Right!? thats what i was hoping for when i chose the spot, right on the edge of the clouds. Also the sun breaks through right at the end of the video and starts to kinda blur everything out which was also cool bit of nature magic.
your beatvids are always dope, especially the inside out episodes and in this set i found a sample that i also used: blammobeatz.bandcamp.com/track/shniderline
yo thanks for watching and for checking that inside out episode, i really appreciate that. And i love that sample, the smooth 70's bass and that pingpong flute thing, tasty beat man.
I want to ask. Did you record these tracks exclusively on the sp404, or did you use other equipment to prepare the samples? As far as I know, the sp404 is pretty limited for sample editing.
These are all beats i made in ableton and then arranged for performance on the 404. I did some minor editing on the 404. While it might be fround on by the 404 in the box purists, I initially got it as a portable way that I could perform my beats. That being said, the only limits I think the 404 has that I used here are the ability to warp the tempo of samples and the ability to create perfect tempo synched loops (although maybe you can in sequencer mode).
@@CruelBuddhist I recently bought a 404sx. And to be honest, I was disappointed. I wanted to have a mobile instrument that I could play on and create finished tracks. But, alas, it seems that you still cannot do without a computer. There are no elementary features in 404sx. This is upsetting. Even if there was Pitch, it would be good.
@@magadan4626Yea I can understand that, but i feel like its got a steep learning curve. Check out youtube videos and maybe peep the facebook SP-404 Freaks group and maybe you'll find that its got more potential than you think. I've been playing with it for a few years and feel like I still have a tenuous grasp of it. There is a big community of people that produce finished tracks entirely on the 404 so its totally possible. A good place to start might be to search 'dibia$e sp404 masterclass' on here and check that out. Also there are a couple ways to pitch on it. One is the Voice FX control, which is not always so clear with instrumental samples. But I believe there is also a chromatic control in the MFX list (maybe just on the 404 og but i think its on the SX too) that you can use to pitch samples. But yea, undertanding resampling and sequencing i think goes a long way to seeing it as a production station. Again though my focus is performing live beats and it does that alright for me, something to run my live sets from without having to haul a computer or a big MPC around with me.
ooo that mist at 3:09 goes great with the music. love it.
