You’re a bold man Freddie Dobbs. For all your latte swilling, scone eating, sitting in a precious café habits it’s a rare biker would be willing to leave the house after a 7 hour drive across England knowing he had an 90 minute ride in late December fog and rain awaiting him. I know I wouldn’t.
That made me smile Fred. I used to have a little place in the heart of Greenwich around 15 years ago, and rode my black '07 Bonneville around there wearing my Barbour Continental and black Arai thinking I had made it! I used to scoot up to Blackheath and down through the park to the market to get my lunch and sit by the Thames to eat with my then Mrs. Its almost as if you are retracing my steps! My Bonnie is gathering dust right now, sitting it out in the garage and staying dry. We are selling up and moving to Bordeaux in 2025 and the Bonnie is coming with us. Like you said, they are the perfect balance. Just enough electronics to make them work well without the nonsense of all the over engineered built in obsolescence and pretty reliable. I think your Bonnie is literally the backbone of this channel, and exactly what makes it tick, particularly since Joe brought her back from the dead... Keep up the good work mate.
Roland Brown is more than just an excellent motorcycle journalist. TT racer, ( I think) I've read his articles since the 80's and still do. One of the best journalists from the golden days of motorcycle journalism. Bike magazine in particular. He he has the inside track on interviews with racers of the top level,. I'm assuming it's the same gent, but he is one of the main reasons I got so into bikes. Thanks for a great years viewing. Ride safe 👍
Same here, I remember reading his stuff in Bike magazine back when I was first getting into bikes. It would be great if Freddie could get him on the channel, now that they have a connection.
Well done Freddie and Monika your easy going style is very watchable. The pressure to keep the content rolling out must be considerable but I think we all need to see more of Monika who shouldn’t always be hiding behind the camera. In my humble opinion to include Monika on camera with you is a sure fire way to grow the channel quickly and easily so try sharing the camera duties?
Sunday's morning coffee with a Freddy's video, they go together as tea&biscuits 😊 Happy new year to you and Monika, keep us delighted with your wonderful "bits of life"!
Freddie & Monica, I often watch out for your videos and get excited whenever there is a new one to watch. You both always seem to capture on film and music how one would feel while you narrate the sights and scents of places you visit. I love how Monica pans the camera to capture candid moments of dogs, people and trees. Thank you!! More of these please!
I lived in Greenwich for 3 years. 1972, 73, 74. It was great then! I lived at 44 Greenwich Church st upstairs from Pratt's Motorcycle Company where I worked. Right next to the Spanish Galleon Pub that we frequented every evening about 6:00pm. The Greenwich Market was a wholesale product exchange during those times.
Happy New Year to you both when it comes. I love your enthusiasm for day to day life. I picked up my brand new Bonny T120 Black ten days ago so am super stoked for 2025.
Having a bird poo on you for good luck.!! That's a new one for me. Lol. Wishing you and Monika well in the new year and looking forward to the 2025 adventures of Freddie, and occasionally Monika. I love the old style songs you mix into the videos. My kind of relaxing music. 👍👍
Thanks Freddie! Wishing you and Monica a prosperous and joyous 2025! Continue making our biker lives that much more fulfilling with all your content! Safe miles, see you on the other side!
Thank you Freddie and Monika for all of the ‘24 videos and for the tour of Greenwich Market. Looks like a great place to eat and enjoy the ambience . Wishing you both a happy and healthy 2025 and much success with the channel. Cheers and ride safe.Dan 🏍✌️🇨🇦
absolutely agree, was losing my mind a bit with that one particular song that kept cropping up hahah but one can’t complain too much, sure its hard to find the right copyright free songs etc for every video
Happy New Year Freddie and Monika! Here's to 250k subscribers by 2026! Following your adventures all year and catching up on all your old material has been so much fun. This is my first year of biking and your channel has helped inspire me so much. Thanks, Phil, North Wales.
Thanks for all the great videos in 2024 Freddie and Monika, and a lovely snapshot of the Greenwich market. I used to live down the road, my old stomping ground. Thanks again for the nostalgia hit! Happy new year
What a lovely video to finish of the year do miss the big city at times but got a good read at the min lost biker story’s limiting myself to 10 mins a day reading 😂 hav a good new years don’t get too drunk
Although I've been subscribed to your channel, liking the video for long time, first Comment for your videos, Happy New Year from Far East, Seoul. So peaceful and charming video of Year-End mood. I hope you all the best in 2025. 🙏
Freddie & Monika, thank you for all the wonderful glimpses of fascinating places and your kindness & compassion to all you meet! You never fail to brighten my day! Best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year!
Monica, thankyou for looking after Freddie during the last year. Here's wishing you both a fantastic 2025 even without the bird poo. Absolutely love what you do. ❤
No, thank you ! Freddie and Monica for keep us all entertained for another year. Can't wait to see where you both go next trip for some holiday ideas. The Goa trip was a brilliant nudge for me and the wife to try Southern India this year, loved it. Keep the contents coming, and have a great 2025.
No one does this type of video better than you Freddie; looking forward to more of the same in 2025 along with everything else you’ve got in store for us. Roland Brown was a bit of a hero for me back in the 80’s on account of the fact he managed to get hold of the very first incarnation of the GSXR750, a bike that as a newly qualified 17 year old I wanted more than life itself, and took it racing. He was pretty good at it too although I think he managed to bin it big at the Bol d’or. He was also the brilliant editor of Bike magazine and along with great articles from Brecon Quaddy. Honorary mention as well to Colin Schiller (Beak Speak @ Which Bike) if anyone remembers him. The article he wrote called ‘In praise of private sales’ highlighting the obvious pitfalls of selling your bike to a dealer has probably saved me tens of thousands over the years. It’s amazing the stuff you remember 😀👍
I only live up the road in Kidbrooke & I haven’t been to Greenwich mkt in about 4yrs? Seeing this video I think are take a trip down there! Good to see the Bonny out & about guys! Happy New Year 👍🏻😎
Great vid as usual! 2 points: When you start your bike (ice cold) You should either use the choke to keep the idle a little higher RPM or you should play the throttle so you are running the engine about 500 RPM more than idle. This allows the oil a chance to reach the top end of the engine before it is under load. My trick on my V65 Sabre was to run full choke (runs too rich but only temporarily) get the bike to half choke (I see you have a detent on your choke, use that). Anyway, I would “play the choke” slowly and match the decrease with increased throttle, keeping RPM steady whilst transferring warm up responsibility to the throttle. My winter warm ups were typically 3-5 minutes. Second: I was prepared to purchase one of your tool rolls. I think they are amazing and it makes sense to you oil cloth. When I looked at them, chose one and put it in my cart…$126.00!!! Wow, gulp, OK, might still be worth it. . .deep breath. Then I saw the shipping to the US. $50!!!. I’m sorry Freddie but that is just too much of a total cost to swallow. I ended up purchasing a clearly inferior but perfectly adequate tool roll on Amazon for $25! I know those are costs that you have no control over. It just sucks I couldn’t / wouldn’t get what i wanted. Anyway, have a great New Year as well. My last year was made better by you and Monica.
@@neilurquhart8622 Ha! The last comment (one of my very few) I did I got yelled at for being too brief and therefore confusing! I get it though and after reading-reading, I agree! Happy New Year!
Thanks for this video Freddie this year is the first time in 20 years we haven't been to Greenwich and Market we relocated to Hampshire earlier this year and you brought some good memories back for us thank you. Hope you and Monica have wonderful new year

Takes me back to the 90's Freddie, I used to have a Donut trailer there on a Sunday. There was a car park near the main market that was used for all sorts of brickerbrack. Had such a great vibe.
Happy new year Freddy and Monika and to both of your families. You've done fantastically well this year man, the elevation in content quality couple with your travels. It's been fantastic. Thankyou for giving us new riders or non riders the confidence to ride or the courage to start
