As a person, struggling to survive in the Middle East, your videos giving me a hope, smile on my face. And makes me forget all this shit happens. I know, I will never live such a peaceful life. But who cares. Another lovely sunday. Cheers everyone.
The opening shot of the farmland sunrise has, again, brought out such strong memories of years ago and early morning pheasant hunting trips on a distant relative's farm. Thank you!
I dream of a life lived at your pace (presuming it’s real). I have worked in hospitality all my life and it’s driven by the speed of the customer. Your videos bring me a bit of joy and calm and hope for the future. Tim (63).
I feel for you Tim. I wouldn't want to work in a hospital - the stresses must be gargantuan! - but you do an amazing job. I think 'pace of life' is much to do with being able to 'switch off' when you aren't at work, which is easier for some jobs than others, eh?! I hope for more relaxation for you in the future, Tim! Keep your chin up!
Hi Freddie! I watched you clean your bike. My Dad (engineer) made the point to me once to clean the bike from the top down and once you’ve gotten to clean the engine DON’T GO BACK UP! At least with the same dirty rage that has by now become greasy sand paper. Makes sense to me. Great vid as usual.
Another inspirational video, the book looks good and a great idea, I've been writing one about my time as a motorcycle instuctor. And the heated grips are a great idea when its not so warm.
Thanks for taking us along, Freddie. And of course the daydreaming of what’s next is a necessary precursor to action. They say you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Godspeed. We’ll be watching!
It's not quite as Rose-tinted as Freddie makes out. Most of it is plagued with traffic and endless potholes. The roads of Albania are in much better condition.
So glad this bike is back on the road. Keep it, Freddie. I know what you mean about getting your book into print. My novel has been republished by another publisher and is now a paperback, not just an ebook. Nick
I’m with you Freddie in day dreaming of future trips on my bikes! Glad it’s not just me spending the winter evenings that way. My friend and I are following in your footsteps to Morocco on our 40+yr old BMWs in April 25, I then have a trip planned with my son in May and am talking of another trip maybe to Germany later in the summer, so my planning is underway! . My real dream ride though would be Coast to Coast across the USA, ideally shipping one of my own classic BMWs over but in reality probably renting a bike over there as shipping costs are so high! But like you say, it’s great to day dream 😊
Well done on the book Freddie. You two certainly know how to put the work in, there are those that wish they could make things happen and those that go out and make things happen 💪🏼
@@FreddieDobbs all my mates who are in the photos will love to see themselves as young guys, all in our 60's now, apart from one who's not with us now.
I was a stay at Home mom with no money in my IRA or any savings of my own, which was scary at 53 years of age. Three years ago I got a part time job and save everything I make. After 3 years, I am 56 yo and have put $9,000 in an IRA and $40,000 in my portfolio with CFA, Evelyn Infurna. Since the goal of getting a job was to invest for retirement and NOT up my lifestyle, I was able to scale this quickly to $150,000. If I can do this in a year, anyone can.
I know this lady you just mentioned. Evelyn Infurna Services is a portfolio manager and investment advisor. She gained recognition as a former employee at Goldman Sachs; a renowned investor she is. Evelyn Infurna has demonstrated expertise in investment strategies n has been involved in managing portfolios and providing guidance to clients.
I went from no money to lnvest with to busting my A** off on Uber eats for four months to raise about $20k to start trading with Evelyn Infurna. I am at $128k right now and LOVING that you have to bring this up here
Evelyn Infurna Services has really set the standard for others to follow, we love her here in Canada 🇨🇦 as she has been really helpful and changed lots of life's
Well the name is 'Evelyn Infurna Services. Just research the name. You'd find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.
We don’t have much riding opportunities here. Usually, only during the weekend but limited to only the same route. I always hoped if I could get a chance to endlessly ride somewhere. But I guess I have to live with the reality of our existence. Anyways I pray you continue to entertain us as long as you can and while we enjoy watching your videos you enjoy double or triple than us producing them. God bless you!
A longer front mudguard would provide better spray protection for the bike. Chrome looks classic. The reason that black became popular with manufacturers was that it’s cheaper than polished aluminium. I still prefer the polished look.
Hello Freddie, just ordered the book - hopefully it will arrive in time to be the book that makes a boring day of travel to the USA more enjoyable. I am heading to Morocco Oct 2025 so if you see a slightly overweight englishman on a Tuono give me a wave. Really enjoying the channel.
What a beautiful view to wake to, theres something nice about having your bike so close. I'm fortunate to have a garage and like you say can work on and clean my bike whenever I want. Glad you had a great week together, with Monika that is 😄 and the bike of course. For heated grips also consifer Ultimateaddons heated grips with integrated switch for £129, They are RIDE's best buy.
I have the Ultimateaddons heated grips on my RE Classic 500 and am really pleased with them. A game changer, and without the ugly control module of the Oxfords.
I have been watching your channel for a few years I think and good to see subs going up and the quality of your stuff is really top notch . Thanks for your and Monica’s effort . Lifts a Sunday
Freddie, brilliant as always. Please check out heated gloves rather than grips. So much better and actually keep your hands warm. Heated grips heat the palm of your hand but offer zero heat to the outside of your hand where you need it. The other bonus for heated gloves is you can use them on other bikes too. I have Keis gloves and they are superb. Cheers, Michael.
Another great video Freddie, glad you got the bike sorted, my first trip next year will be the Dragon in February but hoping for somewhere warmer later in the year 🤞
Hi Freddie love you your blogs, have tried the bell and the glam and in my opinion the glam is the one to go for on comfort, noise and safety. Good luck sir ❤
Freddie.. If you want a quiet, comfy helmet, Shoei Neotech 3 is the way to go... Doesnt quite have the retro styling you maybe after, but my god its good..👍.
Handlebar Mitts are a fantastic way of keeping your hands warm. I have heated grips and heated gloves but the mitts are super warm, they cut out the windchill. Combined with heated grips your hands will be sweating, mine do
I totally agree on what Freddie said about living in a house as opposed to a flat. I have lived most of my life in a flat. I consider myself lucky my mother in law allows me to do maintenance at her house.
The location for your 5 day holiday was truly beautiful (even in November) interesting comment on covering your bike up, I always cover my bike at night when I'm touring , it keeps the bike dry (no wet backside in the morning) while also making it less visible to thieves , the cover for my 1600GT packs down to the size of a rolled up sweat shirt so not exactly large. On the book front, congratulations I look forward to ordering a copy.
Loving the content! I have the Oxford Pro Heated Grips on my z650rs. Took the bike out last week in 5°c with thin leather summer gloves..had to turn the heat from medium to low after 5 minutes as it was too warm! Thoroughly recommended and apparently easy to fit (dealer did mine).
Like many others, I'd say avoid the Bell, it's renowned for being noisy. Ok for round town, but not good for motorway speeds. The Shoei, strikes me as much better, essentially a modern helmet, complete with Pinlock antifog, but with a retro look. If you do decide to go for Shoei, do make sure you go to a proper Shoei fitting centre. They will😢 take you through the steps, and have the different thickness liners and cheek pads so it'll fit perfectly. I picked mine up from Infinity Motorcycles at Hanger Lane who were outstanding, the way you hope a motorcycle accessories shop will be. One quick call and they ordered in two Glamsters in the colour I wanted as I wasn't certain of the size I'd need, and made sure they had a stock of the different parts so we could tailor the fit. All of that at no extra cost and just five minutes ride away from a cheeky fry-up at the Ace Cafe after.
Love your videos, Freddie! I got the Shoei Glamster from Urban Rider in London - highly recommend the helmet AND the shop in case you haven’t been there yet!
My recommendation would be heated gloves grips are ok but don't keep the part of your hand that takes the most wind blast warm and as a man with a couple of bikes it's nice to be able to have warm hands when I am on any bike and as your on and off lots of different bikes battery heated gloves the way to go honestly a game changer
For me, the Bonneville SE, your model but with a few extras, was peak bonneville style. The aluminum engine side covers really look great. I would even say for you to get the original kit to add the tacho to your bike. The way the double clocks look on the bike just makes it even more classy
Freddie, the Bell Bullit is not a quiet helmet, in fact it whistles at certain angles. It’s a good summer helmet for short rides, not touring. Considering investing in a Hedon, well worth it for the long run, build quality is superb, comfortable, quiet, very light, great visor quality with pinlock. Also I do love my carbon Roof Boxxer for a flip up helmet. Go to Urban Rider to try on the helmets
Hi Freddie, next time you are in Ipswich, fancy coming along to our Wednesday night social meet. Perhaps even one of our sunday morning ride outs. I'll even buy you a beer. We are the Triangle motorcycle club. If not, we will just keep enjoying the vids.
Funny you mention how hard it is to keep your motorbike clean while living in an apartment. I JUST uploaded a video to my channel on how I keep mine clean in the same situation. Hello from San Diego, California, Freddie. Love the videos.
Beautiful video once again Freddie. There is only one place to source your new helmet, Motolegends near Guildford. I won't wax lyrical here about how good they are, but check them out. As for the bare metal engine casings on the bonnie, I agree they look really good, however they do take a lot of maintaining to stay looking good. My Speedmaster still looks good after nearly 6 years, but I've invested an awful lot of elbow grease keeping her that way.
Great video, I love that log cabin, I could happily live in that but I am sure my wife would not agree. The helmet i have is a Shoei Glamster, the quality and fit is excellent and far better quality than the Bell.
This is hugely useful- a few people have said they rate the Glamster more highly, so this’ll be my preference between the two👌🏻 Regarding the cabin- I could extremely happily live there, too!
It seems extraordinary that the £25k+ Harley you had for Motorcycle Live didn't have heated grips! I'd definitely recommend you get the Oxford grips with the integrated controller.
Curious that however much we know our bike is in good order there is always a feeling of trepidation when we take it in for it's road worthiness check. An old poacher's trick - pheasants always roast in trees at night, often on lowish branches. If you shine a torch on them they will stick their heads out to see what is happening. A wire loop on a stick and you have a feed. I won't say how I know on the grounds that it may incriminate me. 🙂
I picked up my new Bonneville T120 Black a couple of weeks ago. Triumph had a deal that included £1000 worth of accessories so I had heated grips fitted. Best things ever,…
Freddie, the answer is simple, you need more than one bike. One with a black engine, one with a chrome engine, one with a full fairing, one adventure bike and so on and so on :)
Having bought a new helmet recently and bell buillett being top of the list, I went with the ByCity roadster 2 (120£ Vs 200£) but most importantly significantly less wind noise through the vents. Swappable visors including old school bubble (17£) my cardo freecom slid in seamlessly
@FreddieDobbs can't recommend the roadster 2 enough now I have used it although it does lack a pin lock (easy solve with a temu anti fog sticker) i have the gloss my Mrs has the Matt but I think I'll invest in the cream come summer for some extra class as they're that good
Absolutely relate to living in a flat! This time of year, every ride ends in a detour to the local petrol station to use the DIY pressure washer. Filthy again by the time i get home 😅
I'm thinking you should ride to the Rock of Gibraltar - England to England (Territory) - a bit of winter sun. Meet up with Monica in Barcelona on the way home - recreate a classic Dobbs ride with a new destination 👍🏼
I have a Bell Bullitt. Though it's beautiful, it's very noisy. Great visibility due to narrow chin bar. Anything by Shoei is great and quieter. I would go with that.
Freddie on the trip front what about a road trip in June down to Biarritz for the Wheels and Waves festival. We did it 2023 but had trouble with a snapped chain on my Triumph so we're going 2025 and spending a week in and around the Pyrenees as well as the festival.
Technically and safety wise the Glamster is better than the Bullit. I own both. Another advantage is the custom fitting of the Glamster. I got the black gloss one and peeled off the logo on the front since I wanted a clean helmet.
I do know just what you mean about cleaning, and fixing your motorcycle when you live in an apartment, I can't help but feel that what we all need is a shed. In my dreams I imagine a space like allotments, but without the growing areas. For a small fee people could rent one of series of sheds, linked by paths wide enough for motorcycles of course. It would be big enough for tinkering in, secure enough to keep tools in, with an outdoor porch to sit on sipping tea, and nodding to your fellow shed-heads. There's plenty of research to show that having a shed, being part of a community of fellow tinkerers improves mental health, although I doubt we'll get our sheds on the NHS.
Not all of us have heated garages. My garage is in a block behind my house. No electricity and no heating. Still better than when I lived in a flat and only costs me £24 per year to rent.
I have a Bell Bullitt Freddie. They’re nice looking and you get a great field of vision. Very noisy though and not great for cold riding and you can’t close the vents.
Wow! Just learned my travel style...Dreamer! I thought I was odd. I love daydreaming about places to go and watching videos of people going there but planning and researching bores me to tears! 😂♥️ Thanks for the validation! 🙌
Stop considering Oxford Pro heated grips, take action, and buy them straight away, you ride all year! it will be your best purchase ever! The book looks amazing! It looks like the illustrations pay homage to Aha's take on me music video 🙂
I just fitted the retro Oxford heated grips on my Yamaha XJR1300, they look great, and from what I've read, the intergrated units don't get hot enough. Got mine for £55 through a dealer's eBay shop, a bargain!
Hello Freddie if you are lol for a helmet Bike Stop in Stevenage is a great place for Helmets .And it's been going since the 1980,s so they no a thing or two .👍
Regarding helmets, the ones you have set your mind on is also fashion statements. Ment for city riding and looking cool. They are better quality than the one you got, but still similar category. If you want a really good helmet look at touring helmets. Either a full face or a flip up. I personally like AGV and HJC, but Shoei and Schubert also get good praise.
I have been wearing a Schuberth for many years, and yes they are expensive, but they are very good. There is a reason they are Police issue. You can get some good deals in the various sales.

I think you should give camping another go ;-)
I'm thinking you should ride to the Rock of Gibraltar - England to England (Territory) - a bit of winter sun. Meet up with Monica in Barcelona on the way home - recreate a classic Dobbs ride with a new destination 👍🏼
I LOVE the sound of this!!
I have a Bell Bullitt. Though it's beautiful, it's very noisy. Great visibility due to narrow chin bar.
Anything by Shoei is great and quieter. I would go with that.
Hoping and wishing the plans for 2025 all work out Freddie!
Thank you Glen, really appreciate it!
Bit of a mine field knowing which helmet to buy. The hot grips looked to be good quality.
Get the heated gloves Freddie. That way, you have warm hands for ALL the motorcycles you ride.
This is hugely useful, thank you very much Eric!
As you like retro helmets try Urban Riders in Fulham. Great store.
hi Freddie i like the book
The book looks great, good boy for using cash.
Yep, it's frustrating not being able to just walk out the door and have the bike on your doorstep. One day!
Hi Freddie - I can recommend a Shoei Glamster. I have had two and find them wonderfully light and comfortable. Not so keen on the name though. 🤪
Loved the quote in the book Freddie I’m buying one 💕👍
Just ordered the book Freddie is there any chance you could sign my copy please
Thanks dobbsey. Try a solo in sweden 🇸🇪. Some great roads here. 👌👍
Hello Freddie if you are lol for a helmet Bike Stop in Stevenage is a great place for Helmets .And it's been going since the 1980,s so they no a thing or two .👍
You might have to go for the cruiser heated grips as the bar size is probably 1” not 7/8”. Check before you buy 👍
Ah yep- I didn’t consider this!
I can feel a Honda GB350S ride rumbling towards us…
You could also check out the new John Doe Helmet! Looks and functionality are very good imo
Have a look at “Ultimate addons” heated grips. They have the integrated button and 5 heat settings. Just fitted some to a Triumph speed 400. £129.99
