Back in my day (in the stone age, mid 1970's) I drank a lot of frat house beer, but never joined one. At one rush party, saw a Delta Tau Delta flag in another frat. Then visited Delta Tau Delta's rush, and saw they stole a ZBT or such item. Mentioned at Delta "That reminds me, I saw your frat's flag at another frat. Which one?" they asked. Couldn't remember exactly, maybe Sigma Nu... Seems they were now plotting a recovery mission... :-)
Hi! Thank you for all your videos about cuse, I've watched all of them like twice they help so much! I'm going to syracuse this fall as a freshman and joining Army ROTC. I'm so pumped, but I was just wondering how much commitment it requires and what an average week for a cadet looks like? Also if you have any tips for what I should be doing in the summer to prepare from the PT test or if I should be contacting anyone to introduce myself. Thank you!
Hey Rebecca! Out of all your college your first year, I'd say there is about a 20% commitment, that just involves ROTC. It keeps you busy but at the end of the day you are a student and that's what they want! In regards to fitness, make sure to be able to do push ups, sit ups, and running. Those are the key things to be able to do! And as for contacting anyone, I don't believe so, just look forward to beginning college!
Did you have any connections before you rushed and were there and will there be pre rush events the weeks before rush? I know it would be useful to have connections before formal rush but are they absolutely necessary to secure a bid at a house? Definitely considering rushing Phi Delt and love your videos.
+Sammy Haines actually didn't know anyone when I rushed so connections aren't needed at all! I'm sure if you know someone then they wouldn't hurt! I also didn't attend pre rush events but some houses do have events
Is it weird to rush a fraternity alone? I have a fraternity that I am interested in but none of my friends are. Is this weird? As a fraternity do you view someone differently for showing up alone? I and rushing the same ones as my friends but the one I'm interested in that none of them are is my top choice right now.
+Mike Lavridge no way! When you rush you typically won't know anyone so many guys do it alone! I wouldn't even worry about your friends rushing or not rushing or if they get into a different house!
If you don't mind answering this question did you rush alone? Did you receive more than one bid? In the same situation where some houses I want to rush my friends aren't interested in.
+Tom Weller alone? What do you mean? And yes I did receive more than one bid. Also you rush a house that interests you! Not what interests your friends! You'll meet so many people!
+Dan Hoang well if you get a bid and choose another fraternity, it kinda is like you saying "hey I'm glad you like me but I don't want to be in your house"
I know rush week past for sororities but hopefully I will be a transfer student my sophomore year. Would you know anything about rushing for sororities? How do you sign up for rush?
I’m a freshman at Cuse. We need a 2018-2019 updated version for the boys.

Haha that would be crazy! There isn't much theft between houses now.. (Or at least not that I know of)
what's the difference between rushing and pledging a fraternity? i'm interested in possibly being in one, but i'm not really 100% sure
+Nasir Young rushing is to get a bid to a specific house, pledging is when you choose your exact house and you pledge to get initiated

Mike Lavridge it's weird that you're so worried about people's opinions
beautiful. Thanks. :)
I heard that if you get a bid from a fraternity and don't accept it, you're not allowed back in that house. Is this true?
+Dan Hoang well if you get a bid and choose another fraternity, it kinda is like you saying "hey I'm glad you like me but I don't want to be in your house"
Is this the same for sororities?
Did you only rush Phi delta theta? how did you find out about events during rush week?
+Dan Hoang I rushed all fraternities but choose Phi Delta Theta, and there were event sign ups
Do you know when the rush process for fraternities starts this year?
+Evan Maxx I believe it's a couple weeks into the semester
I know rush week past for sororities but hopefully I will be a transfer student my sophomore year. Would you know anything about rushing for sororities? How do you sign up for rush?
Rushing as a sophomore is the exact same progress as a freshman!
Pretty sure you've mentioned this before so I'm sorry for asking but what fraternity are you a part of?
Haha no problem at all! I'm part of Phi Delta Theta
Is it worth getting season tickets to the football/ basketball games?
As a freshman, I would most definitely recommend it!
Good to know, thanks!
Is there a way to be in a fraternity but not live in a house?
+Big Wing Productions you don't have to live in the house to be in a fraternity! Hope that helps
How long was your pledging process?
+Dan Hoang it depends mostly on the house for how long the process is
Cool Beard
It's a work in progress, don't expect much!
Lmao
You should check out mcsportzhawk he literally just graduated from cuse
+PRXNCEJOKER is he a vlogger??

+Matthew Silverman pledge*
