I was just thinking the same thing. This is a really performant use of the 404. Most ppl play one track and lay FX on the top. I feel like this was a great intersection of playing and filtering. Very entertaining to follow. Well done. 10/10 would nod my head back and forth.

@@shawnjemal8422 I got the drum loop on one pad and then I'm playing the sample chops live like stabs. For the vocal parts I matched the tempo to the drums in ableton, then loaded them in the 404 and triggered them on beat.

no i needed the other effects for transitions and stuff so taking the comp on and off would have been too jarring. Now I got a second SP, on OG, that i use to to compress the signal from the first one so i can still do FX while also having consistent compression.

Thanks for watching. I did this one on a portable tascam recorder. Zoom also makes some nice little field recorders you can plug into.

All the beats in this video i've done most of the editing in Ableton and then brought them over to the 404. I made most of these while riding the metro to work and then adapted them to be played on the SP. thanks for asking!
