 in 77. When it all started with a mind blowing trailer and a simple teaser poster: all black with a mylar or foil/silver starfield that said-- "A boy. A girl. A galaxy. STAR WARS"
George Lucas originally wanted the red squadron to be blue squadron in episode 4 but the the cameras used at the time did not work with that color scheme, so they were changed to red. This movie explains why not a single member of Blue squadron was present in the battle of Yavin.
If you've never seen Episode 4 - 5 and 6, specially part 4, you didn't realise what good job they did, specially in the end of this movie. I really like this movie! And i like your reaction, but i always like your reactions! 😉
@@user-wr9ej6xe4j That tune is so iconic and regularly played in general everyday life that everyone knows it! Plus it was played (softly) several times in episode III as Anakin succumbed to the dark side and transitioned to become Vader.
Senator Organa was talking about summoning Obi-wan for help, and Mon Mothma says to send someone he trusts. That's the "she" he then refers to (Princess Leia). It will be clearer on viewing Episode 4... Great reaction as always...this one might have some of the best writing of the whole series, it's very well done in every way, not only as a standalone film, but one that fits perfectly with the original film (Episode 4). Eagerly awaiting your reaction to the original trilogy...
Obi-wan helped HER FATHER(techincally both, but she was talking about her adoptive father) during the Clone Wars. She wasn't even born during The Clone Wars. Actually, technically, he helped both her father and her mother(though not necessarily her adoptive mother) in those days.
the more the years go by, the more i think of Galen Erso as one of the series best characters. He never lost his hope as weve seen has become a common weakness for almost everyone else
. . . and yet he's in an awful film ~ yammer yammer (only kidding!) *-* Everything that Gilroy has presented is something to behold ~ any pacing issues that are mentioned are purely perceived as irrelevant from the certain viewpoint of a Director Lynch enthusiast( of course ~ the two do not mix ) cheers. to the chronological dedication , B
They recently showed the ‘Andor´ streaming series on Disney plus, focusing on Cassian’s back story, set 5 years before Rogue One. It spans one year. Season 2 will span 4 years and it lead up to Rogue One. They are currently filming it.
This is a nicely done film, the ending of which sits literally just before episode 4 (the original films). I wouldn't be overly concerned about special effects quality. They are very well done for the time and what you will be seeing has been touched up wince the theatrical release (nearly impossible to see a digital version of the theatrical release). No computer-work just practical effects, stop-motion, that sort of thing. Great films, though.
40:22 “it’s a karabast, alright.” It is not a karabast but I don’t blame you for knowing that xD “Karabast” is a Star Wars curse word like “shit” or “fuck” but of course we can’t curse or the rating will go up. So they made their own curse words to use in place of them usually. It’s just really funny to see someone say “oh it’s a karabast.” Because in my head it’s like hearing someone hear the word “fuck” for the first time after almost getting hit by a car, and thinking cars are called fucks xD
Great reaction!!! This is the best of the Disney Star Wars movies (which isn't difficult really). I think when it was made the decision was not to make it be too much like the other, main trilogy, Star Wars movies. The other thing I would say is that Episodes 4, 5, and 6 are the best of the Star Wars films because, even though they don't have the CGI, they have the best story arcs and the best acting (there no mention of his a character dislikes sand anywhere). In the end there are many movies with amazing CGI that are just crap because apart from the amazing visual effects there is nothing. You have to take into account that the special effects in A New Hope were only possible because the director, George Lucas, basically set up his own company, Industrial Light & Magic, to make the special effects because no one else was doing this back then, and it became the best industry standard for this until CGI and computerized graphics came around in the early 2000s. There is a bit of disconuity between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back (I won't tell you what it is because it might spoil this for you), but let's just say that George Lucas never expected the first Star Wars film to be a success, so much so he didn't even attend the premiere instead deciding to go on holiday to Hawaii instead. So there wasn't a plan for how to proceed the story past the first film. It will be interesting to see what you make of the older movies, but I think you'll love them. I think they have agreed better than most sci-fi movies or that time and I think you're in for a treat.
The senator said he would send someone to fetch OBI-WAN (who helped during the clone wars). He stated that the person he's sending could be trusted with his life. He trusts his adopted daughter with his life.
It's so interesting watching this journey. You're getting the story in a logical order, but there are things you don't know that are brought in because they were already known from movies made earlier. The Death Star, for example, is such a well known part of Star Wars because of its impact in Episode 4, which was, of course, the first exposure people had to Star Wars. There are lots of things like this, such as how Episode 4 explains what Jedi are, or little references and Easter eggs. You're right that this movie feels a little less like Star Wars that you've seen. But that's what a lot of people like about it. It feels a little more real. My favorite Star Wars story is Andor, which just started this year. It tells Cassian's story in a similar way and I love how different it feels. But you don't need to watch that yet, I want you to see the main stories first so you can maybe appreciate all the things Andor does so well.
Good one. Keep up the great content. A Star Wars reaction always catches my attention. I'm happy to have a look everytime. Best of luck with the channel!
Great movie, well done with your reactions Bisscute. This movie will give you more understanding for what is happening in Ep IV "A New Hope", lots of backstory that was not there for us that watched it back in the 1977 theaters. Even though the next movies are older special effects(some being invented just for Star Wars), I think you will enjoy the story.
Love your reactions!! If you re-watch the scene with the senator when he says he trusts her with his life, just prior to that he mentions someone else. That person served him in the clone wars.
I'm happy to see u enjoying the Star Wars saga. And I'm looking forward to seeing u react to my first childhood Star Wars movie!! ( i was 14 ) And yes, even though u will see older special effects from the 1970's, that was before any computer graphics (like Jar-Jar and other creatures) u will see a few scenes that were enhanced years later when George Lucas had CGI technology to add a tiny bit more "visual magic" to this old gem.
50:20 It's kind of heartwarming, really Like my dad always used to say, "Killing your father, as I killed mine before me, is an Audette family tradition!"
I got that same fear but what is real funny as mentioned in another comment I worked as a Navy F/A-18 pilot which means at times I was well over 5,000 feet in the air. I was also not much of a fan of the water either and yet I joined the navy :P got to love how things can turn out sometimes
And know that you have seen episode 3 you'll have a whole lot of fun in a few scenes that happen in episode 5. Anyone that has seen all the movies knows exactly what I'm talking about. Those scenes that just make you scream no no no no
I must of watched 100 Rogue one reactions and its epic 8n the final 5 mins when the red light sabre appears and the panic and pass over of the blueprint into star wars 4 a new hope and you see it all click into place in their reaction. I'm 52 and love star wars from day dot. Rogue one and andor imo are stark warnings masquerading as entertainment. Pay Close attention. Great reaction Peace ✌️
I feel you made a good choice I think you will enjoy Solo a star wars story as well whenever you get to it. Whispers..(it should be next) but whenever is fine. One of my favorite actresses is in it. Emilia Clarke who played Khaleesi aka Daenerys Targaryen in the original Game of Thrones.
Outside of the original trilogy this one is the most satisfying. Not because it is good, but the way the end blends into Episode IV is really satisfying for one who started this epic on Episode IV.
@FinnMcRiangabra They're all to aware in writing and pacing that we know generally how the movie ends. But instead of dealing with the forgone conclusion that they will steal and deliver the plans no matter what by slowing down and developing the characters, they're violently propelled from action to action with no real actual or natural progression in relationships. Jyn goes from yelling at Cassian to quoting him passionately and Cassian goes from cold blooded killer to organizing a suicide squad for her because he chose not to kill the one person he was specifically ordered to kill, which was her father. And he had good reasons for not killing him, I'm sure Bor gullet was used, despite him making people go crazy, to learn the truth. Yet nothing comes of that truth gathering scene. When the X-Wings attacked Jyn's fathers position, we're told that they can't be called off because they're already committed. Nonsense. No shots were fired yet, and there's apparently instantaneous two way interstellar communications in Star Wars and with that squadron, so there's plenty of time to call them off. Even if there wasn't, there's nothing to prevent one of the X-Wings from hovering over the pad for a few seconds and sweeping the pad clear of enemies while his squad mates covered him. The end battle scenes went from "Cool visuals, I guess," to, "Seriously?" The inclusion of Red and Gold Leaders, obviously limited to what they could cull from cut angles meaning the almost the same exact lines from A New Hope was jarring. Then there's the out of place Mos Eisley jerks somehow being on Jedha, being jerks on Jedha because they have to cram some random cameo in the movie, just for them to leave Jedha immediately after being jerks and going straight to Tattoine, without freaking out over almost being killed by the Death Star. Pretty much everyone died in an explosion immediately after serving their one purpose in the movie, which was to flip a switch. And some of those switches were outside and exposed to the elements for no reason. And the antenna was out of alignment for no reason, and somehow transmitted to everyone yet just the rebel flagship, which had Leia's ship in it for some reason. And let's not forget that C-3PO and R2-D2 were in the Yavin hangar when everyone left yet on Leia's ship when it got boarded not much longer later. Also, the battle scenes was ridiculous. The rebels had the element of surprise, yet they didn't immediately start shooting everything on sight upon exiting lightspeed. There was no general plan and at most minimal coordination. Orders were given sporadically, instead of rapid fire. There was no shooting between the capital ships and minimal firing from the capital ships. There was no bombing or bombardment of the Imperial structure surrounding the shield opening. There were no squadrons of fighters firing volleys of torpedoes, just random fighters almost casually flying about and shooting at the occasional target. There were a total of 3 star destroyers in orbit around Scarif and yet not one deployed any troops to reinforce the surface. Instead, they just let the surface fend for itself and eventually Tarkin destroyed the Empire's own base, despite only some rebels being on the surface and despite the rebels already getting the plans. And fuck the rest of the data stored there, right? That's not important anymore for some reason. Vader's scene at the end was supposed to be orgasmicilly amazing, yet it's a let down and shows him to be incompetent. He dramatically took his time and turned off his life support and almost casually walked down the hall killing fools, instead of being mister badass sith and using the Force to brush everyone to the side and at least trying to Force grab the plans or using the Force to at least try stopping Leia's ship. Then he's standing in the vacuum of space like his suit is rated for that. The opening crawl in A New Hope mentioned spies, yet there weren't really spies. Just some people sneaking into a base. Sure, that could constitute spying, but barely at that. Vader mentioned that the data was beamed to her ship; sure, the satellite dish transmitted the data, but not to her ship. If they're going to have Vader eage against the machine and her ship be attached to the flagship for some reason, have Vader mow down the rebel scum and get the plans, only to have Leias ship leave and the communication officer on the flagship transmit/beam the data to her. That can be arranged since the data was transmitted to the flagship and copied to the case but not necessarily deleted from the ships computer. The one of Leia's officers copies the data to the disc and then deleted the data from the her ships computer. Or better yet, have a spy team on the surface. Then Leia's ship arrives to take on supplies for a "mercy mission" (as vaguely mentioned in A New Hope). The spies bribe a bunch of people (Leia mentioning the price they paid), and beam the data up to her ship. Vader happens to be in the area and detects that somehow and then chases after her, which leads directly into A New Hope
Supposedly in the TV show Andor they actually make the stormtrooper corps something to fear like they were intended to be instead of the jokes they are depicted as in the movies. If you do watch that show at some point don't get too attached to any characters you don't see in the movies, they might not survive the series and end up running into stormtroopers.
I love how you get all of your emotions going with these reactions. Looking forward to the next one. Once you finish episode 9 you have to react to The Mandalorian series. It is awesome! That's where you will find Baby Yoda...
I've been watching a few of your reactions and really enjoying them. I do like your accent in English! 😀Rogue One is one of my favorite Star Wars movies, and I also love the prequel TV series to it - Andor. I hope you get round to reacting to that at some point. 🙂
love your reactions!, and I'd love to see you watch episode four with your hair in space buns! to help with your question, the senator who is leia's father said he was sending for someone who fought in the clone wars, and that he was a great help, and that he would send someone he trusted to deliver the message to him, and that he trusted her with his life. so leia is the person he's sending to deliver the message, it just so happens she will also have the deathstar plans.
52:46 They say it oddly, but they say the will need to send for the Jedi (Obi-Wan) but that they will need someone they can trust to send for him. The Princess.
This movie has the unique quality of being one of the slowest Star Wars films yet still one of the best. Each time I watch it it edges closer to being my favourite.
The reason Cassian didn’t snipe Krennic is because he was never given orders to kill him. He was given orders to kill Galen but he wasn’t sure whether he was going to shoot in the first place.
Awesome reactions :) now you will need to watch Star Wars Andor lol, which is just nominated for Best TV Drama series alongside House of the Dragon. Looking forward to your Episode 4 reactions next, cheers and happy holidays! oh yes consider watching Solo movie too which plays out before A New Hope
.... And Solo plays out years before Rogue One, when Han is a younger man. While the events of Rogue One play out, Han Solo is just days away from getting involved with the Rebellion in Ep. IV A New Hope.
@@andymiller6661 broken record. Somebody is so pathetic and lonely, they post dozens of messages on a reaction, shitting on a popular movie. Hoping they look like an edgelord
Now just imagine if you had watched the movies in the proper order as intended (release order) you would have recognized Gran Moff Tarkin, Princess Leia, the secret Rebel base on Yavin 4, the Death Star and how the final scene ties directly into the start of A New Hope
I think Chronological Order is good for the most part, it has its own upsides and downsides. *Except* for Rogue One, which should definitely be watched after Episodes 4-6, and I voted that way in the poll. Unfortunately, watching Rogue One first won out.
@@TheLouisvilleJedi For me Vader in Rogue One was a long awaited villain return. I don't think you would really get that emotional response to a modern Vader in all his evil glory if you have not seen episodes 4-6, but each to their own.
The face on Grand Moff Tarkin was completely computer generated. The actor who played him (Peter Cushing), who you will see in episode 4 (which was the first one made), had passed away years before Rogue One was made.
When he said he trusted him from the clone wars and trusted her with his life he was talking about Obie One, and "she" as you saw, was princess Leia. And ignore what people say about your viewing order there is only one surprise that is ruined, but with Pop culture it is a surprise everyone knows. Even people who have never watched star wars at all. The chronological order lets you grow with the characters. Release order leaves a lot of questions or unanswered details that the chronological order addresses. Love the reactions and thank you!
I've developed a huge liking to your channel and your reactions for movies. I grew up watching a lot of movies as a child. If you liked this movie you should check out the movie Dune - 2021 and Pitch Black - 2000
I really like how they left it open to interoperation as to whether Cassian and Jyn kissed. Half my friends thought "this could be your only chance." My other friends thought "don't start something you can't finish".
I actually really loved that there wasn’t any sudden kinda forced kiss just because every movie always has to have one. That hug and hand holding was more touching and loving than any kiss could have ever been.
Senator organa was saying talking about obi wan kenobi he said he'll use her as in Leia to get ahold of him...this is 21 years after episode 3 Luke and Leia are grown and the empire has been ruling the galaxy for over 20 years...also andor isn't a backstabber he's a rebel in war all sides do despicable things hence why when they all volunteered to help get the plans he said they've all done terrible things for the rebellion they can't stop now

"Are you losing your damn-ass mind?" Saw Gerrera actually started losing his mind when his sister was killed in the Clone Wars.
This and Andor is the best Star Wars universe since the first 3 imo.
" This is Biss Leader" i actually laughed out loud, too funny.
The "dogs" are called AT-ATs: All Terrain Armored Transports.
You've now met Princess Leia, wearing the same dress she is in A New Hope. (Obviously, they had to do her face with CGI, since Carrie Fisher was an old woman when this movie was made, instead of 19, as she was when filming Chapter 4: A New Hope.)
They had to throw R2 & 3PO cameos in, since they're onboard Leia's ship in A New Hope.
Someone spoiled her on that? Mother effer.

That vader scene is one of the best scenes in the entire series.
In retrospect it kinda explains how "over it" he is when they finally catch the ship in Episode IV. He obviously used his lightsaber to take out the door but screw it let the stormtroopers deal with all these guys.

@Monkeynut358 You must be fun at parties.
“P30”
Nailed it.
"leans more into" a truly good movie.
@Tragic Deyz this is one of the worst star wars movie mediocre at best
In other words it brought war into Star Wars
Chopper is also featured in one scene too. He's basically the R2 of the TV show Star Wars rebels.

Yet still a bad movie.

Fun Fact: Alan Tudyk plays the droid K-2SO through motion capture technology.
Alan Tudyk also played the character named Wash (the ship's pilot) in the sci-fi series, Firefly, and the follow-up movie, Serenity.

Exactly. I almost didn't bother to see this one at the theater, but was so glad I did. I was actually shocked at how good RO was, compared to the shite that the other Disney movies were.
@@MikePerigo I agree except the story is about Anakin Skywalker so they need to be watch 1 to 6.
Characters:
The person who gave the plans to Princess Leia at the end was Raymus Antilles.
Ships:
So if you recall back to Revenge of the Sith we got to see the Venator-Class Star Destroyer a warship used by the Republic throughout the film.
Stormtroopers:
So this is you're Introduction to Stormtroopers who are humanoid recruits made up of people from across the Galaxy.
Land Vehicles:
We also see a turbo tank the successor to the Juggernaut tank from Revenge of the Sith used by the Republic.
Overall thoughts:
Overall I adore this film and it's prequal series Andor which for me has been the best Star Wars show to date 2nded by Mandalorian and Clone Wars.

George Lucas originally wanted the red squadron to be blue squadron in episode 4 but the the cameras used at the time did not work with that color scheme, so they were changed to red. This movie explains why not a single member of Blue squadron was present in the battle of Yavin.

Obi-wan helped HER FATHER(techincally both, but she was talking about her adoptive father) during the Clone Wars. She wasn't even born during The Clone Wars. Actually, technically, he helped both her father and her mother(though not necessarily her adoptive mother) in those days.

It is not a karabast but I don’t blame you for knowing that xD
“Karabast” is a Star Wars curse word like “shit” or “fuck” but of course we can’t curse or the rating will go up. So they made their own curse words to use in place of them usually.
It’s just really funny to see someone say “oh it’s a karabast.” Because in my head it’s like hearing someone hear the word “fuck” for the first time after almost getting hit by a car, and thinking cars are called fucks xD

I got you, no worries
You should like K2SO. He is voiced by Alan Tudyck. Our dear Hoban "Wash" Washburn of Firefly!
Good one. Keep up the great content. A Star Wars reaction always catches my attention. I'm happy to have a look everytime. Best of luck with the channel!
He shot that rebel to protect Jyn she was standing right where it most likely would have been thrown had the guy gotten the chance.
That person served him in the clone wars.
perfect placement to watch rogue 1 before 4,5,6
The original temples in episode 4 was Tikal in Guatemala; here they have added extra
I'm happy to see u enjoying the Star Wars saga. And I'm looking forward to seeing u react to my first childhood Star Wars movie!! ( i was 14 )
And yes, even though u will see older special effects from the 1970's, that was before any computer graphics (like Jar-Jar and other creatures) u will see a few scenes that were enhanced years later when George Lucas had CGI technology to add a tiny bit more "visual magic" to this old gem.
Those scenes that just make you scream no no no no
Now you got me watching the Star Wars series again!!! Seriously, thank you!!!!
Chronological is the best way in my opinion that's how I started
Cassian andor is a significant figure in founding the Rebel alliance
I must of watched 100 Rogue one reactions and its epic 8n the final 5 mins when the red light sabre appears and the panic and pass over of the blueprint into star wars 4 a new hope and you see it all click into place in their reaction. I'm 52 and love star wars from day dot. Rogue one and andor imo are stark warnings masquerading as entertainment. Pay Close attention. Great reaction Peace ✌️
Even so many people don't like Rogue One but I'm the who likes it. Thanks for the reaction.
It's a terrible movie that doesn't blend well.
@@andymiller6661 Good argument bro. You have made some cogent points that I will have to think about.
In other words: try again because your first attempt is an utter fail.
And he had good reasons for not killing him, I'm sure
Bor gullet was used, despite him making people go crazy, to learn the truth.
@@FinnMcRiangabra Did my 2nd attempt succeed?
I am loving your journey. Its kind of the wrong way round but its also a right way round. LOVING this journey.
51:40 Scene, Epic. That face, Epic!
Yes biss you are correct that is senator bail organa princess Leia's adoptive father. Played by (Hollywood legend Jimmy smits)
I love how you get all of your emotions going with these reactions. Looking forward to the next one. Once you finish episode 9 you have to react to The Mandalorian series. It is awesome! That's where you will find Baby Yoda...
Biss, your reactions are great as is your laugh. :)
I've been watching a few of your reactions and really enjoying them. I do like your accent in English! 😀Rogue One is one of my favorite Star Wars movies, and I also love the prequel TV series to it - Andor. I hope you get round to reacting to that at some point. 🙂
No, this isn't the planet where Obi-Wan and Anikin fought. That was Mustufar, this was Eadu.
love your reactions!, and I'd love to see you watch episode four with your hair in space buns! to help with your question, the senator who is leia's father said he was sending for someone who fought in the clone wars, and that he was a great help, and that he would send someone he trusted to deliver the message to him, and that he trusted her with his life. so leia is the person he's sending to deliver the message, it just so happens she will also have the deathstar plans.
Great reaction, you’re awesome 😎
1,2,3 ,ROGUE ONE,4, 5,6.
OBI WAN KENOBI series , when get a chance.
Great video, keep it up 👍
Thank you so much !!
@@BissFlix , welcome. Stay awesome 😎
IV "A New Hope" picks up exactly where this one left off, you'll see and it will make sense :)
this is my favorite star wars movie
Nice reaction. Can't wait for your reaction of the original trilogy.
52:46 They say it oddly, but they say the will need to send for the Jedi (Obi-Wan) but that they will need someone they can trust to send for him. The Princess.
53:03 yes Rogue one is the first chapter of the story.
From the 456123 timeline
41:33 AT-AT! All Terrain Armored Transport
This movie has the unique quality of being one of the slowest Star Wars films yet still one of the best.
Each time I watch it it edges closer to being my favourite.
Yet still bad.
The first trilogy was released in 1977 episodes 4/5/6 and the prequel trilogy in 1999 to 2005 with episodes 1/2/3 rogue one was released in 2016
31:30 Yes, it's called Mustafar
Andor just finished up it’s first season. After you watch Episode IV you will see far more importance in this movie.
Be sure to watch Andor after you finish Episodes IV, V, and VI; it's really great!
This is the very best of all Star Wars movies. Just as "Andor" is the best series.
Yet still a bad movie.
@@andymiller6661 broken record. Somebody is so pathetic and lonely, they post dozens of messages on a reaction, shitting on a popular movie. Hoping they look like an edgelord
You really should put this in its place in your Star Wars playlist.
The very end of this movie fits right into the very beginning of episode four
Indeed, thanks for watching
This was the first Star Wars movie that I’ve loved since empire strikes back
Now just imagine if you had watched the movies in the proper order as intended (release order) you would have recognized Gran Moff Tarkin, Princess Leia, the secret Rebel base on Yavin 4, the Death Star and how the final scene ties directly into the start of A New Hope
Her fans voted for this order and I think it is a fine order, it makes sense to watch IV next and that's what she's doing.
I agree Jeff.
It's a stupid order. It removes all lot of emotion/nostalgia from the movie. I would never recommend watching this 4th to anyone I cared about.
"I would trust my life with her." "Her? The daughter?...No." YES! you were right!
We need more star wars movies like these like rogue one
Why do we need more bad movies?
This was an amazing reaction!
The face on Grand Moff Tarkin was completely computer generated. The actor who played him (Peter Cushing), who you will see in episode 4 (which was the first one made), had passed away years before Rogue One was made.
Also, the face of Princess Leia was also CGI, given that Carrie Fisher had recently passed away.
*Obi-Wan
That crystal she wore around her neck is the same type of crystal that would power a lightsaber
Probably the best of all the New Movies. The Director was the director was the best as well. Its his work on the Godzilla is where he Shunes....😊😊
Yet still bad
I've developed a huge liking to your channel and your reactions for movies. I grew up watching a lot of movies as a child. If you liked this movie you should check out the movie Dune - 2021 and Pitch Black - 2000
I really like how they left it open to interoperation as to whether Cassian and Jyn kissed.
Half my friends thought "this could be your only chance." My other friends thought "don't start something you can't finish".
I actually really loved that there wasn’t any sudden kinda forced kiss just because every movie always has to have one. That hug and hand holding was more touching and loving than any kiss could have ever been.
"In the Force, you will always find me".....that was gangster shit...
28:12 GET this lady in command of a combat battallion. I want to see her style of coordinated troop maneuvers.
"My innocence is being tested, guys."
Translation: My pose of innocence is being exposed.
Senator organa was saying talking about obi wan kenobi he said he'll use her as in Leia to get ahold of him...this is 21 years after episode 3 Luke and Leia are grown and the empire has been ruling the galaxy for over 20 years...also andor isn't a backstabber he's a rebel in war all sides do despicable things hence why when they all volunteered to help get the plans he said they've all done terrible things for the rebellion they can't stop now
SPACE BUNS!!!! I love me some space buns, hahaha
