ABANDONED Chevy WILL IT RUN After 30 Years? - (bare engine!)

- This 1965 Chevrolet C10 has been off the road since 1989, and been stripped down quite a bit. And of course, I bought it without seeing it. Let's see if I can get it running in one night and do something with it. Oh, and skeeters.

Great video, Again! You're really nailing down that older "Roadkill" vibe, without any of the corporate sponsorship feeling.
Best one yet.
Thank you appreciate that
@@ViceGripGarage Better than RED GREEN TOO but no duct tape or fires, boo hoo!!!! was there any work done prior to your arrival and those tires/rimes look fairly recent ?
That and he is actually mechanically inclined.
What is roadkill?
I'm addicted to this channel. Battling some life issues and this just makes my day. Thank you Vice Grip!
You're absolutely welcome, best of luck to ya
You're on my prayer list, e jato.
Thanks Derek. Love the channel. I also admire your discipline of never cursing. One of the first things I noticed. I have a problem with that and it’s encouraging to see a man who is capable in these times of living life without falling to that temptation.
Well, hardly ever....
I’m cursing at my girlfriend as I’m typing this. Dang it!!
Yep. Me too. We all know this dude, love this dude and may be this dude. I’ve watched way too many episodes over the passed 48 hours.
hope things have improved in the last 11 months, stopping by to tell ya you're awesome
I always associate 30 years ago with 1970 something. I've been doing that for about 20 years now
Ditto. Then I remember my age back then and what my age is now. Funny how the facts are changed by perception. This is surely a sign of age. :-)
Yup. Know that one...
1980 something nowadays
Yeah, 30 years ago was actually 50 years ago
Right? I was working on "classic 70s cars in the late 90s. Nobody thinks about 90s cars as classic today.
My shop teacher recommended you cause I told him I wanna be able to walk up to any truck and get it going and you are absolutely insane I'd love to learn how you do what you do.
That is awesome!
That s the spirit kiddo!
Try...try....try.....get pissed off.....keep trying.
Keep It Simple Silly. That's the way. On cars without emissions crap you need three things. As long you have those, it'll run.

You're not only a fantastic mechanic and a genius comic, you're an even better dad. Love how you had time to give your boy a hug while struggling to get that old heap on the trailer. Kudos to you...

Man, those straight sixes are awesome! never die! and sounds awesome when you have a more straight downpipe exhaust...
With the reaction to the tools being on top of the barrel the truck knocked over, I believe you've completely captured everything that people outside of the midwest can't understand about people from the midwest. This one made my favorite list.
Haha 🤣👍
Great episode. My dad still pulls a camper with his '63 Chevy ton dually with the 6 banger. 292 I think? Not sure, but those old straight sixes are something else
I have been watching your new stuff and now rolling back to the older stuff. I must say you pretty much have this down to a rhythm. I definitely like the fact that you have the room to save this stuff and the patience to get them going. Love all the material and hope you keep it coming!

Old school Chevy. I had two of those.. 292 version and a 250 version. They just never quit.. a little oil, and some gas... they freaking run. 30 years sitting, rolls up the ramp on its own. Holy cow.

I learn so much about carbonated motors by watching this Chanel, great job my guy!!
I think you mean carbureted. But yeah, he's definitely old school and I love it. Reminds me of when I started messing around on cars. They are so much easier to work on and more reliable too.
Can't beat old skool motors.. Dizzy, coil, sparkulators leads.. Yep yep yep it's a runner 😁
Even though your tech and editing has come so far you have managed to maintain the same feel! Way to go. That is a rare talent!
I’ve really enjoyed your channel. You set a great example of a hard working Dad and family man. You definitely deserve all your success. This video is one of my favorites because I’m a big fan of the old farm trucks being brought back to life. I’ve saved a few myself through the years. It’s rewarding to put them back in service. I’m a Jeep nut so when I saw that old Gladiator in the background, I was hoping you could do a future video of going back and saving that one too. I’d love to come up and drag her back home.
It's amazing how much room is under the hood. Easy to work on for sure. I think I will get me an old truck tired of the sensors and electronic BS.
You know you're a Motorhead when you're sitting on the other side of the video screen saying come on baby fire fire...
I do the exact same thing, I'm like come on suck that has into the carb
Or when you try to sweet talk your truck into going "Just 20 more miles. Just 20 more!!!!" Lol
i remember saying bring the thunder lol

I find these videos of you bringing these Gems back from the dead far more entertaining than anything Hollywood has put out in the last 10 years. Fantastic video! You never cease to amaze me in your funny, resilient and very informative way of getting these old beasts to run. I'm sure you've been told this millions of times, but you are an inspiring and great teacher. We had a truck just like this when i was a teenager, think it had a cracked block and only 1st gear but we couldnt kill it, just kept on going.
my neighbor had one that burnt a valve. He took the head off to take the valve out and slapped it back together missing one entirely. ... ironically, that was 1989. Things changed so fast. Dang thats awesome
