- The first original song for the 'Ghost Town' band from the West Coast of Auckland, NZ.
The song was written by Ed Taylor ( guitar ), and features vocalists Mandy Patmore and Hannah Neville. The violinist is the amazing Nick Jones.
Big thanks to Danny H. ( recording engineer ), Mia Jenkins and Em Taylor for the photos and Jaime Patmore for the video footage.
Video made by Ed Taylor.
Epic Whanau.. beautifully written and performed love K town ❤
That was really good - it will take everyone back in thought. (My neighbour used to work at the mill).
Of the past - I loved riding home in the steam train from college (Dunedin). I guess we lived a semi-socialist life, some of which is still obvious: Ambulance, Fire, Health ,Welfare and Superannuation. Power generation was by government.
Mid 80's government "took the reins off" and left things to industry ("they knew best").. leaky homes with untreated timber, no reserve power generation, the tolls on the Auck harbour bridge removed for votes - though we knew it could pay for maintenance and replacement, infrastructure ignored. The list goes on !!! Even the government acknowledges it to have been a grave mistake, yet couldn't back up..
Our boat has been leaking, but some were too greedy to maintain it.
Oh - cr*p.. what a rant. (have to blame the song.. 🤐)
Great song very well performed. I lived there 1992/1993 and enjoyed my time there.
