I got a 100% stock Carbon VMax and that came in 2015 with aluminium scoobs. The seat was the regular VMax seat while the bike you shown has an aftermarket seat and the engine is nominal 200hp of which there might be 185 at the wheel. It sounds like that bike is de-cated and obviously the owner has done quite some works on it. I am riding it in all weather conditions except for salty streets. A stunning bike that is heavily misunderstood by most. Despite the styling, this bike is a very solid vehicle, during first 50.000 km there was only oil changes, tires and fuel, one set of break pads and of course I renew the brake fluid every second year. No issues at all. Even the fuel capacity is ok for driving in Central Europe - though plus 5 liters would be nice lol. The VMax is a rare bike as such in my area, esp. the 1700 Vmax, and among these, the carbon seems to be an exotic version. Not surprisingly given the massive price upgrade to the "normal" version. Most VMaxers wanted to modify their bikes anyway so they took the basic model to individualize from there. Me I choose the carbon since it was clear that this bike is the climax of my 40+ years as a biker (I don't have a car). In like max 10 years from now, that bike will be to heavy for me so I will go back to my old 1200 VMax till the day I die lol
Nice to see a dealership that looks after all bikers needs and isn't just bothered about selling new bikes. What a great walk round. Moto Guzzi is definitely a bike I should have experienced years ago. Loving my V7 MkIII, 200 miles on a tank before the light comes on. Great video Freddie as always.
The V-Max is stunning, but apart from the price, the tiny patrol tank put people off. The Moto Guzzi Stone is a really nice bike. My pick here would be the XSR700. The XSR 125 is an XSR 155 in Thailand. The XSR900 is growing on me. TCX X-Blends! The best boot. The R1150 GS at the end is a fine bike. I did 91,000 miles on an R1100GS. Excellent video, Freddie.
its always a good day when you upload freddie. my brother and i both ride bikes so whenever we catch up we always talk about your videos. often after hes finished school and i’ve finished work. we just sit and chat about each bike you show, often pausing the video and chatting for minutes at a time about something as simple as those carbon fibre mudguards.

Yamaha and Kawasaki seem to be on the game so much more than the other two Japanese brands- Suzuki has basically fallen asleep and keeps regurgitating the K1 engine in anything it can find! Loved your enthusiasm as you walked around Freddie ! 👍
Suzuki are survivors and know how to make a profit from a relatively narrow range of products. They haven't really been cutting-edge since the first GSX-Rs. Even in their automobile division they've always made just a few relative to other manufacturers, but within that, some great vehicles. The K1 is a good, well developed engine and saving development costs of a new engine is a big deal. Change for change's sake is not necessarily progress.
This is what i hear a lot. Even just 10 years ago, a friend of mine visited a dealer, was asked if he had a full motorbike license by the salesman, to which my friend replied “not yet”… and my friend was asked to leave and only come back when he had his license!😆
Really nice place they've got there, I'm glad you pointed out the XSR700 - i had the 155 version in Indonesia for 2 months and personally i think they're exceptional bikes and great beginner bikes for anyone. Cracking video
Wow Freddie, what a great bunch of bikes! The Vmax is one of the most badass hooligan cruiser bikes of all time. That SE Bonneville is the reverse color scheme of my non SE Bonneville. I love the pipes on that one. That XSR looks like one I almost tried out, but they didnt have in the shop the day I tried my Bonnie. Those V7s were on my list as well. Had the right one in the right price/condition been available it would have been mine. Shaft ease of maintenance. What a fun day!
From the Ipswich/Suffolk area, owned a Honda VT750RS in HRC colours lovely bike just not quite good enough for 2up. Had the power but wife just not comfortable. Now own a Moto Guzzi Cali Custom 1400 wife much happier. The bike as you say is a purchase based not on performance spec sheet although it has plenty and in my opinion the Cali is a real looker. It's based on how it makes me feel as have all the bikes I have owned. P.S agree Mototechniks is a very good dealer.
Nice one Freddie, I can highly recommend the TCX boots, four hours in torrential rain on the motorway from Glasgow to home and my feet were bone dry, superb boots....

Thanks Freddie. Good job mate as always. I manage to buy the last pair of TCX boots at that excellent price. I was looking for them for some time (first version). Thanks for the tip

Hi Fred - I've just bought a 2010 Triumph Thunderbird 1600 ABS, after a 20 year biking hiatus. Happy to let you review it, or join you for a ride if you're in the London area.
The V Max is on my bucket list of bikes I would some day like to ride. I'm also a fan of the Honda CRX; in fact I own one, a first year, 1984! Mine is an early one, built in August of '83.
I picked up my Yamaha XSR125 about a month ago. It's a lovely bike to ride. It's easy to forget you're on a 125 with how ot feels to ride, that is until you want to go much over 55mph 😅. Just as an FYI my Mrs has the xblend ladies boots and says they are genuinely comfortable out of the box.
Oh man Freddie, that Vmax was awesome! I’ve always wanted one of those. You can still get an older one around here for around $5000. I love it when you go to shops on your side of the world. And junkyards to. That blue Triumph like yours was pretty snappy. You can get in trouble in place like that. But that nice Harley you pasted by is what I would have jumped on. You can always get Harley’s cheap at Japanese bike dealers. When are you ever gonna come to America.

I miss my V7 but I just traded my V85 in for a RE Classic 350…V85 is a great bike but it was sitting in my garage too much and I never really gelled with it.
Great video! I just recently started following you and getting into Triumphs thanks to your tours. How would you compare the Bonneville platform to something like that XSR700?
I agree, try any maxi scoot as a fun vlog. Had 40+ motorcycles and an xmax 250 which i sold last year for an unknown reason, just bought another i ,issued it so much. It is my goto daily even over a car. I bet my sh 300 is not much difference in performance to the bonny in way more comfort, economy etc. i wish dealerships by me were that “open” and well stocked. Superb vlog ta
This is my actual bike and stock they are 200bhp at the crank - mine has been derestricted and air box restrictions removed - has a full system on and has a Woolwich flash on it so it will be in the 210 bhp bracket at the crank - loved the theory about adding carbon increases HP - if that was true I think we'd all do it
What plans for you and your bike after the recent bomb shell? and Monica, pleas do your cbt, im just a year in riding, you wont regret it! and you will love a 125 they are so light and heaps of fun!
Funnily enough my mind is now quite at ease. There’s something weirdly liberating about owning a cheap bike, so for now I’m just planning to keep it🙂 I’m a HUGE 125cc fan, and a little Vespa 125 will one day be Monika’s, I’m sure🛵😃
Hey Freddie, Thought I’d try using carvertical to check a 1993 Ducati and it wouldn’t recognise the VIN or the reg. Had to use another provider which was a bit sad. Emailed them to try and get a refund. 👎
@@FreddieDobbs they responded saying: Thank you for the letter. We will only be able to verify the car/motorcycle by VIN code which consists of 17 characters. If at this time you are unable to verify your car by VIN, please send us a payment transaction ID so that we can identify your payment and process your refund. If you have any further questions, please contact us and we will try to help. So basically it looks like they can’t do older bikes with VIN numbers with less than 17 digits. Mine is a 1993 Ducati
Seven years- that is brilliant! You’re not the first person to recommend olive oil. I must start doing this, because it’s clearly a trusted method. Thank you Mick🙂
Not much going on in the workshop, anyway a good selection of bikes and the prices of those new bikes are just off the scale, no wonder Royal Enfield are doing so well, that's where my money would go.

Monika loved the idea of this!!😃🛵
@@FreddieDobbs If someone knows how to do that I'm in ! Could we use the Buy a cup of coffee fund ?
Nice!!
Great video! I just recently started following you and getting into Triumphs thanks to your tours. How would you compare the Bonneville platform to something like that XSR700?
You should check out a Suzuki 650 Bourgman.
Abo done even if it,s only for the English countryside which i miss so much.
I thought the 2015 yamaha vmax 197bhp, it seems adding a bit of carbon fibre has pushed another 23bhp out of an already tuned engine.
This is my actual bike and stock they are 200bhp at the crank - mine has been derestricted and air box restrictions removed - has a full system on and has a Woolwich flash on it so it will be in the 210 bhp bracket at the crank - loved the theory about adding carbon increases HP - if that was true I think we'd all do it
@@markarnold9732 Thanks Mark for the reply. I appreciate the added information.
Please test ride the Tennere 900
if you buy a new bike, make it. a v7! i have a 2017 one and love it
Transalp not Dominator?
What plans for you and your bike after the recent bomb shell? and Monica, pleas do your cbt, im just a year in riding, you wont regret it! and you will love a 125 they are so light and heaps of fun!
Funnily enough my mind is now quite at ease. There’s something weirdly liberating about owning a cheap bike, so for now I’m just planning to keep it🙂
I’m a HUGE 125cc fan, and a little Vespa 125 will one day be Monika’s, I’m sure🛵😃
@@FreddieDobbs i can understand that, as i seem to own all the chrome in the world on the w800! lol ill keep my fingers crossed we a cbt soon!
Don't think that was a Honda Dominator. They had 650cc air cooled single engines. That was a v twin liquid cooled bike. Transalp?
Are you brave enough to take the vmax out sometime?
It’s a tricky one, is it a Yamaha “Ten-Airy” or is it a Yamaha “Tenner-Ray”? I don’t know!
It's pronounced tenner-ay if you go there in N Africa.
Let's see....
Hey Freddie, Thought I’d try using carvertical to check a 1993 Ducati and it wouldn’t recognise the VIN or the reg. Had to use another provider which was a bit sad. Emailed them to try and get a refund. 👎
Very very interesting. Thanks for flagging this- I wonder why this is
@@FreddieDobbs they responded saying:
Thank you for the letter.
Mine is a 1993 Ducati
would be interesting to ask the people working at one of these dealerships , if they could tell your bike was a write off
It has a full MOT it is safe to be on the road.
I agree- I will ask next time🙂 I hope they wouldn’t be able to tell (but that may well be wishful thinking!)
The workshop is cleaner than my kitchen!! 😕
That place is just 30 minutes from me
Freddie I paid £120 for my TCX boots back in 2015 every now and then I rub them all over with olive oil it really looks after the leather..
Seven years- that is brilliant! You’re not the first person to recommend olive oil. I must start doing this, because it’s clearly a trusted method. Thank you Mick🙂
What you said/thought was a Honda Dominator is actually a Transalp that's been stripped down for a rat style look it appears.
Not much going on in the workshop, anyway a good selection of bikes and the prices of those new bikes are just off the scale, no wonder Royal Enfield are doing so well, that's where my money would go.
The Yamaha Tracer seemed to be a lot of bike for the money, the V7 too, at under £8k is tempting. But I won’t argue against Enfield- I’m a HUGE fan!🙂
He's missing the rare and discontinued Yamaha OEM 240 wide wheel kit.
Not a fan of the new MT10? Skipped right by.
"8000 pounds, not a lot of money" but which planet do these people live?
I don't think anyone is the same after riding a V-Max.
Mind altering.
Can you imagine having that ridiculous company logo on the bottom of your registration plate. It's bloody hideous. I wonder who thought that was a good idea
Sorry to say I’d rather just run over to a local dealer and smell the rubber and kick tires in person than watch it on the tube.
I know what you mean, but Freddie is so likeable; a schoolboy in a sweetshop !
Crack on Freddie ol’Boy , my bike is only 1649cc’s fxdwg HDavidson.🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾You get 5~Shaka’s, that be a 5 star show!!!🫵🤩MLRespect&Aloha, Kekoa.
