Always fascinating to visit WW2 airfields, very little changes over the years in the surrounding area. And that was a wonderful story you told. My half-sister is a 'war baby', she reckons she was conceived in similar circumstances, i.e. at an army base dance, by some guy who hooked up with our Mum! But he was never to be seen again... 😒
